Duncan Lied on Ebola Screening Form

Thomas Eric Duncan, the Liberian who brought Ebola to the U.S., lied on an airport questionnaire in Liberia, meant to contain the disease.

The more information that comes out about this, the angrier I get.

Thomas E. Duncan, the Liberian man who developed Ebola symptoms in Dallas after flying from Liberia to the United States last month, lied about his history of contact with the disease on an airport questionnaire meant to screen out passengers who might be carrying the virus and is subject to prosecution when he returns, Binyah Kesselly, chairman of the Liberia Airport Authority, said Thursday.

When Mr. Duncan flew out of Roberts International Airport in Monrovia, the Liberian capital, on Sept. 19, he answered “no” to a question about whether he had had contact with any person who might have been stricken with Ebola in the past 21 days, the maximum period of incubation for Ebola, Mr. Kesselly said.

“He lied on his form,” Mr. Kesselly said. “If he had answered truthfully, he would have been sent to secondary screening immediately and not allowed to leave.”

Mr. Kesselly said Mr. Duncan would be prosecuted upon his return for lying on the questionnaire.

Duncan should be prosecuted for his lies.

At least Liberian authorities have the decency and the integrity to do it.

I can't say the same for the U.S. authorities. Obama is allowing the free flow of disease into the U.S. thanks to his intentional failure to secure our borders.

I do not trust the information about Ebola coming from the CDC and the Obama administration.

Everything is a cover-up with them. Everything is a pack of lies. There is no trust.

Why the hell hasn't Obama addressed the nation about the Ebola situation in America?

Is he personally calling the parents of Dallas school children possibly exposed to the Ebola virus, to check if they're OK?

After all, Obama took the time to make a personal call to Sandra Fluke.

A man fired from an Oklahoma food processing plant beheaded a woman with a knife and was attacking another worker when he was shot and wounded by a company official, police said Friday.

Moore Police Sgt. Jeremy Lewis said police are waiting until Alton Nolen, 30, is conscious to arrest him in Thursday's attack and have asked the FBI to help investigate after co-workers at Vaughan Foods in the south Oklahoma City suburb told authorities that he recently started trying to convert several employees to Islam.

Nolen severed the head of Colleen Hufford, 54, Lewis said.

...Lewis said Nolen then stabbed Traci Johnson, 43, a number of times before Mark Vaughan, a reserve sheriff's deputy and the company's chief operating officer, shot him.

"This was not going to stop if he didn't stop it. It could have gotten a lot worse," Lewis said. "The threat had already stopped once we arrived."

In their coverage of the Supreme Court ruling in the Hobby Lobby case, no mainstream/Leftist media outlet that I heard included the fact that Hobby Lobby provides coverage for 16 of 20 contraceptives for its employees.

Yes, Hobby Lobby is paying for contraceptive coverage for its employees.

Hobby Lobby DOES pay for contraceptives for its employees.

The Court ruled that the Green family does not have to PAY for abortifacients for its employees.

Good. That's a victory for religious liberty and the First Amendment.

It's ridiculous to suggest that the Court ruled that employers can impose their religious beliefs on their employees.

That's absolutely insane.

On his radio program yesterday, Mark Levin highlighted a crazy comment by Jeffrey Toobin, a lawyer and legal analyst for CNN.

JEFFREY TOOBIN: Ruth Bader Ginsburg's dissenting opinion is devoted to the proposition that [the ruling] is not narrow, that the idea that a privately held company can exercise religious beliefs in deciding which benefits and which customers to deal with is potentially a very broad idea.

Say what???

The Hobby Lobby ruling has absolutely nothing to do with "customers."

Toobin, as a lawyer, should know better than to twist this ruling like that.

Salena Zito of The Pittsburgh Tribune-Review said on “The Kelly File” that she has spoken with Gettysburg residents of all political affiliations who are “incredibly disappointed” over Obama’s decision to send Interior Secretary Sally Jewell to represent his administration instead of attending himself.

