If you live in Wisconsin, you know Tony Evers is doing an awful job managing the COVID-19 crisis. (Where are the vaccines, Tony?)

Evers is a liar. He doesn't keep his promises. He's been playing politics with our health for nearly a year. If Evers followed the science, public schools would be open.

Furthermore, putting an end to Evers' alleged public health emergency powers doesn't mean that masks won't be worn in Wisconsin. Businesses require masks. Churches require masks. I can't think of any place I go that doesn't require people to wear masks.

It's important to remember that there are many threats to Wisconsinites. COVID-19 isn't the only danger to our lives. An unconstitutional power grab is a threat to Wisconsinites, too.

Leah Vukmir - Not a RINO

Dan O'Donnell writes that the Club for Growth sent a "highly misleading email to supporters, urging them to donate to Kevin Nicholson's Senate campaign by claiming that State Sen. Leah Vukmir, Nicholson's opponent in the Republican primary, is a 'RINO.'"

From the Club for Growth email:

Wisconsin offers another conservative vs. RINO primary and a chance to pick up a GOP seat in a swing state. As a US Marine who served in Iraq and Afghanistan and a private businessman, Kevin Nicholson knows a thing or two about making America great. He is running against career politician State Sen. Leah Vukmir in the Republican Primary and against progressive Sen. Tammy Baldwin in the general.

This isn't going to play well in Wisconsin.

We know Leah Vukmir. We know she's not a RINO. Good grief.

There is no way I would consider Vukmir the RINO in the race.

The career politician label doesn't apply either.

Vukmir is a registered nurse and a pediatric nurse practitioner, spending more than 25 years in the field. She was first elected to the Assembly in 2002.

Vukmir has extensive experience in nursing as well as politics. The term 'career politician' distorts the reality of her life's work.

Kevin Nicholson needs to disavow the claims in the email, because they're false.

WI Assembly Passes Pain-Capable Unborn Child Protection Act

Good news in the fight to protect human life. It's a positive development in the battle against a culture bent on denying the humanity of the preborn.

The Wisconsin Assembly passed the Pain-Capable Unborn Child Protection Act on Thursday.

From Wisconsin Right to Life:

"Wisconsin Right to Life thanks the Assembly for passing the Pain-Capable Unborn Child Protection Act today," stated Heather Weininger, Executive Director of Wisconsin Right to Life. "We are thrilled that this historic and lifesaving bill will be signed into law."

Substantial medical evidence demonstrates that unborn children are capable of experiencing pain by 20 weeks after fertilization at the latest. At this time, all the physical structures necessary to experience pain have developed. Abortion methods used at 20 weeks and further into pregnancy, most commonly the D&E method where the child is dismembered limb by limb, are extremely painful to the unborn child.

Eleven states effectively protect pain-capable unborn children, and Wisconsin is now well on its way to becoming the twelfth.

"We thank the Pain-Capable Unborn Child Protection Act's authors Senator Mary Lazich and Representatives Jesse Kremer, Joe Sanfelippo, and Joan Ballweg for their leadership on this bill," continued Weininger. "These leaders recognize the compelling state interest in protecting the lives of pain-capable unborn children, and now we will soon protect up to 89 babies a year from the pain of abortion."

Scott Walker, soon-to-be officially declared candidate for president of the United States, shared his thanks with the members of the Assembly responsible for passing the legislation.

It is unacceptable for pro-abortion proponents, like Obama and other Leftists, to use euphemisms and outright lies when supporting the slaughter of the preborn.

Blaze Pink Wisconsin

From the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel:

Wisconsin hunters likely would be the first in the nation allowed to wear blaze pink instead of the traditional orange in the woods under a bill announced Wednesday by a Republican and a Democrat.

State Reps. Joel Kleefisch (R-Oconomowoc) and Nick Milroy (D-South Range) said at a Capitol news conference they hoped the attire would encourage more Wisconsinites to hunt and appeal to women and new hunters.

"Wisconsin has historically had some of the highest participation rates in hunting... and we've seen a decrease in this number in recent years," Milroy said. "It's my hope that this will become universally acceptable and create revenue for some of these programs that we're talking about.

