Allow me to summarize Matt Damon's prediction of America's future if John McCain and Sarah Palin are elected:
McCain is going to die very soon. Palin, clueless "hockey mom" from Alaska, will become president, a mom as leader of the free world. It will be a living nightmare. The reality in store for the country is like a bad Disney movie.
Transcript from NewsBusters:
I think there is a really good chance that Sarah Palin could president. And I think that's a really scary thing because I don't know anything about her. I don't think in eight weeks I'm going to know anything about her. I know that she was a mayor of a really, really small town. And she's governor of Alaska for less than two years. I just don't understand... I think the pick was made for political purposes but in terms of governance it's a disaster.
You do the actuary tables and there's a one out of three chance, if not more, that McCain doesn't survive his first term and it will be President Palin. And it really...we were talking about it earlier...it's like a really bad Disney movie. The hockey mom. "I'm just a hockey mom from Alaska." And she's the president. And it's like she's facing down Vladimir Putin and using the folksy stuff she learned at the hockey rink. It's absurd. It's totally absurd. And I don't understand why more people aren't talking about how absurd it is. It's a really terrifying possibility. The fact that we've gotten this far and we're that close to this being a reality is crazy, crazy.
I need to know if she really thinks dinosaurs were here 4000 years ago, that's an important...I want to know that. I really do. Because she's going to have the nuclear codes. I want to know if she thinks dinosaurs were here 4000 years ago. Or if she banned books or tried to ban books. We can't have that.
Damon displays the arrogance and condescension of so many of Barack Obama's Hollywood supporters. This is how the Hollywood elite think.
More slamming of conservative women, faith, and small town, hard-working Americans...
Talk about being out of touch!

He raises some good points, you dipshit. You should be pissed off at McCain for not taking the election seriously enough to pick someone with some goddamn experience instead of choosing a gimmick to snatch up the disillusioned Hillary supporters.
Are you really as dense as this makes you appear? How on Earth is having someone like Sarah Palin, two-year mayor and self proclaimed "hockey mom" in the white house not a concerning situation for you?
I think Damon's comments are ill-informed and condescending and particularly demeaning to women.
Like so many others in this country, I find this sort of smearing of Sarah Palin to be despicable.
True, she's a hockey mom, but she also happens to be the sitting governor of one of the 50 states.
Democrat Harry Truman was folksy. He didn't have a college degree.
Notice both of the "anonymous" posters above share Damon's smear tactics.
I'm called a "dipshit" and "dense."
Not cool.
The angrier they get the better I feel about this pick.
Haha... I love how Republicans whine "sexism" about any negative opinions on Sarah Palin. Matt Damon's actually right - she's in way over her head. She would be in over her head if she was a woman, a man, or a hermaphrodite. It's not about gender, it's about intelligence and worldview.
The stupid MILF is the one who is out of touch. Abstinence only worked well in her house.
What's really funny (or sad, depending on your view) is that every criticism Damon laid at Sarah Palin's feet can just as easily be made for Obama.
Damon is fearful that Palin could potentially become president because of her supposed lack of experience and because he knows nothing about her.
I would be interested to hear what Damon actually knows about Obama. I wonder if Damon could define the role of a "community organizer", I wonder if he could explain how being a city council member and a half-term U.S. Senator qualifies Obama for being President and leader of the free world.
How can Damon support Obama when his objectives as a "community organizer" proved to be utter failures, and as a Senator (a legislator, not an executive) Obama never penned a single law!
No matter what Damon says or thinks, being a Governor is the BEST method to prepare for the Presidency. If you don't understand why that is (and I'm sure Damon doesn't) then you really have no business voting.
I'll take Palin's prior EXECUTIVE experience to Obama's "present votes" anyday.
Thanks for your wonderful insights Matt Damon, but your best role was in Team America: World Police... that was you wasn't it?
LOL
And to the anaonymous posters complaining about Palin's experience, how do you justify your support of Obama?
Palin's experience stacks up to Obama's EXTREMELY well.
How many of these people bashing Palin based on experience can deviate from the DNC talking points and formulate an original thought?
How many of these people even understand the duties of a city councilman or a U.S. Senator?
Logic eludes so many....
I hope America doesn't veer further down the road towards religious fundementalism as seems to be creeping, that never works out as we can see from all the bankrupt economies around the world that show no tolerance.
If you have to have a super power America isn't a bad one, I hope it doesn't allow people with medieval views to take over (or take over further) as America wont be in charge for very long after and I don't fancy the global economy being put into the hands of any of the pretenders to that throne.
I mean, some goat herder in the back and beyond of central asia can be forgiven for thinking the world was created by a whopping magician in a week but for people who have had in world terms a fortune spent on a public education it really is shocking.
That's not to say there isn't a God, but this literalism of 3000 year old text is just a joke and speaks volumes of the person underneath.
A RESPONSE TO ACTOR MATT DAMON ...
MATT ...
Everyone knows that you and Ben Afflick have been in the tank for Obama, way before Palin even entered the campaign.
You're just an actor. Your lines are written for you, just like a speech writer creates the lines for Obama.
A director tells you what to do each moment . Make-up people and costurme designers work on your
appearance. Other than that, you're just like anybody else, except you seem to think that since you're
a manufactured celebrity, your opinion to mean more, but it doesn't.
