Obama Advisor Rand Beers Unloads on McCain

Listen to Rand Beers claim that John McCain's time as a P.O.W. made him unable to comprehend how Americans responded to the Vietnam War.

He was isolated, clueless. He doesn't get it.

RAND BEERS: Sadly, Sen. McCain was not here (in the U.S.) during those times (the turmoil of the late '60s). In the end, I think that the notion that the members of the Senate who were in the ground forces or who were ashore in Vietnam have a very different view of Vietnam and the costs that you describe than John McCain does because he was in isolation essentially for many of those years, and did not experience the turmoil here or the challenges that were involved for those of us who served in Vietnam during the Vietnam War.

So, I think to some extent his national security experience in that regard is sadly limited, and I think it is reflected in some of the ways that he thinks about how U.S. forces might be committed to conflicts around the world as fast as a very neoconservative power might settle all of these issues, victory in the end might determine our ability to succeed in getting others to go along with us. And I find that very troubling.

Good grief. How low will they go?

Clearly, the Barack Obama campaign is waging an all-out assault on the value of John McCain's military service.

Wesley Clark and Jim Webb are trying to make McCain's service irrelevant in terms of his presidential qualifications. Rand Beers actually cites it as a negative.

So, because McCain sacrificed so much and suffered so greatly in the Hanoi Hilton, that's a strike against him to be commander-in-chief.

These Democrats are absolutely shameless.

I hold Barack Obama responsible for his surrogates' remarks. They are speaking for him.

Obama needs to call these unpatriotic attack dogs off now.

It's really very simple. The left in the USA continues to spit in the face of the Viet Nam Veteran.

...Vietnam...

Sorry.

Exactly.

The Left hasn't really repented for how it treated the vets.

The Leftist mindset is the same as it was when McCain was in the Hanoi Hilton.

Beers and his ilk don't truly respect McCain and his band of brothers.
