Obama: Libya 'Shit Show'

When Obama was president, he used the term "shit show" to describe Libya.

The father and younger brother of the Manchester Arena bomber have been arrested in Libya.

The Telegraph understands Hashem Abedi, 20, the brother of suspected attacker Salman Abedi, was arrested last night in the capital Tripoli by counterterrorism forces on suspicion of links to the Islamic State group.

Three armed vehicles arrived to take away their father, Ramadan Abedi, an administrative manager of the Central Security Force in Tripoli, late Wednesday afternoon.

A third brother, Ismail, has also been arrested after police raids in the UK. The family are believed to live between Manchester, where the children were born and grew up, and Libya.

Terrorism is the Abedi family's legacy.

The suicide bomber who killed 22 people and injured dozens more at the Manchester Arena has been named as 22-year-old Salman Abedi.

Born in Manchester in 1994, the second youngest of four children his parents were Libyan refugees who came to the UK to escape the Gaddafi regime.

His parents were both born in Libya but appear to have emigrated to London before moving to the Fallowfield area of south Manchester where they have lived for at least ten years.

...Abedi was named by Greater Manchester Chief Constable Ian Hopkins on Tuesday.

..."As you would expect the police response to this across Greater Manchester has been significant as we support people to go about their daily business.

"Part of this response has seen us arrest a 23-year-old man in connection with the attack and we have also carried out two warrants, one in Whalley Range and one in Fallowfield that included a controlled explosion to enable safe entry.

"We understand that feelings are very raw right now and people are bound to be looking for answers. However, now, more than ever, it is vital that our diverse communities in Greater Manchester stand together and do not tolerate hate.

"We have been visited by the Prime Minster and Home Secretary and we have taken them through the emergency response so far and what we plan to do in future days.

"I can confirm that the man suspected of carrying out last night's atrocity has been named as 22-year-old Salman Abedi. However, he has not yet been formally identified and I wouldn't wish, therefore, to comment further.

"The priority remains to establish whether he was acting alone or as part of a network."

After these terrorist attacks, this talk is common:

"[I]t is vital that our diverse communities in Greater Manchester stand together and do not tolerate hate."

Yes, members of diverse communities need to get along. Tolerance is critical in a free society, but not tolerance of hate.

The problem is radical Islamic terrorists are not tolerant. They hate. They kill. To an extent, we tolerate that.

Hashtags and candlelight vigils aren't solutions to the problem.

Expressing condolences and offering prayers are legitimate reactions. I believe that prayer is very powerful. I'm not diminishing its importance. However, action needs to be taken to deal with the terrorists.

Abedi killed innocent children, little girls.

Authorities knew him to be a risk.

This carnage won't stop until we enact policies to rid our communities of the terrorists. Can't we being with the known radicals?

Apparently, Hillary believes WHY four Americans were killed is irrelevant.

Hillary sounds like a fool. She looks like a fool.

Misleading the American people MATTERS, and that's what she and Susan Rice and Jay Carney and the Obama administration and Obama himself did. Lying matters. It matters to me.

We know Hillary gets angry when someone has told her lies. We know she throws lamps when she's mad.

The fact is, with all due respect, she's blind or stupid or deceptive in managing her personal life and in carrying out her duties in public service.

Obviously, Hillary doesn't have the demeanor or the skill or the character to be president of the United States. She's not up to the task of taking that 3:00 AM phone call and responding appropriately.

Crying, yelling, pounding the table, and flailing her arms don't accomplish anything.

I think Republicans have material for their first ad for the 2016 presidential election.

As we remember the thousands of innocents killed by Muslim extremists on September 11, 2001, let us also remember the four Americans killed in the September 11, 2012, attack on the U.S. Consulate in Benghazi, Libya.

Let's remember what Susan Rice, speaking on behalf of Obama, said following the attack.

U.S. Ambassador to the United Nations Susan Rice said the attack on the American consulate in Benghazi was not premeditated, directly contradicting top Libyan officials who say the attack was planned in advance.

