Felix Harris: ACORN Employee of the Year

Here's the latest on the undercover investigation of ACORN:

James O'Keefe has declared Felix Harris of Los Angeles ACORN to be the Employee of the Year.

At Big Government, O'Keefe writes:

Although Mr. Felix D. Harris of Los Angeles ACORN told us he didn’t care about our prostitution business in regards to a housing loan, he drew the line when we spoke about the underage girls. Although he did not kick us out, he was the only employee in our nationwide ACORN child prostitution investigation who would not assist us.

For his leadership, superior ethics, unwavering integrity, compassion for young women, and for serving as a shining beacon of inspiration for his fellow ACORN employees, I am honored to present Felix Harris, program director at ACORN Housing, with the humble award of ACORN EMPLOYEE OF THE YEAR.

Video.

It is amazing to watch this video of all those ACORN workers across the country offer assistance to O'Keefe and Hannah Giles, posing as a pimp and prostitute trying to set up a prostitution business using underage girls -- our tax dollars at work.

ACORN Sting Team: NEW Video, Philadelphia Office

We have more ACORN video from James O'Keefe and Hannah Giles.

From FOX News:

The two independent filmmakers who posed as a pimp and a prostitute and received advice from ACORN employees in five cities on how to skirt tax and immigration laws claim the community organizer group lied when it said the pair were shown the door without receiving assistance from staffers in its Philadelphia office.

The new eight-minute video depicts O'Keefe and Giles entering ACORN's Philadelphia office and meeting with Conway-Russell. O'Keefe and Giles are seen speaking with Conway-Russell, but audio portions of the video are missing or edited in some portions. O'Keefe is heard mentioning he doesn't "want to get in trouble with authorities," and he mentions individuals will be frequently coming in and out of the building they hoped to secure, an apparent reference to the purported prostitution business to operate there. Clips of news reports featuring Conway-Russell and ACORN's chief executive, Bertha Lewis, claiming the pair were kicked out of the office were then shown.

ACORN Philadelphia Prostitution Investigation Part I

The Leftist media need to clarify that their reports were false.

Moreover, these new revelations prompt Congress to act to extend its defunding of this corrupt organization.

FEDERAL FUNDING for ACORN will resume at midnight on October 31.

I do not want ACORN receiving my tax dollars again.

James O'Keefe and Hannah Giles news conference, October 21, 2009

JAMES O'KEEFE: America, ACORN lied to you. The employee in question lied to you. Bertha Lewis lied to you. The president of the Philadelphia organization lied to you. The head organizer in Philadelphia lied to you.

What would we do without FOX News and Andrew Breitbart?

Breitbart: ACORN Plan

Andrew Breitbart explains the political art behind the roll out of the explosive ACORN exposé filmed by James O'Keefe.

From the Washington Times:

Everything you needed to know about the unorthodox roll out of the now-notorious ACORN sting videos was hidden in plain sight in my Sept. 7 column, "Katie Couric, Look in the Mirror." ACORN was not the only target of those videos; so were Katie, Brian, Charlie and every other mainstream media pooh-bah.

They were not going to report this blockbuster unless they were forced to. And they were. What's more, it ain't over yet. Not every hint I dropped in that piece about what was to come has played itself out yet. Stay tuned.

When filmmaker and provocateur James O'Keefe came to my office to show me the video of him and his friend, Hannah Giles, going to the Baltimore offices of ACORN - the nation's foremost "community organizers" - dressed as a pimp and a prostitute and asking for - and getting - help for various illegal activities, he sought my advice. In the past, Mr. O'Keefe created brilliant social satire that rocked his college campus and even made its way on to the talk-radio and cable-news shows, but the magnitude of his latest adventure had the potential to rock the political establishment.

I was awed by Mr. O'Keefe's guts and amazed by the footage, but explained that the mainstream media would try to kill this important and illuminating expose about a corrupt and criminal political racket, and that the well-funded political left would go into "war room" mode, with 25-year-old Mr. O'Keefe and 20-year-old cohort Miss Giles in the cross hairs. I felt I had a moral obligation to protect these young muckrakers from the left and from the media, and to devise a strategy that would force the media's hand.