...Majid Sarmadi, a University of Wisconsin-Madison professor and textile expert, said his lab analysis of flourescent pink proved it had similar or better visibility to humans as blaze orange, and therefore would be just as safe for hunters to wear.

...Kleefisch said the real question is about the role of the state government.

"What we're doing is giving hunters another potential option," Kleefisch said. "We're getting government out of the way of a couple color choices that people use in the woods. The private sector's going to take over the rest."

If blaze pink is a safe option for hunters, then I have no problem with it.

However, I really don't think the introduction of pink attire is going to attract more women to hunting.

I doubt any woman stayed away from hunting because she didn't like blaze orange. Is a woman going to take up the sport because now she can wear blaze pink?

I agree with Kleefisch. Get the government out of the way.

Will this move make a significant difference in hunting participation?

I doubt it, though it does draw publicity and that might be a bit helpful in encouraging women to hunt.

Some men might be interested in wearing blaze pink, too.

Josh Zepnick's Parents Frightened By Knock At Door

I don't want to make fun of an elderly citizen frightened by someone knocking at the door at 7:00 PM.

Instead, I'll address FOX6 News and Josh Zepnick, the Wisconsin Assemblyman who threatened Dave Sobelman.

Here's the story as reported by FOX6:

A Milwaukee couple says they were unfairly frightened by a canvasser who came to their door, hoping to get their signatures in an ongoing petition drive against the proposed downtown Milwaukee streetcar — and they happen to be parents of state Rep. Josh Zepnick.

Rep. Josh Zepnick (D-Milwaukee) says he’s not playing politics. Rather, he says he’s simply protecting his parents.

It was Thursday evening, January 22nd, around 7:00 p.m. when Jeri Zepnick heard a knock at her door.

“I heard this pounding on my front door. I got so scared! I thought somebody was breaking into the house,” Jeri Zepnick said.

Jeri Zepnick and her husband were visited by a petitioner, requesting their signatures on a petition against the proposed downtown Milwaukee streetcar. But that didn’t matter.

“That scared me half to death! I said, ‘don`t you ever come back to this house again pounding on the door like that,'” Jeri Zepnick said.

Jeri Zepnick’s son is Rep. Josh Zepnick. He says during his political career, he’s done plenty of canvassing. What happened to his parents, he says, isn’t the right way to address any issue.

“Respecting peoples` privacy is also a big issue, and it`s one that, you know, supersedes how passionate you are on the debate,” Rep. Zepnick said.

It's flat-out embarrassing that Josh Zepnick would turn a knock at the door into a newsworthy matter. It's embarrassing that he would exploit his mother this way.

Equally embarrassing: FOX6 News spent two minutes of the newscast on an elderly person being frightened by someone knocking at her door.

That's loony.

Politicians do go door to door. People circulating petitions do go door to door.

They do knock.

That's not a violation of one's privacy.

It's unfortunate that Jeri Zepnick was terrified, but this story should not have been on the news.

It doesn't appear that Jeri Zepnick was all that frightened. She answered the door and yelled at the canvasser. Someone "scared to death" wouldn't open her door and address the individual she supposedly thought was breaking into her home. She'd call 911. She certainly wouldn't open the door.

This story makes Josh Zepnick look crazy.

And FOX6, what is wrong with you? Sending a reporter out to interview someone claiming to be scared by a knock at the door?

Wow.

Sobelman's, Josh Zepnick, and the Streetcar

Josh Zepnick, state representative for Wisconsin's 9th Assembly District on Milwaukee's south side, has a problem with Dave Sobelman, owner of Sobelman's Pub and Grill.

Why?

Sobelman does not support the idioitic Milwaukee streetcar project.

Sobelman's remarks are measured and reasonable.

There is an overwhelming amount of people against this project, but the proponents pretend not to hear them. Let me help get the word out.

We don't need to spend $124 million on a streetcar that runs in a 2.5-mile circle where we already have public transportation!

As a small business owner with a little experience, I would never waste my own money on this and I don't think those proponents would either. The mayor says he's betting on the future of this city. The problem is he's not doing it with his own money.

