Nine years ago, Wisconsin voters chose Scott Walker to be governor, making him the first governor in the United States to survive a recall election.
It was historic.
The crazed Democrats/Leftists crashed and burned in historic fashion.
Their insanity elevated Scott Walker, turning him into a national figure and setting the stage for his presidential run.
They did all that.
So often recently, as our rights were stripped away by Tony Evers, I've thought about how different the COVID-19 crisis would have been for us in Wisconsin if Scott Walker had still been our governor.
I hope Wisconsinites have learned how quickly our lives can change for the worse when a Democrat is in charge.

Schiff, who steadfastly denied GOP any witnesses of their own when he controlled proceedings in House, says it would be damaging precedent for the Senate to acquit based only on the case he brought forth, without helping save their failed investigation by calling add'l witnesses.
Americans are thoroughly disgusted with liar Schiff and the Democrats.
We know what a disgrace their impeachment process was.
We know Schiff and the Democrats and their media partners have spent three years lying about the president. We know members of the Obama administration and the Deep State, the FBI, and the CIA attempted a coup.
We know the Democrats never accepted Donald Trump as the duly elected president.
Remember their hissy fit over the inauguration? Entertainers shamefully refused to participate. Some athletes and teams refused invitations to the White House. Publications refused to put our First Lady on their covers and highlight her incredible style and many accomplishments.
They never let up. The tantrum continues. It has snowballed into the shame of their sham impeachment.
It is pathetic. They are pathetic.
History will judge Schiff and the Democrats harshly for wasting our tax dollars and blocking the will of the people by trying to remove our president from office.
The reason the country is divided is because they stubbornly refused to accept the peaceful transition of power. They didn't accept the results of the election. All of this is because they refused to respect our Constitution and the American people.
I thought they would get a grip after a while, after a period of denial and mourning, like the deranged Leftists did in Wisconsin when Scott Walker won the governorship three times. They were completely nuts for a time but eventually they settled down.
With President Trump, the Democrats/Leftists/Socialists never got a grip.
The Democrats need to reflect on why we reject them as fervently as we do.
The Times today is taking the rare step of publishing an anonymous Op-Ed essay. We have done so at the request of the author, a senior official in the Trump administration whose identity is known to us and whose job would be jeopardized by its disclosure. We believe publishing this essay anonymously is the only way to deliver an important perspective to our readers.
Oh, good grief.
The writer of the op-ed declares, "I work for the president but like-minded colleagues and I have vowed to thwart parts of his agenda and his worst inclinations."
President Trump is facing a test to his presidency unlike any faced by a modern American leader.
It’s not just that the special counsel looms large. Or that the country is bitterly divided over Mr. Trump’s leadership. Or even that his party might well lose the House to an opposition hellbent on his downfall.
The dilemma — which he does not fully grasp — is that many of the senior officials in his own administration are working diligently from within to frustrate parts of his agenda and his worst inclinations.
I would know. I am one of them.
To be clear, ours is not the popular “resistance” of the left. We want the administration to succeed and think that many of its policies have already made America safer and more prosperous.
But we believe our first duty is to this country, and the president continues to act in a manner that is detrimental to the health of our republic.
Apparently, Mr./Ms. Anonymous thinks this piece will cause the president's supporters to abandon him and reject all the accomplishments of the first twenty months of his presidency.
Does the so-called “Senior Administration Official” really exist, or is it just the Failing New York Times with another phony source? If the GUTLESS anonymous person does indeed exist, the Times must, for National Security purposes, turn him/her over to government at once!
I wondered the same thing. Is Mr./Ms. Anonymous real? Is this just more derangement?
The timing is suspect. This piece just happens to drop during the Brett Kavanaugh confirmation hearing, when the Democrats and swamp dwellers are reminded of how powerless they are.
Whatever, this lame op-ed doesn't matter to me. I'm completely desensitized to this Trump derangement garbage. I dismiss it.
Nearly 63 million Americans are being attacked day in and day out. It is relentless. We're attacked by Democrat politicians, their Leftist media mouthpieces, Hollywood celebrities, professional athletes, social media giants, etc.
We've seen the lengths the Deep State will go to undermine the president. Government agencies engaged in an organized campaign to thwart the will of the people. It's a scandal that gets bigger every day.
Do these Leftists/Never Trump resisters really think they are winning over anyone? Do they really think Trump supporters will reward their marathon hissy fit by giving them power?
Just like during the recall of Gov. Scott Walker, all these attacks will backfire. Here in Wisconsin, we've seen how this sort of insanity plays out.