Once the American public saw with its own eyes the grotesque, common practices of ACORN's housing offices, Mr. O'Keefe and Miss Giles could no longer be a legitimate focus of media scrutiny. Kill the messenger doesn't work with the American people when they realize that the message is so devastating and honest. I think the video exposed the misuse of public funds and systemic manipulation of the tax code in the name of "helping the poor."

If Mr. O'Keefe dumped the videos on YouTube, the political powers would have killed the expose before it got traction.

...We had to devise a plan that would force the media to see the evidence before they had enough time to destroy these two idealistic 20-something truth seekers. Mr. O'Keefe agreed to post the full audio and full transcript of his video experiences at BigGovernment.com.

Thus was born a multimedia, multiplatform strategy designed to force the reluctant hands of ABC, CBS, NBC, the New York Times and The Washington Post.

Breitbart's strategy worked.

Of course, like many Americans, I was stunned by the brazen disrespect for the law displayed by ACORN employees from sea to shining sea. I'm outraged about the use of tax dollars to fund such a corrupt operation as ACORN.

Andrew Breitbart, James O'Keefe, and Hannah Giles did the nation a great service, though I doubt that they will ever be given their due.

Don't expect them to be treated like heroes and become cult figures, à la Bob Woodward and Carl Bernstein, certainly not in mainstream media circles or within the bubble that's home to the liberal elite.

The exposé of ACORN stands on its own as brilliant investigative journalism.

But then there's the exposé behind the exposé.

There's something terribly wrong with the press in this country when someone like Breitbart correctly assesses it's a given that a story as huge as the ACORN scandal would be spiked unless the media were forced into submission.

The fact that Breitbart had to devise a plan in order for the revelations about ACORN to receive the media attention they deserved is really pathetic. The media literally had to be forced to cover the ACORN scandal.

Breitbart deserves tremendous credit for playing the media perfectly. He knew what he had to do and he prevailed.

I think it's awful that the roll out plan was necessary.

In a way, I think it's the exposé behind the exposé that is most devastating.

Americans have seen, with absolute certitude, that ACORN is corrupt and undeserving of federal funding.

We've also seen unequivocally that the mainstream media are undeserving of our trust. Propagandists, without a doubt.

ACORN: BUSTED.

"Katie, Brian, Charlie and every other mainstream media pooh-bah": BUSTED.

OBAMA: BUSTED.

Well done, Andrew Breitbart.

Obama dodges George Stephanopoulos' questions about ACORN during the interview that aired on Sunday's This Week.

Obama seems ticked off that Stephanopoulos is raising a "FOX News" issue. How dare he!

Transcript

OBAMA: I think they're wrong. The one thing I hope is, is that we can have a civil argument about it and that we are able to acknowledge good motives on both sides. Everybody is a patriot. Each of us are Americans that care deeply about this country. And -- and sometimes I think that, frankly, the media encourages some of the outliers in behavior, because, let's face it, the easiest way to get on television right now is to be really rude. If you're just being sensible and giving people the benefit of the doubt and you're making your arguments, you don't -- you don't get -- you don't get time on the nightly news.

STEPHANOPOULOS: You might on Sunday morning, but…

OBAMA: But if you -- if you say something outrageous, you're there in a hot second.

STEPHANOPOULOS: But if you're – have some of your allies made it easier for -- handed your opponents some ammunition, like ACORN, for example...

OBAMA: Well, look, the -- you know, I think that -- are there folks in the Democratic camp or on the left who haven't -- haven't always operated ways that I'd appreciate?

Absolutely.

STEPHANOPOULOS: Congress has just cut off...

OBAMA: Is -- is...

STEPHANOPOULOS: ...all funding for ACORN.

OBAMA: It's...

STEPHANOPOULOS: Are you for that?

OBAMA: Is that true on the other side, as well?

Of course that's true.

STEPHANOPOULOS: How about the funding for ACORN?

OBAMA: You know, if -- frankly, it's not really something I've followed closely. I didn't even know that ACORN was getting a whole lot of federal money.

