Ron Weisflog: The Angry Guy

(Screen grab/ FOX 6 News)

Ron Weisflog of Pewaukee is famous for being angry.

He's the "angry guy" from the October 9, 2008, McCain-Palin town hall meeting in Waukesha.

RON WEISFLOG (to John McCain and Sarah Palin): I'm mad. I'm really mad. And what's going to surprise you, it isn't the economy. It's the socialists taking over our country.

...I think it's so important in today's country what we're really missing and what's going on. When you have an Obama, Pelosi and the rest of those hooligans up there gonna run this country -- we've got to have our head examined. It's time that you two are representing us, and we are mad! So go get 'em."

He's been called a maniac by the national lib media, his face twisted and distorted with rage. He's the embodiment of the ugly McCain supporter. The local media haven't been too kind to him either.

He's their idea of a monster. Many in the media have blamed Dr. Frankenstein John McCain and his assistant Sarah "Igor" Palin for creating him.

Meet Ron Weisflog.

Video, from FOX 6 News.

MIKE LOWE, FOX 6 News: Weisflog is a 64-year-old retired home remodeler, who recently moved from Pewaukee to Naples, Florida.

RON WEISFLOG: Yes, I'm mad.

LOWE: But now, he's better known as the "angry man."

WEISFLOG: And you wonder if I was real or not, huh?

LOWE: He is real, and so is his anger, anger over taxes.

WEISFLOG: You have pride in your job. You're working to make a living. They shouldn't take it all from you and then give it to somebody else.

LOWE: But, he is furious at what he sees as an American movement toward socialism that he says is led by prominent Democrats.

WEISFLOG: This thing about we're creating a problem of being hostility and madness around our anger, or whatever... Heh, look at socialism. Do you want to live under that?

LOWE: He says he's glad he spoke out, and confident John McCain heard his message. It's an example he's urging others, who are as mad as he is, to follow.

WEISFLOG: I'm telling you to get out and speak.

LOWE: Now Weisflog said no one from the campaign contacted him ahead of time. He just says he simply raised his hand and asked to speak. He says he had no idea that his words would echo through the campaign. Live in the newsroom tonight, Mike Lowe, FOX 6 News.

KATRINA CRAVY: Mike, does he say if he's normally an angry guy, or is this just kind of out of character for him?

LOWE: You know, he says what he did at that campaign rally was really a pep talk for those conservatives who are as angry as he is about what he has seen as a movement toward socialism from prominent Democrats. So, what has kind of ticked him off is what he's seen in the Democratic Party.

CRAVY: Just to kind of get 'em fired up.

Weisflog has an opinion and he spoke out. He doesn't like the direction that the country appears to be headed, under the leadership of the Democrats. I don't see what's wrong with that. This is America. He has the right to say what he thinks. He has the right to be angry.

I don't understand why his passion for his country is being depicted as so shocking or dangerous.

The Left has been spewing their anger for the past eight years. In the past months on the campaign trail for her husband, Michelle Obama hasn't hesitated to express her anger.

I suppose it's so commonplace coming from the Left, including elected Democrats, that it's nothing noteworthy. Same old, same old.

But someone on the Right speaks out, a citizen voices his opinion, and there's an explosion of concern.

Go figure.

Mary,

Mr. Weisflog sees socialism coming and he is angry. Can you tell me from where he sees socialism coming and what he means by socialism? If he means the current plan being executed by our government then surely he should be pointing at President Bush, Secretary Paulson and the congressional leadership of both parties who designed the plan, right? And both current presidential candidates voted "yes", right? So who is his enemy and why do you think he is right to have such enemies? All I see is paranoia and projection. Mr. Obama is not a socialist. In fact, he is the most centrist of Democratic candidates and not so distinguishable from Mr. McCain's positions that any such label makes any rational sense.

Where? Right out of Obama's mouth.

http://www.breitbart.tv/html/195153.html

Obama is the most left-wing Senator in Congress no matter how somebody tries to spin it and rationalize it.

he is the most centrist of Democratic candidates

That's factually inaccurate.

Thank God the majority of Americans are not buying the manure Mr. Weisflog is selling. It's time for the people to take OUR country back. McCain is old and out of touch with reality (which is made even more clear by his choice of running mate). When Obama wins (and it won't even be close) I'm sure you will be welcomed warmly in the great state of Alaska. Oh yeah, Keating 5 ring a bell?

