Wisconsin Recount: Ozaukee County Complete - Trump Up 3

From Ozaukee County Board Supervisor Gus Wirth:

Ozaukee County completed its election recount of the November 8, 2016 General Election for the President of the United States on December 5, 2016 at 6:15p.m.

Of the 55,207 ballots cast, the following reflects the changes in votes for ballot candidates and registered write-in candidates found at the recount:

Donald J. Trump/Michael R. Pence increase of 5 votes*

Hillary Clinton/Tim Kaine increase of 2 votes

Gary Johnson/Bill Weld increase of 1 vote

Evan McMullin/Nathan Johnson increase of 16 votes

Michael A. Maturen/Juan Munoz increase of 1 vote

All other candidates and registered write-in candidates showed no change.

*In addition, there was an increase of 29 votes in the Village of Newburg, Ward 3 due to a discrepancy in the original canvass results for Trump/Pence numbers.

I would like to express my sincere gratitude to the Board of Canvas members, municipal clerks and election inspectors who assisted with the recount. Your professionalism and dedication certainly contributed to a successful and efficient recount.
Jill Stein didn't pick up any votes.

The final results: Of 55,207 ballots cast, Trump gained 3 votes over Hillary Clinton.

*In addition, there was an increase of 29 votes in the Village of Newburg, Ward 3 due to a discrepancy in the original canvass results for Trump/Pence numbers.
What a waste of time and money!

If anything, this recount is showing how accurate the election results actually are.

Wisconsin Recount - Day 5

Here's the Day 5 update for Wisconsin's 2016 presidential recount:

Numbers for the City of Milwaukee do not include absentee ballots, which have not yet been recounted. Milwaukee counts its absentee ballots centrally (not at the polling place) on Election Night. When those absentee ballots have been counted the numbers will be updated.

Sheboygan County has submitted preliminary recount results. We are awaiting further verification before including these numbers with our update.

These are the explanations provide by clerks for differences in numbers between canvass and the recount:

Milwaukee County:
We are currently awaiting clarification regarding the recount totals for Town of Hales Corners Wards 7-9

Outagamie County:
Addition of 1 vote to Day 5’s City of Appleton Ward 41 totals. A Ward 41 ballot was found with ballots for Ward 38 during the recount.

Ozaukee County: Increase of 29 votes in Village of Newburg Ward 3 due to a typo in original canvas results for Trump/Pence numbers.

Waukesha County: An additiona of 1 vote to Day 5's Town of Delafield Wards 1,2,5,6 totals. Corrected to show i additional vote for Trump/Pence
The cost of a recount: $3.5 million

Wisconsin Recount: Hillary UP!

Good news for Hillary and her supporters!

From the Daily Caller:

The first day of Wisconsin’s presidential recount narrowed the gap between former Secretary of State Hillary Clinton and President-elect Donald Trump by precisely one vote.

...But the first results to emerge suggest the final tally will be rather close to the original one. Only Menominee County, home to the Menominee Indian Reservation, fully reported its recounted results on the first day. It found 17 extra votes for Stein and 12 for Libertarian Gary Johnson, while removing two votes from Trump and one from Clinton.

Here's the bad news for Hillary and her supporters:

...At her current pace, Clinton will overtake Trump in Wisconsin in approximately 74 and a half years. Unfortunately, the recount is expected to last just two weeks.
"Unfortunately"?

No, not unfortunately.

Fortunately.

Jimmy Fallon: Jill Stein Michigan Recount Joke

JIMMY FALLON: Yesterday, Jill Stein officially requested a hand recount of 4.8 million ballots in Michigan. But Donald Trump says he's going to fight it, by shouting out other numbers while they're trying to count. 'Seventy. Nineteen. Start back at one.'

Wisconsin: Stein Demands Recount By Hand

Lawyer up!