STEPHANOPOULOS: Both the Senate and the House have voted to cut it off.

OBAMA: You know, what I know is, is that what I saw on that video was certainly inappropriate and deserves to be investigated.

STEPHANOPOULOS: So you're not committing to -- to cut off the federal funding?

OBAMA: George, this is not the biggest issue facing the country. It's not something I'm paying a lot of attention to.

What a lame comment!

"I didn't even know that ACORN was getting a whole lot of federal money."

Would the mainstream media have accepted cluelessness as an excuse when President Bush was in office?

And just because it's not the biggest issue facing the country doesn't mean Obama shouldn't immediately cut off federal funds for ACORN.

OUR money, taxpayer dollars, are being abused. THAT is a big issue. Obama clearly doesn't want to offend ACORN. He needs the corrupt army to fight his battles.

This really is an embarrassing exchange.

Leno: ACORN Commercial

Jay Leno is still steering clear of making jokes about Obama, but on Wednesday's show he did take on ACORN.

Of course, the corrupt ACORN is connected with the Obama administration; but unless he Leno uses Obama's name I don't count it as an Obama joke.

Calling it "APORN," Leno set up a spoof commercial.

JAY LENO: Oh and of course there's that big scandal with APORN, I mean, ACORN. I'm sorry.

Do you know what they say? Have you heard about this? ACORN, they're an organization that gets government money to help poor people. Well, now they're in a lot of trouble. It seems these two filmmakers went to ACORN's office posing as a pimp and a prostitute, saying they wanted to buy a house and run it as a brothel, and ACORN workers gave them advice on how to get away with prostitution and how to avoid paying taxes.

See, here's my question: If they want to get away with prostitution and not paying taxes, go to Congress. These are the professionals. These are the people that know.... I mean, I had a hunch that this was coming. Did you see that commercial? Take a look.

The "commercial" doesn't pull any punches.
POLITICIAN: When I ran for office in Nevada, I found myself 50,000 votes behind in the polls. ACORN helped me get the "extra" votes I needed. Thank you, ACORN.

PROSTITUTE: I'm a professional. In my line of work, it doesn't come easy. Sometimes it takes like... 45 minutes? So, like my customers, I want to get the most bang for my buck. ACORN showed me how to save the most at tax time. Thank you, ACORN. I owe you one. Call me.

DRUG DEALER: As a narcotics entrepreneur, I bring in a lot of money, mostly cash. I thought I owed $200,000 in taxes. ACORN said I owed nothing. Thank you, ACORN.

(Cell phone rings.)

Oh, I gotta take this call. It's Amy Winehouse.

ANNOUNCER: ACORN. We'll help you get away with stuff.

I wonder if Charlie Gibson got the joke. He's not really up on major news stories.

The audience responded to the jokes, laughing and applauding. People certainly knew about the scandal.

It's weird that the ACORN scandal would get as much or more coverage on Leno's show than it does by the lib media outlets.

ACORN Scandal: San Diego

More. Yes, there's more.

A worker at a fifth ACORN office, this one in San Diego, offers assistance to a "pimp" and a "prostitute" looking to set up a business.

From FOX News:

On the same day that the anti-poverty group ACORN announced the launch of an "internal review" after four undercover videos exposed its workers offering advice on how to skirt federal laws, a fifth video surfaced that purports to show a worker offering to help bring underage girls into the U.S. for the purposes of prostitution.

The latest video was filmed in San Diego by conservative activist James O'Keefe, 25, and partner Hannah Giles, 20, who posed as a pimp and prostitute as they did in their previous undercover stings.

In the latest video, O'Keefe asked the man if Tijuana is the best place to bring the girls to cross over into the U.S.

The man replied "yes," because he has a lot of contacts there who can assist in bringing them across the border.

In another part of the video, the man asked O'Keefe how much he charges for Giles' services.

"Are you a potential client?" O'Keefe asked.

"No, no. I want to know," the man said. "How...what is it?"