“Our current best assessment, based on the information that we have at present, is that, in fact, what this began as, it was a spontaneous – not a premeditated – response to what had transpired in Cairo,” Rice said Sunday morning on “This Week.”

“In Cairo, as you know, a few hours earlier, there was a violent protest that was undertaken in reaction to this very offensive video that was disseminated,” Rice said, referring to protests in Egypt Tuesday over a film that depicts the Prophet Muhammad as a fraud. Protesters in Cairo breached the walls of the U.S. American Embassy, tearing apart an American flag.

“We believe that folks in Benghazi, a small number of people came to the embassy to – or to the consulate, rather, to replicate the sort of challenge that was posed in Cairo,” Rice said. “And then as that unfolded, it seems to have been hijacked, let us say, by some individual clusters of extremists who came with heavier weapons… And it then evolved from there.”

Ambassador Christopher Stevens, along with three other Americans, were killed in Libya following the assault on the American consulate in Benghazi, on the 11th anniversary of the Sept. 11 attacks. Rice said the FBI is examining the attack, saying their investigation “will tell us with certainty what transpired.”

Rice’s account directly contradicts that of Libyan President Mohamed Yousef El-Magariaf, who said this weekend that he had “no doubt” the attack was pre-planned by individuals from outside Libya.

“It was planned, definitely, it was planned by foreigners, by people who entered the country a few months ago, and they were planning this criminal act since their arrival,” he told CBS News.

Rice said there were no Marines present to protect the consulate in Libya, saying the U.S. presence there is “relatively new” since the revolution that overthrew former dictator Moammar Gadhafi.

“There are not Marines in every facility. That depends on the circumstances. That depends on the requirements,” Rice said. “Our presence in Tripoli, as in Benghazi, is relatively new, as you will recall. We’ve been back post-revolution only for a matter of months.”

Let's recall Hillary Clinton's performance, and her unforgettable words, "What difference at this point does it make?" And finally, let's revisit the disgraceful, cowardly Obama referring to the 9/11/12 Benghazi terrorist attack as a "bump in the road." Obama lied to us, repeatedly. The fact is the Obama administration has never been forthcoming about the Benghazi attack. There are still unanswered questions. Justice has not been done, as Obama promised. He has the audacity to call it a "phony scandal." Obama selfishly looked at Benghazi as a political problem for his political future during what appeared to be a very tight, and potentially losing, election. He dodged the truth so he wouldn't be hurt politically, an utterly despicable act. Americans were killed in an orchestrated terrorist attack and Obama ran with a concocted story about a spontaneous uprising over a video being the cause of the carnage. It all sickens me. Of course, I respect the office of the President of the United States, but I don't respect Obama. I can't respect such corruption.

Obama, O'Reilly: Super Bowl Interview (Video)

I really don't like the practice of inserting an interview with the president in the Super Bowl pregame show.

It's so out of place.

I didn't want to hear Obama's lies.

Late afternoon on Super Bowl Sunday is not the time to be talking with Obama about ObamaCare or Benghazi or the IRS scandal or his declaration that he intends to "fundamentally transform America."

That said, I was glad Obama was squirming on national TV.

Oh, God. It was painful to watch the first time and even worse watching again.

Obama's "I'm a victim of FOX News propaganda" was pathetic. He was really struggling.

I think O'Reilly did a relatively good job, especially considering the time constraints. He tried to cover a lot in a very brief period. O'Reilly did challenge Obama when he lied. It wasn't a softball interview. Yes, O'Reilly could have pressed Obama more than he did, and there were questions he didn't ask; but there just wasn't time.

All the unanswered questions revealed how much Obama still needs to explain. More than anything, the interview exposed that Obama has not been held accountable. He hasn't had to answer for his screw-ups and scandals and lies.

I don't think O'Reilly should be criticized, even for his "your heart is in the right place" remark. Criticism should be reserved for the "news" outlets that have spent YEARS aiding and abetting Obama.
