Walker Protesters, MLK Event

The anti-Scott Walker forces may have gone a hiss too far this time.

From the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel, via a Twitter link that should not count against the LIMITED ACCESS POLICY of 20 articles per month:

Protesters hissed and chanted "shame" at Gov. Scott Walker after he read a proclamation at the state's official Martin Luther King Jr. Day holiday ceremony in the Capitol rotunda.

Walker spoke briefly at the event Monday afternoon that attracted hundreds of people and featured a gospel choir from Chicago, a youth choir from Madison and a keynote speech from University of Maryland law professor Sherrilyn Ifill.

She elicited loud applause during her comments when she said that King would not have approved of laws requiring voters to present photo identification at the polls. Walker signed a photo ID law last year.

Ifill also drew applause when she said King would have stood up for worker rights.

Gee, are we sure the protesters weren't shouting "shame" about the MLK proclamation?

Racist slobs!

No, of course, it was yet another instance of disgraceful behavior by the anti-Walker thugs.

They have no sense of decency whatsoever.

Disrupting the event at the Capitol showed disrespect for Martin Luther King, Jr., not Governor Walker.

Does anyone think Dr. King would approve of such boorish tactics?

This should come as no surprise. These protester thugs are utterly selfish.

They protested at a Special Olympics event honoring the athletes. They protested at the opening ceremonies for the Wisconsin State Fair. No concern whatsoever for those in attendance. Zero.

But to disrupt the Martin Luther King, Jr. Day ceremony at the Capitol seems to cross the line of even their twisted morals.

Apparently, nothing is sacred to them, other than their union power.

I would hope the Leftists would speak out against this disgusting behavior by their "hate Walker" brethren.

"The ultimate tragedy is not the oppression and cruelty by the bad people but the silence over that by the good people."

--MARTIN LUTHER KING, JR

Are there no "good" people on the Left?

This is the problem: the average citizen would agree with your point regarding this behavior. The average citizen would be disgusted by the disruption of an MLK or Special Olympics ceremony by people full of hatred and devoid of civility. BUT: They just dont hear about it! I know several people that are relatively moderate but just cant believe that these things happen all the time. The press does a good job of hiding the ugly side of the recall effort.

Walker needs to put a montage video of the entitled, rude, hatred filled behavior from the lefties over the past year and play it in every market in the state. When people see the recall efforts ugly behavior and compare it to Walker's steady and calm demeanor (and policies that are working), he will win them over.

That's a good idea.

Reality is the Left's worst enemy.