From Milwaukee Patch:

The Wisconsin Elections Commission has denied a request by Green Party presidential candidate Jill Stein to perform a recount of ballots by hand and she is prepared to go to court to challenge the decision, according to media reports. The recount will begin Thursday if payment for the process is received by Tuesday.

...President-elect Donald Trump narrowly won the state's 10 electoral votes — about 27,000 votes separate him and Democratic challenger Hillary Clinton — and Wisconsin Elections Commission chairman Mark Thomsen doesn't expect that to change with the recount.

Thomsen, a Democrat, said Monday he is confident the Nov. 8 vote will be upheld in the recount, but he was critical of Trump, who — despite having won the most electoral votes — claimed on Twitter Sunday that "massive fraud" had denied him the popular vote as well and that "millions of people" had voted illegally.

...The plan approved Monday would leave it to officials in each of Wisconsin’s 72 counties to decide whether to do their recounts by hand, the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel reported. That could mean some counties perform recounts by machine and some by hand. The deadline for county clerks to submit final count reports is 8 p.m. Monday, Dec. 12.

...Green Party officials have estimated the recount will cost more than $1 million — a bill they're prepared to pay. However, they want what they're paying for — a hand recount of all ballots. They said Sunday that they're willing to go to court if the clerks don't comply.

Recount advocates may have to do just that.
Jill Stein's behavior is pathetic.

The Leftists and Never Trump people went nuts when Trump wouldn't guarantee his acceptance of the election results when asked during the third and final presidential debate.

Hillary Clinton called Trump's answer "horrifying."

The "horrified" Leftists are the ones unwilling to accept the peaceful transition of power.

Pennsylvania Recount Next to Impossible

The more details that come out about this recount stuff the more lame the entire effort appears.

Jill Stein is a joke.

Wisconsin Presidential Recount: Missing the Deadline

Last time Wisconsin had a statewide recount, a place on the Wisconsin Supreme Court was at stake. Democrat JoAnne Kloppenburg, a union puppet, challenged her loss to David Prosser.

The recount took more than a month. Kloppenburg had the votes of nuns thrown out. It was ugly, and a complete waste of time and money.

Even after the recount was completed, Kloppenburg was slow to accept it.

The Wisconsin recount of the 2016 presidential race could be messier, given that twice as many votes will need to be recounted. Making matters worse, Stein is demanding that the recount be done by hand.

From Jim Hoft, Gateway Pundit:

Federal law says that presidential recounts must be completed within 35 days after an election. Stein waited until 90 minutes before the Wisconsin deadline for filing a recount petition expired.

All the votes have to be certified by December 13 according to a report on Friday. The electors meet on December 19.

Wisconsin will almost certainly miss that deadline, since the last recount took more than a month. And that recount was for a state Supreme Court contest where only 1.5 million votes were cast.

If Wisconsin misses the December 19 deadline, the electoral votes may not be counted.
What happens if the recount isn't completed by the deadline?

Does that mean Wisconsinites will be effectively disenfranchised in the 2016 presidential election?

Hoft points out that if "Wisconsin’s electoral votes are excluded on December 19, the state will then have to try and get Congress to include the votes in the January 6 count."

I can't believe that Congress would fail to "count every vote" and simply just toss out the Wisconsin election results.

All of this is crap. I'm certain Jill Stein intentionally waited until the final hour to file for a recount in Wisconsin to make it as difficult as possible to meet the deadline. There's no other realistic explanation.

Such sleazy tactics don't win over hearts and minds.

If the Leftists are hoping to annul the electoral votes of Wisconsin, Michigan, and Pennsylvania, they are truly deranged.

It angers me that Leftists are attempting to overturn the results of the election.

Millions of Americans will not be disenfranchised just because Jill Stein and Hillary Clinton waited to challenge the results of the election. That plot won't work.

I won't stand for my vote to be disregarded.

I don't believe it will happen, but the fact that the anti-Trump contingent wants it to happen makes me sick.

White House: Hackers Did NOT Sway Election

From Politico:

The Obama administration said it has seen no evidence of hackers tampering with the 2016 presidential election, even as recount proceedings began in Wisconsin.