...ACORN announced it is ordering an independent investigation. ACORN will work with its advisory council, which includes prominent supporters of President Obama, such as John Podesta, president of the nonprofit Center for American Progress, and Andrew Stern, president of the Service Employees International Union, to name an indepedent auditor and investigator, ACORN chief executive Bertha Lewis said in a written statement.

The investigation will examine all the systems and processes called into question by the video, Lewis said.

In addition, ACORN won't accept new admissions into its community service programs, effective immediately, and within the next few days will conduct staff training, she said.

Lewis said the steps were being taken in response to "the indefensible action of a handful of our employees."

Yes, a handful of ACORN employees were caught on tape advising a supposed pimp and prostitute on illegal activities.

However, those "handfuls" constitute more than just a few rogue staffers. I think the coast to coast sample indicates a significant and extremely troubling degree of corruption within the organization.

There have been too many cases of ACORN employees performing their jobs in an indefensible manner.

Why is it that whenever ACORN's employees are caught engaging in illegal behavior it's blamed on the individuals and not the organization?

These videos seal it. Combine them with all the other problems exposed regarding ACORN and voter registration. It's time for the group to be held accountable.

ACORN doesn't deserve to be awarded millions and millions in tax dollars.

No more federal funds.

ACORN in California, (James O'Keefe Video)

Here we go again.

This makes four. FOUR!

Someone alert Charlie Gibson.

Employees at four ACORN offices from coast to coast have been exposed assisting lawbreakers and advising them on ways to skirt the law.

From FOX News:

Much like in their previous undercover stings at the group's offices in Baltimore, Washington and Brooklyn, N.Y., filmmaker James O'Keefe, 25, and his 20-year-old partner Hannah Giles, who posed as a prostitute named "Eden," were given assistance on Aug. 17 from a staffer at ACORN's office in San Bernardino on how to avoid detection by law enforcement. The couple even tell ACORN staffer Tresa Kaelke — who admits on the videotape to previously having sex for money — that they plan on bringing in 12 girls from El Salvador to work in a home they hope to acquire via the community organization.

"We're bringing these girls from overseas, but we are going to take a cut of the profit and intend to use the profit from the tricks the girls perform to fund my political campaign and the advertising," O'Keefe tells Kaelke, adding that it'll fund at least 50 percent of his planned run as a Democratic congressional candidate.

Kaelke, who told the couple that she once worked as a paid escort herself, at one point admits she was unqualified to counsel but stops well short of reporting O'Keefe and Giles to authorities.

"You know you are breaking the law if you have these girls in your care and they're minors," Kaelke said on the videotape provided, which was provided by O'Keefe and can be viewed on BigGovernment.com. " … If I didn't know better, and I don't, but I would think this is a total setup."

Kaelke then says, "As far as getting a place, I don't know why you don't go out and rent a place," adding that the couple could classify it as a "group home" to avert detection.

Earlier on the video, O'Keefe tells Kaelke that they've been discriminated against by banks and other institutions in their search to land a home.

"ACORN will tell you the same thing, they will," Kaelke said. "You might get an old-timer like myself who really knows what's up and who could care less."

Kaelke said her supervisor "would shoot this down faster than a bat out of hell" but advised the couple to conceal the prostitution business by calling it a massage parlor.

"What do you think about my idea about disguising it as a spa?" Giles asks.

"That's exactly what I would do," Kaelke said. "And they're all over the place — Thai massage, Swedish massage, I mean, there's just a bunch of them."

Kaelke also suggested the pair "invest in a line of vitamins" to disguise the location's true purpose.

The ACORN staffer even divulges her previous work as a "paid escort" in the Bahamas.

"We did trips to the Bahamas for big businessman on yachts," she said. "It was absolutely individual preference, you didn't have to [have sex] … I was the one who did the bookings. I had sex one time because I wanted to."

Oh, my God.

ACORN has received tens of millions of taxpayer dollars.

MY money is going to support this crap?

It's positively sickening.

...Sen. Mike Johanns, R-Neb., said that ACORN has received $53 million in taxpayer funds since 1994 and that the group was eligible for a wider set of funding in the pending legislation, which funds housing and transportation programs.