Sobelman is right.

The proponents refuse to listen to the people. They act as if there is no opposition.

In response to a Facebook post citing the Biz Journal piece and suggesting a boycott of Sobelman's, Zepnick wrote:

"Ain't noboday got time for that!!! Sobelman really piss me off on this one. Talk about no civic pride for a place that profits off my city...good food, but you go there: its crowded, staff is snotty/cranky all the frickin time, parking sucks, and its not safe at night. Hope City reconsiders his sidewalk seating permit for this summer!!! bwah ha ha..."

Yikes! (Zepnick has a problem with "its" and "it's.")

That's a state representative's response to a city business owner giving his opinion on the city's multi-million dollar boondoggle?

Inappropriate.

I can't imagine anyone being so crazy as to deny one's self a Sobelman's burger and boycotting the business because Dave Sobelman doesn't support the streetcar.

Actually, I've never had a quad, but I am hungry for Sobelman's.

Dr. David W. Jones and Gordon Hintz: BUSTED

Gordon Hintz, DEMOCRAT Wisconsin assemblyman, appears to have a campaign treasurer in violation of ethics laws.

Brian Sikma, Media Trackers, reports that Dr. David W. Jones, the campaign treasurer of Hintz and chair of the University of Wisconsin – Oshkosh's Department of Criminal Justice, has used his taxpayer-funded email account for political activity.

Sikma writes:

The man who serves as the campaign treasurer for state Rep. Gordon Hintz, an Oshkosh Democrat, appears to have violated an important ethics law. When government employees in Milwaukee County did something similar to what he’s done, they faced the threat of prosecution and one official was found guilty of a felony misconduct in public office.

Dr. David W. Jones is the chair of the University of Wisconsin – Oshkosh’s Department of Criminal Justice. He is also treasurer of the Hintz for Assembly committee, and on official campaign finance reports going back as far as 2008 he lists his contact e-mail address as “jonesd@uwosh.edu.”

According to e-mails turned up by an extensive open records request filed by Media Trackers, Jones frequently uses his UW-Oshkosh e-mail account to keep track of campaign finance business. Because UW-Oshkosh is a publicly funded university backed by state government, Jones is a public employee and his e-mail address is a government resource.

It's clear that Jones used a government email account for political work.

That's not OK.

When individuals working for Republican candidates engaged in similar activity, they were charged and suffered as a result of their transgressions.

So what's going to happen to Jones?

Will the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel and other local media splash the story, or will it be ignored for as along as possible?

Hintz should be running away in shame.

DEMOCRAT Wisconsin State Representative Gordon Hintz has serious behavioral issues. He does not conduct himself in a manner befitting an elected official.

He has an abusive streak when it comes to how he interacts with women.

Last week, we learned that Hintz was cited under a city sexual misconduct ordinance.

From the Appleton Post-Crescent:

Appleton police say a municipal citation they issued to state Rep. Gordon Hintz earlier this month is connected to a prostitution investigation involving an Appleton massage parlor.

The 37-year-old Oshkosh Democrat was arrested Feb. 10 and cited the next day under a city sexual misconduct ordinance. He is scheduled to appear April 27 in front of an Outagamie County court commissioner.

...Records say Hintz was accused of violating an Appleton city ordinance against touching or offering to touch sexual parts.

Police searched Heavenly Touch Massage Parlor, 342 W. Wisconsin Ave., and a nearby residence, 1319½ N. Division St., on Jan. 28. Investigators had staked out the properties for several days after receiving a tip that illegal activity was taking place at the home.

The raid netted six arrests, and police seized a vehicle and other property. Four women were booked into the Outagamie County Jail and two other women were arrested but not jailed.

"We made a number of arrests … and now (we issued) the ticket to Mr. Hintz," DeWall said. "But it's still an open investigation."

OK. That's creepy.

As creepy as Hintz's alleged behavior at the Heavenly Touch Massage Parlor is, I find what he said to REPUBLICAN Wisconsin State Representative Michelle Litjens to be even worse.

Last Friday, after the Assembly engrosssed Governor Scott Walker's budget repair plan, DEMOCRAT Hintz threatened Litjens.

