Bill Maher: Obama, Drudge, and Subliminal Racism

Bill Maher thinks racism plays a factor in how conservatives react to Obama, even if it's just a subliminal thing.

Maher says examples of Drudge headlines are revealing:

This is funny, but only to a certain extent, because charges of racism are being tossed around by Obama supporters.

Maureen Dowd didn't hesitate to call Joe Wilson a racist for calling out Obama for lying.

Surrounded by middle-aged white guys — a sepia snapshot of the days when such pols ran Washington like their own men’s club — Joe Wilson yelled “You lie!” at a president who didn’t.

But, fair or not, what I heard was an unspoken word in the air: You lie, boy!

...Some people just can’t believe a black man is president and will never accept it.

There are plenty of other similar examples. Here are just a few:
Keith Olbermann

David Sirota

Janeane Garofalo

Chris Matthews

NAACP Chairman Julian Bond

New York Gov. David Paterson

I think these libs leveling the racism accusations are really just cases of the pot calling the kettle black.

Many have no problem when libs engage in disgusting displays of racism. Racist imagery is justified when the target is a black conservative.

The sad fact is that the black man (well 1/2 black man) who was elected to represent black advancement in society was Dear Leader. Dear Leader is the product of a notoriously corrupt Chicago political machine. Dear Leader surrounds himself with communists, social misfits in the Black Panther Party and a host of nere-do-wells. He's not the poster child for anything good or moral and here he is, representing black people's "great hope" and example.

The example we've seen early in his presidency is one of corruption, back room deals with organized labor that would make Jimmy Hoffa blush, the widening scandal with ACORN, and thugish tactics to try and get bills to socialize America rammed through the legislature.

There are a number of excellent black role models who could have been president. It's a tragedy that this black man was the one selected - and of course, it's racist to suggest that?

Sigh. Looks like the Obama fanboys love to play the race card.