The U.S. Census Bureau severed ties with the group on Friday in the wake of the controversy.

ACORN — Association of Community Organizers for Reform Now — has been accused of widespread voter fraud during the 2008 presidential election by assisting unqualified voters to register.

This is inexcusable.

ACORN IS BEING SUPPORTED BY THE U.S. GOVERNMENT!

This scandal is huge, and the unfair and unbalanced Obama-loving media are virtually ignoring it.

Disgusting.

What is happening in this country?

ACORN in Brooklyn, (James O'Keefe Video)

We have employees at a third ACORN office advising James O'Keefe (the pimp) and Hannah Giles (the prostitute) on setting up their business.

Frequently, after the first and second videos were released, involving offices in
Baltimore and DC, the lib media have noted that staffers at other ACORN offices didn't get caught aiding the individuals supposedly setting up a prostitution operation.

Example, from CNN:

The conservative filmmakers unsuccessfully attempted similar ruses at the group’s offices in Philadelphia, Los Angeles and New York, [Scott Levenson, a spokesman at ACORN’s national offices,] said.

Levenson will need to amend his statement.

An ACORN office in New York has been exposed in an O'Keefe - Giles sting.

I can see some rogue staffers at one ACORN office being dirty and offering advice to the "pimp" and the "prostitute" about their brothel.

But when the same sort of thing happens in three offices, there's a systemic problem.

Of course, the employees on this latest video will probably be fired, ACORN being the upstanding organization that it is.

What a joke!

No tax dollars should be doled out to ACORN. Zero.

Here's the New York video:

ACORN NYC Child Prostitution Investigation Part I

ACORN NYC Child Prostitution Investigation Part II

From FOX News:
Days after the release of hidden-camera videos led to the firing of four ACORN workers in Baltimore and Washington who assisted an independent filmmaker posing as a pimp to apply for an illegal housing loan for a brothel, a third video has surfaced showing ACORN workers offering the same kind of assistance at the organization's office in Brooklyn, N.Y.

As in their previous undercover stings, filmmaker James O'Keefe, 25, and partner Hannah Giles, 20, who posed as a prostitute, received advice from ACORN workers on how to launder their earnings and avoid detection from law enforcement officials while running a prostitution business.

"You have to find another name for it," an ACORN employee tells the pair seeking a mortgage in the Brooklyn office. "Honesty is not going to get you the house. You can't say what you do for a living."

In the video posted on BigGovernment.com, which was shot on Aug. 4, O'Keefe tells two ACORN workers that Giles — scantily dressed as a prostitute named "Eden" with partially-exposed undergarments — earns up to $10,000 a month "performing tricks" and tries to obtain housing in the purportedly 18-year-old woman's name.

"This is going to be her business, it's all cash," O'Keefe says. "She's gonna have this business in the house with a bunch of girls coming and doing these things, you know, performing tricks and she's gonna give me the money so I can pay the mortgage. That's how we want to work it potentially. But no one has to know where the money is coming from."

"No," an ACORN employee responds as another shakes her head in approval.

The ACORN employees suggest that the purpose of "Eden's" business remain a secret as they seek to obtain financing.

"You know, what goes on in the house, we don't care," an ACORN worker says on the video. "We just help you with the mortgage."

Later on the video, an ACORN worker tells Giles that she needs to say she is a "freelancer" to establish a legitimate line of credit, and she advises the woman to open multiple bank accounts in which she should deposit no more than $500 a week to avoid raising suspicion.

"Don't say that you're a prostitute thing or whatever," the woman says on the tape, later suggesting that Giles hide her money in a tin buried beneath the home. " … And you don't tell a single soul but yourself where it is."

Another ACORN worker reminds the pair that prostitution is illegal, but stops well short of showing the duo the door.

"Don't get caught," the ACORN staffer says on the tape. "It's against the law what you're doing and there's a chance you'll get caught."

Patricia Coats Jessamy

Patricia Coats Jessamy, the State's Attorney for Baltimore City, Maryland, is concerned about what has come to light at an ACORN office in Baltimore.