Hintz said to Litjens: "You are f---ing dead!"

Hintz didn't just use an expletive when speaking to Litjens. That's bad enough. But what's worse is how he bullied her in a very frightening fashion.

"You are f---ing dead!"

"F---ING DEAD"!

What is wrong with him?

Does he aspire to be Rahm Emanuel?

Hintz treats women abusively. Clearly, he fails to show a female colleague in the Assembly the respect she deserves.

"You are f---ing dead!" is not an appropriate way to express disagreement on a matter before the Assembly.

Has Hintz been spending too much time hanging out with the union thugs and socialists occupying the Capitol?

Speaking of unions, I wonder if the "workers" at the Heavenly Touch Massage Parlor are protected by a union. Do they have collective bargaining rights for wages? What about health care and pension benefits?

Certainly, Hintz reacts very passionately when it comes to protecting workers.

I assume Hintz cares very deeply about the working conditions at the Heavenly Touch Massage Parlor.

Hintz Monday said he called Litjens to apologize but said he could not “confirm that quote.” He said his comments came following 58 hours of debate on the Assembly floor and after the Republicans broke procedural rules in taking the vote before many Democrats had a chance to vote.

“I believe my response was shock. The only way they were going to pass this bill was by ignoring and shredding rules of the Assembly,” Hintz said. “I apologized when I learned my comments may have been taken personally by someone.”

That's not much of an apology.

"You are f---ing dead."

His comments MAY have been taken personally?

Hintz, when tell someone "You are f---ing dead," expect the individual to take it personally.

Girl, 10, Shot on Milwaukee Playground, Flynn and Barrett Angry

More gun violence in Milwaukee...

From FOX6 News:

Milwaukee police say an 10-year-old girl was shot while on a playground on Wednesday evening, May 21st — near N. 28th Street and Clarke Street in Milwaukee.

The shooting happened around 7:15 p.m. — on the playground of the Clarke Street School.

Police say their preliminary investigation indicates two individuals were shooting at each other, when the child was caught in the crossfire — and shot.

...FOX6 News spoke with a woman who says she’s the young girl’s aunt. That woman told FOX6 News the girl was shot in the head, the leg, and the knee — and was in surgery Wednesday night at Children’s.

There have been so many shootings in Milwaukee recently.

Kids are being shot.

The thugs doing the shooting obviously don't care.

It seems some in Milwaukee were never taught right from wrong; or if they were taught, they've rejected that teaching, choosing to behave in a criminal fashion.

It's hard to maintain order when members of society have no respect for the law.

Milwaukee Police Chief Ed Flynn was angry when he spoke to the press. Not Obama VA scandal angry. Flynn seemed genuinely angry.

“Tonight, two so-called young men felt the need to engage in a shootout without any regard for the lives of children playing nearby,” Milwaukee Police Chief Ed Flynn said at the scene on Wednesday evening.

...“Sooner or later people enough gotta be enough! It`s not enough to complain about our tactics. It`s not enough to tell us we`re putting too many people in jail. We need you — the community, to help us solve this crime and to tell your young men to put the guns down!” Chief Flynn said.

...“I need the same Governor and the same state Legislature that found money to help us expand our ShotSpotter, the ShotSpotter that directed us to this location — to pass a law that makes these little monsters afraid to get locked up for possessing a gun. I need felony time for a felony crime of illegally carrying a firearm,” Chief Flynn said.

Milwaukee's mayor, Tom Barrett was also angry.

Mayor Barrett issued the following statement on this shooting:

“The thugs who thought nothing of having a gunfight on a playground need to be locked up for a very, very long time. Right now these gunslingers believe that there are no consequences to walking the streets armed and shooting whenever the mood strikes them. It’s time for the Governor and Legislature to go into special session and pass mandatory minimum sentences for gun crimes and to come down hard on those who value life so little.”

Yes, enough is enough.

The dysfunctional Milwaukee community needs to take responsibility and start demanding that its members behave responsibly.

As Flynn says, "We need you — the community, to help us solve this crime and to tell your young men to put the guns down!"