Thanks to the Democrats and their insane recall effort, Walker has been elected governor of Wisconsin three times.
What Tony Evers lacks in sizzle, Democrats are hoping he compensates for with a record of clashes with Gov. Scott Walker over education https://t.co/1FB5PDR2Mr
Democrat Evers lacks sizzle. Well, that's an understatement.
Education is certainly an important issue, but it's far from the only issue.
The state's economic progress under Walker's leadership is undeniable.
Wisconsinites would be crazy to oust Walker and elect Evers as governor.
I know some recent polls show Evers ahead of Walker, but polls also showed Hillary Clinton was guaranteed victory in Wisconsin. Polls showed Ron Johnson was going to lose to Russ Feingold in 2016. Those polls, of course, were wrong.
This is going to be a very tough election.
Money from all over the country will be pouring into the state. The Democrats would love to take Paul Ryan's congressional seat, reelect Tammy Baldwin, and defeat Scott Walker. You can almost hear them drooling over that.
However, in Wisconsin, out-of-state money and the Democrat machine don't translate into victory at the polls.
Scott Walker made history when he won the recall election.
Ron Johnson prevailed in a race the Democrats believed was theirs.
And, in the sweetest upset of all, Hillary Clinton lost Wisconsin to Donald Trump, the first time the state voted Republican for president since Ronald Reagan's 1984 reelection.
On Tuesday, once again, millions and millions of dollars in out-of-state money couldn't deliver victory in Wisconsin. Leah Vukmir defeated Kevin Nicholson.
Yes, lots of money will be spent to elect Democrats in Wisconsin in 2018.
As we've seen again and again, money isn't everything.
Complacency is the biggest problem conservatives in Wisconsin face.
We can win and we will win, but not if we don't vote.
Hopefully, come November, Tony Evers will join Tom Barrett on the list of Democrat challengers rejected by Wisconsin voters and Scott Walker will be delivering yet another acceptance speech.

CONGRATULATIONS, SCOTT WALKER AND REBECCA KLEEFISCH!
VICTORY!
I'm so proud of Governor Scott Walker and Lt. Governor Rebecca Kleefisch.
I'm so proud of my fellow Wisconsinites.
We, the "silent" majority - the ones who didn't occupy the Capitol and blow vuvuzelas or bang drums or dress like zombies or send death threats or sign recall petitions or key cars with bumper stickers showing support for our political opponents - voted in huge numbers.
No vans scooped us up and dropped us off for early voting. No paid activists pounded on our doors and ushered us to the polls.
This was a grassroots victory.
All the organization and the money and the manpower the unions could muster wasn't enough to defeat us.
The Leftist/Democrat/unionista tantrum, the historic hissy fit, was a complete and utter waste. COMPLETE AND UTTER WASTE!
We are the majority. And yesterday, we sent the message that we aren't silent.
The taxpayers, hard-working Wisconsinites, prevailed.
This election was a referendum on reform. We won. WE WON!
Now, where were we before the Leftists went berserk in February 2011?
Oh, yeah. Wisconsin is open for business.
This is what happened with Scott Walker as governor of Wisconsin:
From 9.3% unemployment in 2010 to 2.8% unemployment in April 2018, Wisconsin is truly working. pic.twitter.com/xw2nuyauqx
I am proud that we are getting positive things done for the people of Wisconsin. But there is more work to be done. Now is not the time to go backward. We must keep moving forward! pic.twitter.com/aeUi6vrL8q

Breitbart editor Milo Yiannopoulos said Wednesday that the riot that canceled his planned speech at the University of California-Berkeley was "heavily ironic and very, I think, self-defeating for the social justice left."
Yiannopoulos' planned talk was scrapped after violent protesters hurled smoke bombs, broke windows and started a bonfire outside the student union where he was to appear.
"No one’s safety is at risk from different opinions," Yiannopoulos told "Tucker Carlson Tonight" in a phone interivew. "No one’s physical safety is endangered by political ideas from a speaker on campus, but universities have sort of allowed this stuff to happen, and even in some cases encouraged it."
The Berkeley appearance was to be the 32-year-old's last stop on a nationwide college tour that has sparked protests and occasional violence. Yiannopoulos told Carlson that he believes the protesters view him as a proxy for President Donald Trump, whom he vocally supports.
This was no peaceful protest. It wasn't a demonstration. This was a riot. Violence was used to cause chaos, and ultimately, squelch free speech.