“They are just stunned by his decision not to attend the Gettysburg Address, it’s the 150th anniversary, it’s one of the most pivotal speeches in our nation’s history…” she said.

White House Press Secretary Jay Carney told reporters that Obama’s schedule for Tuesday has not changed, and he plans to meet with Defense Secretary Hagel and conduct other meetings.

But Obama just couldn't manage to squeeze in an appearance at GETTYSBURG.

However, Obama is finding plenty of time to mark the 50th anniversary of the assassination of President John F. Kennedy.

The president and first lady Michelle Obama will accompany former President Bill Clinton and former secretary of state Hillary Clinton at a wreath-laying ceremony at Kennedy's grave site in Arlington National Cemetery on Wednesday, the Associated Press first reported.

At the White House that day, Obama will bestow the Presidential Medal of Honor and celebrate the 50th anniversary of the executive order signed by Kennedy that established the medal -- the highest award the U.S. bestows on civilians.

...Obama also plans a speech on Kennedy's legacy of service with a dinner at the Smithsonian American History Museum with current and past recipients of the medal in attendance, including baseball's Hank Aaron, astronaut Buzz Aldrin, singer Aretha Franklin, economist Alan Greenspan, activist Jesse Jackson and former Secretary of State Henry Kissinger.

On Friday -- 50 years to the day Kennedy was assassinated -- Obama is to meet privately at the White House with leaders and volunteers from the Peace Corps, which Kennedy established in 1961.

Obama has a full day of events to mark Kennedy's assassination, but he can't spare the time to mark the 150th anniversary of Abraham Lincoln's Gettysburg Address, a defining moment in American history, and visit that hallowed ground.

Very bad decision. Very, very bad.

TIME'S Person of the Year

TIME's Person of the Year is a joke, mainly because TIME is a joke.

It's like the Nobel Peace Prize, a farce.

Nonetheless, it has been a yearly ritual since 1927, when Charles Lindbergh was declared TIME's Man of the Year.

The Person of the Year, formerly the Man of the Year, is not necessarily supposed to be an honor.

It's more of a recognition.

TIME's selection criteria:

TIME's Person of the Year is bestowed by the editors on the person or persons who most affected the news and our lives, for good or ill, and embodied what was important about the year.

TIME is encouraging readers to participate in its Person of the Year poll.

Of course, Internet polls have no controls whatsoever. They are worthless.

Anyway, TIME's editors wants the public to be part of the Person of the Year lunacy.

As always, TIME's editors will choose the Person of the Year, but that doesn't mean readers shouldn't have their say. Cast your vote for the person you think most influenced the news this year for better or worse. Voting closes at 11:59 PM on December 12th and the winner will be announced on December 14.

Without question, this woman should be TIME's Person of the Year.

The woman in this video, was protesting outside a Mitt Romney rally in Bedford, Ohio, near Cleveland, saying minorities in Cleveland need to vote for Obama because he gives them phones.

They did vote for Obama. They voted to get free stuff, rather than be free.

Chris Matthews Boycott

Chris Matthews' comment about being "so glad" Hurricane Sandy hit the week before the presidential election was shockingly insensitive. Even for Matthews, someone who constantly says terribly unfair and inappropriate things, this was way over the line. Dozens were killed and millions suffered as a result of the storm, but it helped elect Obama for a second term - a good thing in Matthews' warped world.

Rush Limbaugh made inappropriate remarks about Sandra Fluke. He apologized. That wasn't good enough for the Leftists. The first shot had been fired and nothing was going to stop the Democrats' "War on Women" strategy.

They waged a war on Limbaugh, with an all-out assault to get him off the air by pressuring his sponsors to dump him.

Obama placed a high profile phone call to Fluke. He was so concerned about her. (Of course, he sends the families of our war dead form letters.)

Why is Matthews getting off the hook so easily? Why aren't his sponsors being pressured to drop him? Why hasn't MSNBC fired him for his truly despicable statements?

Apparently, some apologies are accepted and some apologies will never be accepted.

If you're a Leftist, you'll be forgiven. If you're a conservative, you're unforgivable.