Background:

Officials with the controversial community organizing group ACORN were secretly videotaped offering to assist two individuals posing as a pimp and a prostitute, encouraging them to lie to the Internal Revenue Service and providing guidance on how to claim underage girls from South America as dependents.

...In the videotape, made on July 24, James O'Keefe, a 25-year-old independent filmmaker, posed as a pimp with a 20-year-old woman named "Kenya" who posed as a prostitute while visiting ACORN's office in Baltimore. The couple told ACORN staffers they wanted to secure housing where the woman could continue to maintain a prostitution business.

...On the videotape, "Kenya" can be seen telling an ACORN staffer that she earns roughly $8,000 a month. The ACORN employee then suggests to "Kenya" that ACORN could submit a tax return for 2008 showing that she made $9,600 for the entire year — instead of $96,000 — and that ACORN would charge "Kenya" $50 instead of the usual $150 fee for preparing her taxes.

...The ACORN staffer can also be seen suggesting that the prostitute list her occupation as a freelance "performing artist."

"It's not dancing, trust me," the "pimp" says.

"But dancing is considered an art," the ACORN staffer replies. "[Exotic dancers] usually go under performing artists, or yeah, they usually go under performing arts, which will be what you are — a performing artist."

The "pimp" later says that he and "Kenya" plan to bring up to 13 "very young" girls from El Salvador to work as prostitutes. Although an ACORN staffer points out their plans are illegal, she also suggests that the girls can be claimed as dependents.

"What if they are going to be making money because they are performing tricks too?" the pimp says.

"If they making money and they are underage, then you shouldn't be letting anybody know anyway," the ACORN staffer says, and laughs. "It's illegal. So I am not hearing this, I am not hearing this. You talk too much. Don't give up no information you're not asked."

This is shocking. Of course, Jessamy would want to pursue the matter. I would hope she would be eager to hold the individuals accountable and put an end to this sort of thing.

She is considereing prosecution but there's a problem. Jessamy's concern isn't with the ACORN staffer giving advice on how to break the law.

She has a problem with James O'Keefe, the "pimp" and filmmaker, and Hannah Giles, the "prostitute," as well as those using the video they obtained.

From the Washington Examiner:

ACORN, the group that launched Obama’s career as a community organizer (an ACORN affiliate received received $800,000 from Obama’s campaign), was recently caught in undercover stings advising about how to set up a brothel that would bring “minor girls into the country for purposes of prostitution,” reports the Washington Post. (ACORN receives taxpayer money despite a long history of financial fraud and vote fraud).

Now, Patricia Coats Jessamy, the Baltimore City State’s Attorney, is trying to silence those who have broadcast the video footage, relying on a Maryland law that violates the First Amendment. She is not interested in prosecuting the crimes recorded on the video, such as promoting “sex slavery.” Instead, this partisan, ardent Obama supporter wants to prosecute those who took the undercover video — and those citizens, bloggers, and journalists who broadcast it or “use” or “disclose the content” of it!

In her public statement turning a blind eye to ACORN’s crimes, she complains that the video may “possibly have been obtained in violation of Maryland Law . . . Article §10-402, which requires two party consent. If it is determined that the audio portion now being heard on YouTube was illegally obtained, it is also illegal under Maryland Law to willfully use or willfully disclose the content of said audio. The penalty for the unlawful interception, disclosure or use of it is a felony punishable up to 5 years.”

This is a disgrace.

Instead of being threatened with prosecution by Jessamy, she should be praising O'Keefe and Giles as whistleblowers, a courageous young man and woman who dared to expose the truth about ACORN.

Why are whistleblowers on the Left of the spectrum considered heroes but those on the Right are treated like dirt, ignored or condemned and threatened?

Will there be a 60 Minutes segment praising O'Keefe and Giles?

No way.

It's a disgusting double standard.

Ed Morrissey, Hot Air, examines Jessamy's partisanship and reveals that her threat to prosecute is very selective.

He concludes, "Jessamy is less interested in enforcing the law and helping children than she is in abusing her power to attack critics who threaten Obama’s power and policies."

