Tom Barrett: In the Boxing Ring

Milwaukee Mayor Tom Barrett and wannabe governor of Wisconsin claims to want to end the state's "civil war."

There's a problem with this: The face Barrett puts on for the TV ad differs dramatically from his behind the scenes persona.

His message is completely different. Civility is tossed out the window.

Listen to what the real Barrett has to say.

Barrett wants to appear like a tough guy. He wants to appear capable of violence. He wants to get in the "boxing ring." He wants to fight and "take it to 'em." He promises to get the State Assembly "quaking in their boots" if they don't bow to his pressure.

Instead of pledging to attack Walker and the Republicans, why hasn't he channeled his anger into attacking the problems that plague his city?

Barrett should "take it" to the thugs terrorizing law-abiding citizens. He should get the thugs "quaking in their boots" and quit wringing his hands and accepting Milwaukee's decline.

Unfortunately, Barrett reserves his outrage for Walker. He allows his emotions to boil over when trying to win political support.

Bottom line: Barrett's "end the civil war" ad is a joke. He's a hypocrite.

I just can't take Barrett seriously. He is such a failure as a leader. He's as ineffective as he is insincere.
