Sandra Fluke and Rush Limbaugh: WAR ON WOMEN

STOP! It's an insult to women, and men for that matter.

Yesterday, Rush Limbaugh discussed Sandra Fluke, Georgetown law student and crusader for "free" birth control.



Obama, the Democrats, and their Leftist media mouthpieces seized on Limbaugh's comments.

MSNBC's despicable Ed Schultz talked about "the war on women" and interviewed Fluke. Schultz is aghast that Limbaugh used the term "slut" in his discussion about Fluke's remarks regarding contraception and her needs.

Around 5:00 PM CT yesterday, the Democratic Senatorial Campaign Committee used Limbaugh's statements in a fundraising e-mail:

Dear Mary,

Once again, our grassroots donors stepped up when we needed them most, and we made our February FEC goal. We have the resources we need for another few weeks of taking the fight straight to the GOP’s doorstep.

And today Rush Limbaugh gave us a vile reminder of why this fight is so important. The GOP’s top megaphone viciously attacked law student and women’s health advocate Sandra Fluke on air.



First he called her a “slut” and a “prostitute.” Then added, “So Miss Fluke, and the rest of you Feminazis, here’s the deal. If we are going to pay for your contraceptives ... We want something for it. We want you to post the videos online so we can all watch.”

What did Sandra Fluke do to invoke this wrath? Simply suggested during a Democratic congressional hearing that insurance should cover contraception. Which it should.

This is misogyny, plain and simple. And it must be called out. Will you sign our petition and stand with us against these vile attacks?

The Democrats are treating women like children.

There is, however, a war being waged on the First Amendment and the Constitution and our freedom. Obama and the Democrats are attacking our liberties, the very heart of our national soul.

THERE IS A WAR ON CATHOLICS!

Fluke is attempting to force a Catholic institution to violate the teachings of the Catholic Church.

Fluke is attacking Catholics.

Now, Obama has personally called Fluke, the woman apparently incapable of taking care of herself and reproductive matters, to see if she's OK.

President Barack Obama on Friday phoned the Georgetown University law student who was called a “slut” by Rush Limbaugh to find out if she’s OK.

“He encouraged me and supported me and thanked me for speaking out about the concerns of American women,” Sandra Fluke, a third-year law student said. “And what was really personal for me was that he said to tell my parents that they should be proud. And that meant a lot because Rush Limbaugh questioned whether or not my family would be proud of me. So I just appreciated that very much.”

Fluke, who said she had received Obama’s call while waiting in the green room before her interview with Andrea Mitchell, also said of the phone call, “He did express his concern for me and wanted to make sure that I was ok, which, I am. I’m ok.”

The New York Times is running with the story, too. Big stuff. The New York Times did get a significant fact wrong. Fluke isn't an undergrad, a mere teenager. She's a law student, a 30-year-old woman.

This phone call takes the trumped up contraceptive issue to new heights.

It's going by the Saul Alinsky handbook. Personalize.

Fluke, 30 years old, is playing the role of the poor little poster girl, rather than behaving like a 30-year-old adult woman. Thirty! She's 30 and she can't or won't take care of herself.

Meanwhile, Limbaugh is demonized as misogynistic and targeted by the Left.

I expect the president of the United States to have better things to do than call Fluke. What political crap!

Speaking of WAR, Obama should call the parents and spouses of our military men and women to see if they're OK.

Instead of going on and on about this idiotic, fake WAR ON WOMEN contraception issue, Obama should explain why he wants to take health care benefits away from our active and retired military.

EXPLAIN THAT!

"Birth control pills costs a lot of money," says a co-ed. "You'll pull through," says a homeless dude.

Paying for birth control is an "untenable burden?" Um - a family losing a father is an untenable burden.

Rush Limbaugh's Statement

For over 20 years, I have illustrated the absurd with absurdity, three hours a day, five days a week. In this instance, I chose the wrong words in my analogy of the situation. I did not mean a personal attack on Ms. Fluke.

I think it is absolutely absurd that during these very serious political times, we are discussing personal sexual recreational activities before members of Congress. I personally do not agree that American citizens should pay for these social activities. What happened to personal responsibility and accountability? Where do we draw the line? If this is accepted as the norm, what will follow? Will we be debating if taxpayers should pay for new sneakers for all students that are interested in running to keep fit? In my monologue, I posited that it is not our business whatsoever to know what is going on in anyone's bedroom nor do I think it is a topic that should reach a Presidential level.

My choice of words was not the best, and in the attempt to be humorous, I created a national stir. I sincerely apologize to Ms. Fluke for the insulting word choices.

So Limbaugh apologizes for his insulting choice of words in referring to Fluke.

That's appropriate.

By issuing the statement on Saturday, Limbaugh defuses the topic as fodder for the Sunday news shows.

While he apologizes for the insult, he doesn't apologize for his stance on the larger matter.

It's kind of funny that Obama's phone call to Fluke drew the nation's attention to the story, giving Limbaugh the opportunity to capitalize on that attention.

His statement includes the reiteration of his position on the issue.

The Leftist media and Obama did Limbaugh a favor. They gave him an expanded forum to deliver his message.