The left is profoundly antithetical to free speech these days, does not want to hear alternative points of view. - Milo Yiannopoulos #Tuckerpic.twitter.com/LwAiglBGE0
The runaway Democrat state senators eventually returned, accomplishing absolutely nothing of substance by leaving the state -- FAILURE.
Their recall of Gov. Scott Walker FAILED, actually turning Gov. Walker into a national figure and dramatically raising his profile.
Act 10 passed and is still in place -- another FAILURE.
People here in Wisconsin were more determined than ever to not let the Leftist thugs win, not reward their tantrum.
And we didn't.
So, keep up the hysteria, Leftists. Keep setting fires and breaking glass and chanting inanities. It's helping Donald Trump and the conservative cause.
Leftists really need to examine what happened in Wisconsin and think about what they're doing.

Thousands of demonstrators took to the streets in Manhattan on Wednesday night and converged on Trump Tower in Midtown to protest the election of Donald J. Trump as president.
Similar protests happened in several cities across the country, including Boston, Chicago, Seattle and Washington, and at college campuses in California, Massachusetts and Pennsylvania.
In New York, the protests started in separate waves from Union Square and Columbus Circle and snaked their way through Midtown.
The protesters chanted “You’re not our president” and “New York hates Trump” and carried signs that said, among other things, “Dump Trump.” Restaurant workers in their uniforms briefly left their posts to cheer on the demonstrators.
A USA Today reporter assigned to cover Scott Walker signed a recall petition against the Republican in 2011. The American Mirror first reported the story and Gannett's defense of Madeleine Behr. The site quoted Joel Christopher, vice president of news for Gannett Wisconsin Media: "We indeed are aware that Madeleine signed the Gov. Scott Walker recall election petition in 2011 because Madeleine made it a priority to tell us before she even interviewed for a reporting position with us."
The American Mirror continued to quote Christopher's spin: "With Madeleine and every Gannett Wisconsin journalist whose work we put in front of the public, we invite people to read with a critical eye because we’re confident they will discover strong journalism reported fairly and accurately in a nonpartisan fashion in service of the public interest."
Without a doubt, the Leftist media pose a serious problem to conservatives.
Wisconsin Gov. Scott Walker, whose speech to activists in Iowa last weekend drew strong reviews, has taken the first formal step toward a presidential candidacy in 2016, establishing a committee that will help spread his message and underwrite his activities as he seeks to build his political and fundraising networks in the months ahead.
Walker filed papers to set up the committee, called "Our American Revival," and a new Web site for the organization was scheduled to go live later Tuesday. The steps come after a busy weekend of pre-presidential events that included his address at the Iowa Freedom Summit, a later appearance at a gathering in California hosted by the billionaire Koch brothers and a stopover in Denver for additional fundraising.
“Our American Revival encompasses the shared values that make our country great; limiting the powers of the federal government to those defined in the Constitution while creating a leaner, more efficient, more effective and more accountable government to the American people,” Walker said in a statement in the release announcing the committee.
"[A]ppearance at a gathering in California hosted by the billionaire Koch brothers" -- Koch brothers, of course. Is it possible for a Leftist media outlet to mention a conservative without mentioning the Koch brothers?
It's so silly, especially since talk about the Koch brothers does nothing to dissuade conservative supporters.
Anyway, Walker has enjoyed some good buzz nationally.
In addition, Rush Limbaugh has practically endorsed him, which is huge. For a long time, Limbaugh has cited Walker as the blueprint for conservative success. He continues to support Walker.
As a Wisconsin voter, one of the people responsible for helping Walker to win three gubernatorial elections in Wisconsin, I have mixed feelings.
While I think Walker would make an excellent president and deserves his place in the Republican field of potential nominees, I didn't vote for "Our American Revival."
I voted for "Our Wisconsin Revival."
There is work to be done here at home. I don't want issues important to Wisconsin to become "distractions" to Walker's higher political aspirations.
Granted, if Walker fails to tend to matters in Wisconsin, he hurts his chances to succeed nationally. There is that fail-safe aspect. Walker can't ignore us without putting his presidential hopes at risk.
That's somewhat comforting, but not quite enough.
Although he has been elected governor THREE TIMES, he's only been in office for one term. It's been an incredible, challenging, historic term, but one term, nonetheless.
Without a doubt, Walker is certainly dramatically more qualified to be president than Obama was at the time of his election.
As I said, mixed feelings.
If Americans choose Walker to be the 2016 Republican nominee for president, I will support him wholeheartedly.
I do think Rebecca Kleefisch would make a great governor.