That doesn't happen, certainly not enough if it does happen.

If a friend or family member of mine was engaged in this sort of criminal behavior, I wouldn't ignore it. I would cooperate with police. I would turn him in. If I didn't, I would have blood on my hands. I would do what's right, and not enable a thug.

Something like a march for peace on the streets is nice, but it's ineffective. Symbolic gestures like that aren't keeping kids from getting shot.

Unfortunately, both Flynn and Barrett continue to blame Governor Walker and the state Legislature for the violence.

Their fingerpointing is off the mark. Some of their anger is misdirected.

The thugs are engaging in criminal behavior. They are breaking laws, but Flynn and Barrett say the solution is to have tougher laws. In other words, what we have now allows innocent children to be shot.

Note to Flynn and Barrett: These animals will break new laws, too.

According to Flynn and Barrett, Governor Walker and the Legislature are to blame. None of this bloodshed would be happening if they weren't dropping the ball.

That, of course, is ridiculous.

It would be great if simply passing a law would make this all stop, but it won't.

Let's be honest. The real problem is the destruction of intact families, an outgrowth of the failed War on Poverty. We now are seeing the fruits of a failed experiment that created generations of dysfunction.

The family has a purpose in the functioning of society. The family unit provides social structure. It upholds social order.

Without stable families, we get thugs and 10-year-old little girls get shot playing at a playground in daylight.

This shouldn't be politicized. Thugs running amok shouldn't be exploited to attack Walker and Republicans.

Blame the thugs, not guns and certainly not Walker. Be angry at the thugs, not the Legislature. Hold the thugs accountable for breaking the law. Be angry at a judicial system that fails to lock up the thugs and protect law-abiding men, women, and children.

The fact is there are too many bad people in Milwaukee choosing to do bad things. And, there are way too many people in Milwaukee enabling these bad people, the thugs, by being unwilling to turn them in to police.

No more excuses. Hold people accountable.

If someone gave me a gun, I would never choose to use it in a criminal manner. I wouldn't shoot an 10-year-old girl while she played. No innocent person would get caught in crossfire because there wouldn't be any crossfire. That would never happen. Never.

Why?

I'm not a thug. I know the difference between right and wrong, and I choose to do what's right.

Laws do not stop me from behaving badly. My conscience does.

Here's Hulsey's latest disgusting stunt, from AP, via FOX News:

Democratic candidate for governor Brett Hulsey plans to hand out white Ku Klux Klan-style hoods to Wisconsin Republicans as they gather for their annual convention Friday to highlight what he says are their racist policies.

Hulsey, a state representative from Madison who is white, came into the state Capitol press room on Thursday to show off a hood he says he made with his daughter's sewing machine using curtain material he purchased for $1.

"It's a Wisconsin Republican Party hat," Hulsey said. "And people can interpret it any way they want."

When asked whether he was serious, trying to be funny or provocative, Hulsey answered: "All of the above."

Hulsey, a two-term state representative, is running a long-shot campaign for the Democratic nomination against the better-funded and more broadly supported candidate Mary Burke. She is a former state commerce secretary and Trek Bicycle Corp. executive. Her campaign spokesman Joe Zepecki called Hulsey's latest stunt "completely unacceptable and totally inappropriate."

Hulsey has a history of outlandish behavior.

Hulsey contemplated bringing a musket onto the Assembly floor to call attention to GOP policies, like legalizing carrying concealed weapons, that he opposed. Last year, one of his legislative staffers told police she feared for her safety because he brought a box-cutter to the office.

In 2012, Hulsey pleaded no contest to a disorderly conduct citation after police accused him of flipping a 9-year-old boy off an inner tube at a Madison beach and taking pictures of the child. Hulsey told police he just walked by the boy and didn't "touch or molest him." He also said he needed to point his camera toward the boy in order to get a shot of a sailboat and the sunset.

To say Hulsey is a pervert and a creep and a weirdo is an insult to perverts, creeps, and weirdos.

He calls his KKK hood creation a "Wisconsin Republican Party hat."

Disgusting.