James O'Keefe: Second ACORN 'Pimp-Prostitute' Video

James O'Keefe has done the nation a great service. He's done what the big, mainstream news outlets never bothered to do. O'Keefe has exposed some very disturbing facts about ACORN.

It's time for Obama, the Obama administration and the Democrats to cut their ties with ACORN -- the corrupt, law-breaking band of community organizers.

From FOX News:

One day after two ACORN officials in Baltimore were fired for offering to help a man and woman posing as a pimp and prostitute to engage in child prostitution and a series of tax crimes, another secretly shot videotape has surfaced that shows the same couple getting similar advice from ACORN officers in Washington.

The newly released videotape, shot on July 25, shows ACORN staffers explaining to the pair how they can hide the woman's professed work — prostitution — and get a loan that will help them establish a brothel.

James O'Keefe, a 25-year-old independent filmmaker, posed as the pimp while visiting the ACORN office, accompanied by 20-year-old Hannah Giles, who posed as the prostitute. On a videotape provided to FOXNews.com, they are seen receiving guidance to establish the woman as the sole proprietor of a bogus company to mask the nature of her business.

"She's not going to put on (the loan application) that she's doing prostitution ... she doesn't have to," the ACORN staffer says. "You don't have to sit back and tell people what you do."

James O'Keefe Exposes ACORN

UDPATE, September 11, 2009: Another ACORN 'Pimp-Prostitute' Video
_________________

The Obama White House closely associates with ACORN (Association of Community Organizations for Reform Now). It utilizes ACORN.

No question about it, ACORN is on Obama's team.

As recently as August 11, 2009, ACORN representatives took part in a White House-sponsored teleconference call detailing plans for retooling the observation of September 11, "to turn a 'day of fear' that helps Republicans into a day of activism called the National Day of Service that helps the left."

The White House also called on ACORN's services to "assist" at health care town hall meetings held throughout August, "Organizing for America."

FOX News has a shocking story that should be of interest to every American.

Video.

FOX News reports:

Officials with the controversial community organizing group ACORN were secretly videotaped offering to assist two individuals posing as a pimp and a prostitute, encouraging them to lie to the Internal Revenue Service and providing guidance on how to claim underage girls from South America as dependents.

The videotape was made public Thursday on BigGovernment.com, a political blog launched by Andrew Breitbart as a companion site to his BigHollywood.breitbart.com blog.

In the videotape, made on July 24, James O'Keefe, a 25-year-old independent filmmaker, posed as a pimp with a 20-year-old woman named "Kenya" who posed as a prostitute while visiting ACORN's office in Baltimore. The couple told ACORN staffers they wanted to secure housing where the woman could continue to maintain a prostitution business.

ACORN — the Association of Community Organizations for Reform Now — bills itself as the nation's largest community of low- and moderate-income families "working together for social justice and stronger communities," according to its Web site. The organization has been accused by Republicans and conservative activists with fraud in voter registration drives around the country and has been under fire since last year for its support of President Obama and for its planned participation in next year's census.

A spokesman for ACORN, Scott Levenson, when asked to comment on the videotape, said: "The portrayal is false and defamatory and an attempt at gotcha journalism. This film crew tried to pull this sham at other offices and failed. ACORN wants to see the full video before commenting further."

On the videotape, "Kenya" can be seen telling an ACORN staffer that she earns roughly $8,000 a month. The ACORN employee then suggests to "Kenya" that ACORN could submit a tax return for 2008 showing that she made $9,600 for the entire year — instead of $96,000 — and that ACORN would charge "Kenya" $50 instead of the usual $150 fee for preparing her taxes.

ACORN offers tax preparation and benefits application services free of charge during tax season; it charges nominal fees during non-tax season.

The ACORN staffer can also be seen suggesting that the prostitute list her occupation as a freelance "performing artist."

The "pimp" then asks ACORN staffers to "promise" not to discriminate against his sex worker because of "who she is and what she does," according to the audiotape.

"If we don't have the information, then how are we going to discriminate?" the ACORN staffer replies. "You see what I am saying?"

Yes, I see what you're saying.

What is the Obama White House saying?

Will it cut its ties with ACORN?