“We stand behind our election results, which accurately reflect the will of the American people,” a senior administration official told POLITICO late Friday.

“The federal government did not observe any increased level of malicious cyber activity aimed at disrupting our electoral process on election day,” the official added. “We believe our elections were free and fair from a cybersecurity perspective.”
Obama is making Jill Stein look like a fool and a tool of the Democrat party.

I really don't think Obama likes Hillary very much. I know he considers her "likable enough," but not enough to go with the "hackers swayed the election" narrative.

Jill Stein: Recount Wisconsin

Apparently, a recount will happen in Wisconsin.

From Reuters:

Wisconsin's election board agreed on Friday to conduct a statewide recount of votes cast in the presidential race, as requested by a Green Party candidate seeking similar reviews in two other states where Donald Trump scored narrow wins.

The recount process, including an examination by hand of the nearly 3 million ballots tabulated in Wisconsin, is expected to begin late next week after Green Party candidate Jill Stein's campaign has paid the required fee, the Elections Commission said.

The state faces a Dec. 13 federal deadline to complete the recount, which may require canvassers in Wisconsin's 72 counties to work evenings and weekends to finish the job in time, according to the commission.

...Her effort may have given a ray of hope to dispirited Clinton supporters, but the chance of overturning the overall result of the Nov. 8 election is considered very slim, even if all three states go along with the recount.

The Green Party candidate, who garnered little more than 1 percent of the nationwide popular vote herself, said on Friday that she was seeking to verify the integrity of the U.S. voting system, not to undo Trump's victory.

While there was no evidence of tampering or voting errors in the election, only a thorough review of results from the three states at issue will reassure Americans, Stein said.

...Although Trump won narrowly in Wisconsin, Michigan and Pennsylvania, the margins make it highly unlikely any recounts would end up giving Clinton a win in all three states, which would be needed for the overall election result to change. Trump beat Clinton in Pennsylvania by 70,010 votes, in Michigan by 10,704 votes and in Wisconsin by 27,257 votes.

Stein's timing really bothers me.

From the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel:
Wisconsin's last statewide recount was in 2011 for a state Supreme Court seat and the outcome did not change. The recount showed Justice David Prosser defeated challenger JoAnne Kloppenburg by 7,004 votes — a slightly tighter margin than the 7,316-vote victory he had in initial returns.

That recount took more than a month. This one would have to happen more quickly because of a federal law that says states must complete presidential recounts within 35 days of the election to ensure their electoral votes are counted. This year, that's Dec. 13.

"You may potentially have the state electoral votes at stake if it doesn't get done by then," said Haas.

A lawyer with Stein's campaign has said it wants the recount done by hand. That would take longer and require a judge's order, Haas said.

Perhaps the most important deadline is Dec. 19, when electors around the country must meet to cast their Electoral College votes, said Edward Foley, an expert in election law at Moritz College of Law at Ohio State University.

"That is a hard deadline and if a state were to miss that deadline, it would be technically in jeopardy of not having its electoral votes counted," he said.

If the recount isn't complete by then, electors from Wisconsin could meet anyway and try to have their results sent to Congress by the time it counts the votes on Jan. 6, Foley said. Congress has wide latitude to decide how to count the states' electoral votes.

Political scientist Barry Burden, the director of the Elections Research Center at the University of Wisconsin-Madison, said it would be extremely difficult to complete the recount on time. About twice as many votes were cast in the presidential election as the 2011 Supreme Court race.

In recounts, typically both candidates gain votes, in part because absentee ballots that weren't counted initially get tallied, he said. Some absentee ballots don't get counted on election day because they were damaged or had extra marks on them.

Closing Clinton's gap of 22,000 votes is unlikely, Burden said.

She would have to win recounts in all three states to win the presidency — an even more remote possibility.
Why wait until the last hour to file for a recount?

Very sleazy.
