Cafferty: "It's Race, Stupid"

Why is the presidential race so close?

Jack Cafferty explains.

It's about race.

A whole lot of Americans are racist. Yeah, that's the ticket.

Cafferty writes:

Race is arguably the biggest issue in this election, and it's one that nobody's talking about.

The differences between Barack Obama and John McCain couldn't be more well-defined. Obama wants to change Washington. McCain is a part of Washington and a part of the Bush legacy. Yet the polls remain close. Doesn't make sense…unless it's race.

Time magazine's Michael Grunwald says race is the elephant in the room. He says Barack Obama needs to tread lightly as he fights back against the McCain-Palin campaign attacks.

Cafferty is right on one count.

Nobody is talking about race.

However, everybody seems to be talking about age.

I say there are bigots out there, like political genius Matt Damon, at work.

Listen to Democrat elected officials and party operatives, media talking heads, political pundits, celebrities, and late night talk show hosts.

AGE is arguably the biggest issue in this election.

The polls remain close. Doesn't make sense... unless it's age.

Right?

I am so tired of that line. The "race card" in this election has come from liberals. They are incapable of dealing with class and it becomes so much easier for them to turn it into a race question.

First it was those "red necks" in West Virginia who were racist because they did not trust Obama. Then it was union members who did not support Obama because they were racist.

I remember 88 and hell of a lot of "red necks" supported Jesse. He went up north with hooded Posse Comitatus serving security detail. The rallying call was we'd follow a black man to the promise land before we'd follow a white to hell.

I will tell you one thing, this election cycle liberals have not been shy about their disdain for the working class.

It's very odd. Obama courts the blue collar vote and then he demeans them.

He claims to transcend race and then he plays the race card.

It has grown very, very tiresome.

Cafferty blaming race for the close election is ridiculous-- typical and desperate, but still ridiculous.

Good grief. These people are nuts. I'm sure this is playing well across the country. Every day people see the world like this right? Right?

They're desperate. Get used to it.
