By definition, the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel Editorial Board gives opinions.
But with the Board, it's not about making a case and presenting an opinion.
It's work is to spin and serve up propaganda to promote the liberal agenda.
Today's editorial, "Multi-tasking is key," provides an example.
The Board writes:
The financial bailout package is a big deal.
So is running for president — offering voters, in these short weeks until the election, an opportunity to contrast and compare on everything up to and including the bailout. Debates offer a particularly quintessential opportunity in this regard.
We suspect John McCain’s suspension of his campaign to go work on the financial package and his call to postpone the first presidential debate today was intended to make him look presidential and bipartisan. It didn’t work. Most folks likely will note that Democrats and Republicans were very close to a deal on Thursday and — surprise! — they seemed to have done it without either of the presidential candidates.
The country already has a president. It also has senators and House members aplenty to negotiate an equitable bailout package that includes accountability and oversight, plus help for those who are financially strapped yet don’t inhabit the higher tax brackets of CEOs and other Wall Street denizens.
So according to the Board, McCain's suspension of his campaign was not a sincere desire on his part to represent his constituents at this historic crossroads of the nation's economic future.
Doesn't McCain have a responsibility to the people of Arizona that he represents in Washington?

The Board speaks as if it's one big stew in Washington. It's not. The people of the states have their own senators and representatives.
McCain still is accountable to his constituents. They deserve respresentation.
I think McCain's manner of dealing with the economic crisis IS multi-tasking. He hasn't dropped out of the race. He's choosing to put his effort into his duty as a senator for a few days rather than shirk that responsibility. He can be both an active senator and a candidate.
That stands in stark contrast to Obama's exploitation of his office, using his senate seat as little more than a stepping stone to realize his higher personal political ambitions. What has Obama accomplished for his constituents? Anyone know?

I don't remember. Did the Board charge Obama with posturing to look presidential when he went on his Obama-palooza tour of the Middle East and Europe that sent the lib media into a frenzy?
I'll assume the Board believed Obama did the right thing and didn't view his photo-op travels with cynicism.
Speaking of trying to look presidential, I'll also assume that the Board didn't mind Obama's personalized but phony presidential seal.
And the Board has suddenly decided that tonight's debate is critical to electing the next president. Where were they when McCain wanted to stage townhall meetings with Obama?
I think McCain is doing what he believes is right, just as when he was a lone voice in supporting the surge.
The fact is the Board will diss McCain no matter what he does and Obama will be praised.
"Mission Accomplished" as propagandists. Miserable failues as journalists.

I'm still not sure whether he actually will show for the debate tonight or not. It would give a great opportunity for him to address the US public and give the public an idea of what person/president is behind the name McCain.
Whether he shows or not will still have an affect on the polls. McCain still has to get back in the game!

The 1992 Presidential Debates with Ross Perot were not dull. His warnings have now come true. Replace John McCain with Ron Paul. Add Ralph Nader and Cynthia McKinney. Barack Obama must earn his victory, not win by default.

McCain has not introduced any banking or housing bills in the 110th Congress, while Obama has proposed five.

Obama has introduced 130 measures during this Congress. Five of Obama’s standalone bills fall within the Banking Committee's jurisdiction.
McCain has not been sincere in stopping his campaign. He is appearing on all of the talk show circuits. All of the campaign offices are open. He said they would not accept donations and they are. He said he was pulling all tv ad's and yet they are actually airing more ad's than before. He lied. Live with it.

You can toss out the talking points, and copy and paste lists, but "facts" can be deceptive.
You don't make a distinction between signing on to a bill as a co-sponsor and actually authoring a bill. "Introducing measures" is a slippery term as well. Moreover, you have to examine the content of the bill to determine its significance. Is it fluff?
How many measures has McCain had before the Banking Committee?

When was the last time Obama has voted in the Senate?
How many times has Obama cast a vote in the U.S. Senate compared to McCain?
How many of Obama's bills (sole original sponsor) have been passed into law?
The current economic crisis is dramatic, and the proposed bailout, working out a deal, is a monumental task.
To take a pass on that piece of legislation and at this time is irresponsible.
Suspending a campaign for about 48 hours isn't too much to ask of a candidate.
McCain did the right thing.

mccain's "suspension of campaign" amounted to nothing but a political ploy to one-up obama. i wonder how he helped the bailout negotiations come to an agreement.