QUESTION:
IS PALIN QUALIFIED COMPARED TO OBAMA ?
ANSWER:
http://townhall.com/blog/g/cba8713c-ef73-4ebc-aa5e-bc53e6596e2a&comments=true
Once again ... if you compare McCain/Palin's track record with Obama/Biden's, it's no contest. McCain/Palin are a hundred times more qualified to lead this country. McCain/Palin show scores of actual achievements and solid service to America, while once again, Obama's track record is one of excessive absences from his responsibilities, and all talk with no actual experience, or contributions to America.
Like Governor Palin has pointed out ... Obama had the time to write two memoirs, but never wrote one piece of significant legislation ... not even when he was in the state legislature. Regarding earmarks, and the economy ... If Obama gets elected, his irresponsible and clueless ideas for shifting shifting America's wealth would turn the U.S.A. into a third world country, with businesses laying off employees to keep their doors open. Obama's ideas for national security would de-fang America and make us weak, putting us at the mercy of the world's tyrants.
The comment from Matt J is indicative of the paranoia that the Left has for people of faith.
The Left is threatened by God.
That's sad.

Matt Daman,..whose job it is
to say what other people tell him to say
stand where other people tell him to stand
walk where people tell him to walk
dress as other people tell him to dress
etc. etc. etc.
and.......
because he's not very bright they give him multiple takes to get it right....
He admits he knows nothing about her. Obviously no one wrote him a script on this subject..
he is so brilliant he has to relate everything to the only thing he knows
"DISNEY MOVIES" he obviously doesn't even know what a governor of a state does.
Maybe someone will write him a script telling him what to think about a governor of a state
... or maybe someone already has.
Hey, while the comments so far have been a nice microcosm of right vs left battles, you're all avoiding the main substance of Damon's rant- if Sarah Palin indeed thinks that dinosaurs roamed the earth 4000 years ago, she shouldn't be president of the USA.
It's very simple: our brightest minds have known empirically that the last dinosaurs existed hundreds of millions of years ago. They know this because of carbon dating, radiological testing, and geographic dispersion.
The "left wing" as you tar them might not be so much scared of GOD as you accuse them, but instead, maybe scared of people who will not make the reasonable choice when faced with BLATANT FACTS. Perhaps they are only scared of people who use GOD, an ever-shifting and undefinable entity with as many definitions as religious sects, to "hide behind" rather than constructing arguments and policies that transcend religious differences.
Stop trying to attack the adversary and analyze the argument. Don't transform your political battles into polarized debates- find middle ground, try to see it your enemies' way and find a compromise. THAT IS DEMOCRACY.
Lets talk about the facts and Palin's record.
'Creation science' enters the race
"I don't think there should be a prohibition against debate if it comes up in class. It doesn't have to be part of the curriculum."
She added that, if elected, she would not push the state Board of Education to add such creation-based alternatives to the state's required curriculum.
As governor, Palin has not pushed her religious beliefs into Alaska's classrooms.
Damon doesn't acknowledge that. Instead, he attacks her faith and displays a lack of tolerance.
Palin has made it clear on a number of issues that she acknowledges, understands, and respects the views of others. She does not permit her religious beliefs to blind her.
I think your talk about "enemies" is a bit over the top.
Democracy, a free society, thrives on debate.
I'm not paranoiac or left wing, but I am cautious of fundamentalism and the mindset of anyone who follows that path as it's prescriptive nature makes someone narrow minded and unfit to govern.
That said, I'm not American, it is quite fair for Americans to state it isn't anyone else's business. Whether it is or isn't the results will affect me and seeing our closest ally become more and more dominated by this unforgiving religious literalism is what is really sad.
I think you're being unfair to Gov. Sarah Palin, possibly believing the smears that the Democrats and their media allies are spreading about her.
As governor, she's proved that she has NOT pursued any kind of extremist religion-based agenda.
Don't believe the smear campaign.
She has great respect for the Constitution, this country, and its laws.
You have nothing to fear.
On December 28th, 2006, Sarah Palin VETOED a very important Alaskan bill.
Had governor Palin not VETOED the bill, this bill would have PROHIBITED the
Extension of Employment-Related Benefits to Same-Sex Partners of Alaska State Employees.
That's right, this bill would have PROHIBITED the Extension of Employment-Related
Benefits to Same-Sex Partners of Alaska State Employees.
See the Facts:
http://www.votesmart.org/official_veto_detail.php?can_id=27200&bill_no=HB%204001&entry_id=
Her Veto should be hailed publicly a triumph for liberals, but you will never hear about this
"fair minded" veto decision by Ms. Palin in the mainstream media or those on the far left for
a few reasons:
1) Our mainstream media and those on the far left suffer from "the soft bigotry of lowered expectations".
2) They just plain "don't care" about being fair about the facts on Ms. Palins record as governor.
3) Ms. Palin, as a career woman, represents the single greatest threat to the party that would like
to have sole ownership of the term "femenism", or "woman's rights".
Damon and others need to remember that Palin is a governor.
She is serving as the chief executive of a state. Has Obama ever wielded a veto pen?
