Angry Hockey Fans Boo Palin

UPDATE: "NYT Pulls Misleading Account of Palin Puck Dropping Ceremony"

Turns out, Lynn Zinser greatly exaggerated what happened.

While Sarah Palin was initially greeted with boos, they were drowned out by applause.

Another New York Times reporter disgraced.

______________

It seems that anger was the crowd's overarching emotion at the Wachovia Center on Saturday night.

What a shocking display of hate!

How scary that unruly fans at the Philadelphia Flyers' opener on Saturday night at the Wachovia Center went berserk!

Palin Met With Boos at Flyers’ Opener

When Sarah Palin dropped the ceremonial first puck at the Flyers’ opener on Saturday night at the Wachovia Center, she was greeted by resounding (almost deafening) boos. Ed Snider, owner of the Flyers, had her introduced to the crowd more as a hockey mom than as the Republican candidate for vice president. She was flanked by Scott Gomez, the Rangers center, and Mike Richards, the Flyers center.

Here Sarah Palin, hockey mom, is with her two youngest daughters at the Flyers' game.

And the crowd unleashes "almost deafening boos" at them.

I think this is the result of all the red-meat rhetoric that Barack Obama and Joe Biden have been throwing at Gov. Palin.

All those dishonest, negative campaign ads that the Obama camp has been flooding the air with are responsible for the crowd's behavior.

Obviously, thousands chose to be terribly disrespectful and turn into an angry mob.

They didn't have to cheer. They didn't have to applaud. But did they have to boo Palin and her children?

I guess it's to be expected. Obama and Biden and their minions, including an array of celebrities, have been fanning the flames of hate since Palin was selected by John McCain to be his running mate.

Obama's followers have been on a mission to destroy Palin and her family. Of course, the hockey fans in Philadelphia booed her and her children.

Obama has done nothing to tamp down the hate. This is Obama's fault. His supporters are mad, really mad.

Perhaps she's just corrupt and the fans are tired of that.

However, I think it much simpler -- Mary, it's Philly. As Jim Rowen pointed out, they booed Mike Schmidt.

fyi: In case you're not a baseball fan: Schmidt was a career long Philadelphia Philly, hit over 500 HRs, is in the Hall of Fame and is widely perceived as the greatest 3B in baseball history.

If they're going to boo him, I'm fairly certain that Palin would be booed.

But nice try, though.

They also booed Santa Clause at a football game in philly. Its philly they boo everyone unless their team is winning. So STFU Mary. You are just angry that the phillies destroyed the brew crew.

Yeah, Philly has a longstanding ultra-Leftwing tradition. The very fact that Palin gave birth to a child with -- GASP! -- Down Syndrome, and didn't hustle Bristol off to Planned Parenthood, are enough to make them hate her with the white-hot intensity of a thousand suns. She doesn't worship at the Altar of "Choice". She's an apostate. And that scares them.

Obama and the left-wing have to rely on hate to keep their useful idiots motivated against the United States. It's right in the playbook.

Philly hockey fans are boorish and haters. OK, if you say so.

"Truth," I'm not angry about the Brewers losing to the Phillies. I am surprised the Philly fans booed "Santa Clause." They have a problem with Tim Allen?

Obama and his Left-wing supporters do rely on hate and division. That's what the campaign has been about since the primaries. Ask Bill Clinton.

FYI - Scottie Gomez is from Alaska, hence why she was at this game. Too bad Philly sounds like a bunch of angry guido jerks, wish the Rangers (Scottie's team) were playing elsewhere.

NewsBusters writes that the NYT had to pull Lynn Zinser's story because it was so misleading. There were no "almost deafening boos."

The NYT strikes again! More lies.

NewsBusters makes the same point you do, Jen. Scottie Gomez is Alaskan.

I was at the game, she got booed and booed harshly. It had too do with three reasons.
1. she was seen jogging in a rangers jersey (i know its cause he is alaskan but still)
2. it was opening night and they wanted to see some hockey, instead the game was delayed 20 minutes.
3. she was hugging all of the rangers players after and ignoring the philly people.

the fact that she got booed isn't leftist or politics. you don't politicize sport, left or right, and i would bet obama gets booed if he showed up. Oh wait he did get booed at yankee stadium last year when he went, and so did john mccain when he went. the only one who can go and not be booed is rudy.