Between the poor economy due to Barney Frank's world credit crisis and knowing that Pelosi, Reid and Obama are in control of the government, an incredible amount of small business owners will close up and drop out until sanity prevails and these jokers are out of government for good.

We are going to experience at least 8%-10% unemployment and the government will not be able to pay all of the out of work people a living wage.

These bozos are going to prove yet again that Socialism does not work and this time the United States is going to be the lab and we are going to suffer, greatly. Paulsen and Bernanke are warning us about what is coming and since folks haven't started losing jobs in large numbers, except Pepsi employees, we don't yet get what has been foisted upon us.

Pelosi, Reid and Obama aren't equipped to handle this huge mess.

Want proof? - Pelosi derails the rescue package causing panic in the markets and runs on banks that results in the Federal Government to come up with hundreds of more billions of dollars to save the banking system in the short term. Reid says nobody knows what to do so he closes up shop and leaves. Obama still has no plan to deal with the precise problem that we have. He's still full of platitudes and propaganda. He doesn't know one single person qualified to be Sec. of the Treasury. Rubin will be back and then we're really screwed.

If families don't have enough cash on hand to survive for at least a year, they are going to have a real tough time.

The most sad thing about all of this is that the Republicans are just sitting back watching everything unfold. They are not out supporting McCain. Many of these people are econ and business savvy and hey know the wheels are going to come off. They will begin to get their power back in the first off-year election and that when this recession makes Carter's look like paradise they will gain majorities in both houses and the Presidency in 2012.

Of course I could be wrong about all of this. But I'm probably not. Don't let the upcoming rally that will preced a huge bear market give you any false hope.

Vote McCain.

Thank you, Mary, for clearly demonstrating your poor hold on what makes sense. You would not and could not tell me in what sense Socialism is being proposed and who is proposing it. You're hot air.

As for Mr. Obama's centrism: He is not opposed to the death penalty. He is for strict accountability for teachers and that their jobs should be at the mercy of performance evaluations (you will not hear that from any other democrat), he counts as his advisors Warren Buffet, Paul Volcker, and other Republicans.

As for any knee jerk reaction to charges of "redistributing the wealth," please explain to me how taxes are not a socially sanctioned, morally effective way to share the wealth for the good of the many? Socialism is not taxes. It is nationalizing almost all institutions that deliver services to the whole: insurance, electricity, gas, retirement savings, etc.

Apparently facts are fuzzy things for Freedom Cheat'em

Enough, "feodor."

You're a troll.

Mary has no more to say.

Did MyFox Milwaukee - FOX6 or the host of this site, Freedom Eden search the name "Ron Weisflog"?

If they had, they surely would have noticed the following posting at the top of the search results:
Court of Appeals of Wisconsin Appeal No.: 2005AP886 (appeal of Waukesha County Circuit Court. No. 2003CV925)
Published Opinion at:
http://www.wicourts.gov/ca/opinion/DisplayDocument.html?content=html&seqNo=25578

***The fundamental question*** for this site and its bloggers is the following: is the "Ron Weisflog" cited in http://freedomeden.blogspot.com/2008/10/ron-weisflog-angry-guy.html the same person as the "Ronald Weisflog" cited in http://www.wicourts.gov/ca/opinion/DisplayDocument.html?content=html&seqNo=25578?

The Court of Appeals of Wisconsin cites the name of Ronald R. Weisflog as a defendant in the case:

Robert Stuart and Lin Farquhar-Stuart,
Plaintiffs-Appellants-Cross-Respondents,
v.

Weisflog’s Showroom Gallery, Inc. and Ronald R. Weisflog,
Defendants-Respondents-Cross-Appellants,
American Family Mutual Insurance Co.,
Defendant-Respondent

The State of Wisconsin Appellate Court affirms that Ron Weisflog is personally responsible, and most importantly personally *liable* for his tortious conduct (misrepresentation, negligence) cited in this case. The standard protection from personal liability that is gained by incorporating a business with a state was NOT afforded to Ronald Weisflog in this case. This is exceptional.

He was sued. He fought in court. He lost. He appealed. He lost on appeal.

Here is the question: is this the SAME Ron Weisflog as the individual interviewed by FOX6 and cited by MyFox Milwaukee? [Source citation at bottom].