...Wisconsin Republican Party executive director Joe Fadness called Hulsey's plan to hand out the hoods a "reprehensible, vile stunt" that should outrage everyone.

Hulsey said he was trying to highlight what he called racist Republican policies to require photo identification at the polls, a law struck down in federal court on Tuesday as unconstitutional because of how it would affect minorities, passage of a law making it more difficult to force schools to remove American Indian mascots and cuts to public school funding.

"They need to own up to their racism, which is what I am trying to highlight," Hulsey said.

DEMOCRAT Hulsey brings shame to his party. He's not the only Dem to be an embarrassment.

What does Mary Burke, fellow DEMOCRAT and fellow candidate for governor, have to say about her opponent Hulsey's KKK hood sewing projects and plans to distribute?

Her campaign spokesman did criticize Hulsey's stunt, but we don't hear her say much. For instance, Burke refuses to say she would repeal Act 10. Do Dems support Act 10 now?  Apparently, Burke does. But I digress.

I wonder if Hulsey was inspired by Hank Aaron's recent comments about Republicans being like KKK members. Perhaps.

These Democrats are out of control.

Brett Hulsey is challenging wealthy Democrat Madison school board member Mary Burke to be the Democrat nominee for governor of Wisconsin.

The unpredictable political career of state Rep. Brett Hulsey took another unusual turn Monday, when the seldom-dull Democratic lawmaker from Madison suddenly announced that he plans to run for governor.

“It’s not raining today, so it’s a beautiful day for a red convertible,” Hulsey said early Monday, referring to the red convertible he bought with campaign contributions and which he says is for use on the campaign trail. He made the comment shortly before the area was hit with a downpour.

Hulsey’s latest move means that at least four Democrats could face off in the Aug. 12 gubernatorial primary. Madison School Board member and former Trek Bicycle executive Mary Burke, who previously served as commerce secretary under Democratic Gov. Jim Doyle, is seen as the presumed nominee; Brookfield doctor Hariprasad Trivedi and Marcia Mercedes Perkins of Milwaukee are also in the race.

...Speculation has been swirling for months that Hulsey, 54, would not seek re-election to his seat in the state Assembly — which he has held since 2011 — largely because of erratic behavior that has drawn criticism, even from fellow Democrats.

That has included a July 2012 incident at a Madison beach in which he toppled a 9-year-old boy using a flotation device and allegedly took pictures of him. Hulsey pleaded no contest to disorderly conduct but repeatedly has said the allegations were linked to political enemies trying to undermine him.

Hulsey also faced another investigation last year after he brought a box cutter to the Capitol and threatened to bring his muzzleloader.

Capitol Police began investigating Hulsey in February 2013 after his then-aide said he was acting erratically and she feared for her safety. The aide was later reassigned to another Democratic lawmaker’s office.

The Democrats are in desperate straits.

To say Madison school board member Mary Burke and the odd Brett Hulsey are not strong candidates is an understatement.

That would makes as much sense as electing someone like Mary Burke.

Christine Sinicki: Arrest Warrants

Rep. Christine Sinicki, DEMOCRAT, is wanted by the St. Francis Police. Two warrants for her arrest were issued April 8, 2013.

As was first reported on Tuesday afternoon by Milwaukee radio host Mark Belling, state Rep. Christine Sinicki (D) has two outstanding warrants in the City of St. Francis according to court documents. Records obtained by Media Trackers from the City of St. Francis, a suburb of Milwaukee, show the municipality issued two arrest warrants for Sinick on April 8th of 2013.

St. Francis Municipal Judge Peter C Hemmer signed the warrants that read in part:

NOW, THEREFORE, you are hereby commanded to arrest said, Christine M Sinicki , and bring him/her forthwith before said Court to answer unto said City and to be dealt with according to law; and you are commanded to give due notice of said arrest to the Clerk of the above-named Municipal Court.

The warrants are for operating a vehicle after revocation/suspension of registration and operating a vehicle without insurance. St. Francis Police confirmed that neither warrant has been executed yet.

Sinicki certainly makes a lot of "honest mistakes."

Good grief.

Sinicki shouldn't be that hard to find. Why issue warrants if they aren't meant to be executed?