Ron Weisflog is angry. He's exceptionally angry. Is it possible that his anger stems in a substantive and significant degree from the decisions of the State of Wisconsin Courts, and from the pain of the costs - attorney, increased insurance costs, guilt and stress, out-of-pocket damages for which the State of Wisconsin can compel to pay - of such a case? Could he have been simply venting this anger at an October 9, 2008 town hall meeting for the Republican nominee, Senator John McCain, coincidentally in the same Wisconsin County - Waukesha where the circuit court decision against him was made? Does Ron Weisflog even understand the irony of his use of the word "socialists" in the context of the current financial and market decisions that the United States Treasury is making? Does he understand that the U.S. Treasury is a Department under the Executive Branch of the Federal Government under the currently elected President, George W. Bush?

The question remains: is this the SAME Ron Weisflog as the individual interviewed by FOX6 and cited by MyFox Milwaukee? [Source citation at bottom].

If Ron Weisflog misrepresents himself and his business (and if this is the SAME Ron Weisflog), then is it possible that he could misrepresent his anger to the Republican candidate for President and millions of voters? If this is the SAME Ronald R. Weisflog then it's AT LEAST a profound and fundamental error either due to lack of basic, standard research (journalism in the strict sense) by MIKE LOWE, FOX 6 News, and MyFox Milwaukee. Here is the supporting argument:

To what degree is Ron Weisflog biased in his statements? Confirming or eliminating the possibility that this is the SAME Ron Weisflog is crucial to our understanding of this person's bias. If it is, then the Wisconsin Court cases are relevant toward an interpretation of the interview, and specifically the following statement:

WEISFLOG: "You have pride in your job. You're working to make a living. They shouldn't take it all from you and then give it to somebody else."

AT WORST, if FOX6 knew about coincidence of names and either decided not to research to confirm/disprove the identify of interviewee Ron Weisflog, or simply did not broach the subject of the Wisconsin Court Case as it might treat the "context or source of Ron Weisflog's anger", then this constitutes a breach of journalism ethics committed by the herein-cited interviewer, MIKE LOWE, FOX 6 News, and MyFox Milwaukee.

These are big "ifs". This is a request to confirm whether or not this is the same Ron Weisflog. Please cite your source.

The Madison Capital Times confirms this is the one and the same Ron Weisflog.
See http://www.madison.com/tct/news/309144. Capital Times hyperlinked the quote:
"He's had a a less-than-satisfying experience with Wisconsin's judicial system"....
The link takes you to a Marquette University Law school site with a good explanation of the case:
http://www.jsonline.com/story/index.aspx?id=733394

You are probably right that he's angry about this. It appears that you are mistaken in your statement "He appealled". It appears that the plaintiff in the case - the Stuarts thought that the damages awareded them were low, so they appealled and were awarded $95,000.00, subject to statutory DOUBLE damages. This is the second count against Mr. Weisflog.

The coup de grace – the third count against Mr. Weisflog continues...right into summer, 2008:
Mr. Weisflog had liability insurance through American Family. Normally the insurer will pay the liability, even the attorney fees. But in THIS case, Ron Weisflog's actions constituted misrepresentation. The Supreme Court of Wisconsin reviewed this case as recently as July 2008 and affirmed that the "misrepresentation was intended" (http://www.wisbar.org/res/sup/2008/2005ap001287.htm.) and absolved American Family Insurance from having to pay the damages. Ron Weisflog's insurance WILL NOT pay for the damages - Ron Weisflog pays!

Nobody but Ron Weisflog can claim to know, but there is a strong argument that this civil case is a primary motivation for Ron Weisflog's anger.

You are terrific !!
I just saw you on FOX Nov 3,2008.

I agreed with everything you just said..
I am shocked how uniformed Democrats are in not knowing who really Obama is or what his agenda really is about.

What a nut this guy is and those that follow him....crazy.....

Followers of Weisflog?

What are you talking about?

I have known Ron since the early 60's and your nasty comments are just that, nasty, because you don't know him.

His business mdealing have nothing to do with his political opinions concering Republicans vs. Demoncrats.

He had his business for many years and there are probably hundreds of people who were very happy with his work. I have friends that he worked with, and thought he was spectacular! So, this one couple are not an example of the majority of his clients.

An old friend.

Mr. Weisflog should consider the Left's attempts to slime him to be a badge of honor.

Look at what they've done to Joe the Plumber.

Look at what they've done to Sarah Palin.

Obviously, Leftists have considered Mr. Weisflog to be a threat to their efforts to get Obama elected or they wouldn't have lashed out this way.