Sean Kedzie, Romney Yard Sign Beating (Audio)

Sean Kedzie, 22-year-old son of Wisconsin State Senator Neal Kedzie, was beaten early Friday morning by two thugs.

It all started when the thugs were stealing Sean's Mitt Romney yard sign.

Charlie Sykes posts State Sen. Neal Kedzie's statement:

Early on Friday morning, October 19th, my son Sean was awakened by noises outside his residence in Whitewater. As he went to see what the commotion was about, he noticed an individual removing a Romney/Ryan yard sign from his property. He yelled to the person that they were taking something not theirs and to return it immediately. The individual returned the sign, however, a second person confronted and attacked Sean without warning.

Sean was wrestled to the ground by both persons, held down by a constricting chokehold, and struck repeatedly about the face and head. He nearly passed out from the chokehold and suffered contusions to his face and eyes.

Fortunately, an alert neighbor heard the commotion, scared the individuals away, and called the police. My wife and I were awakened by a telephone call from Sean’s roommate that Sean had been taken by ambulance to Fort Atkinson Memorial Hospital.

Sean was treated for his injuries and released from the hospital the same day. As this was a private family matter, we chose not to remark publicly about it and allow law enforcement to do their job. But we understand these types of incidents will eventually become public and questions will arise, particularly in my position as a state legislator.

Sean is still recovering from the injuries he sustained as a result of this beating, and we are confident he will make a full recovery. But obviously, as parents, we are shaken by this event and very troubled it was apparently initiated and motivated for political reasons.

Sean described the details of the beating and the extent of his injuries.

When Sean first engaged the two college-age males who stole his sign, they were about 20 to 30 yards away. He called to them, telling them to bring the sign back.

One guy apologized, saying he was really sorry. He put it back in the yard, as his friend came around the side of Sean. They both jumped him. He was choked and punched repeatedly in the head.

During the beating, the two males said things like, "F*** Romney" and "Romney sucks" and "Go Obama."

The assault was so brutal that the emergency room physician treating Sean was concerned that he might have skull fractures or a fractured eye socket. He said his left eye was injured so severely that it was swollen shut and he couldn't see.

This appears to be a politically motivated assault. Without question, it has political elements. Take note, Americans.

This is why in some areas of Wisconsin, conservatives fear expressing our support for Republican candidates.

In this case, the thugs became physically violent. The attack wasn't just a verbal lashing or a matter of damaging property.

Sean said the choking was so extreme he was starting to blackout. He said the grip on his throat was so tight he couldn't spit out the word "please" to get them to stop.

Thankfully, Sean didn't receive any long-term injuries. But those doing the beating certainly didn't know that their extreme barbarism wouldn't leave Sean with permanent damage or worse.

This is sickening.

I think Obama should call Sean, to show his concern. After all, he found time to call Sandra Fluke. Obama should condemn the thugs, his own supporters. He won't. Obama's supporters won't condemn the thugs' actions either. They'll ignore it. The liberal media will likely do the same, until they can talk to the thugs and interview them.

As Sean said, "If this is what democracy looks like, then we are in a lot more trouble than we realized."

Sadly, this is what things have come to in Wisconsin.

Thugs may be successful at intimidating us to openly show our support for Mitt Romney, just as they did during the Leftists' failed recall of Gov. Scott Walker.

But we won't be intimidated at the polls.

This beating will be avenged, peacefully, each time one of us casts a vote from Mitt Romney and Paul Ryan.

On November 18, 2011, the Wisconsin State Journal described the destruction of a recall petition in Madison with 286 words ( “Police: Man ripped up Walker recall petition and drove off,” Wisconsin State Journal, 11/18/11).

On November 22, 2011, the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel and the Wisconsin State Journal detailed with quotes how a recall petition was destroyed on the campus of Edgewood College in Madison with 197 words from the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel and 416 words by the Wisconsin State Journal (“Recall petition destroyed on Edgewood College campus,” Milwaukee Journal Sentinel, 11/22/11, “Police investigate claim that Edgewood College student destroyed Scott Walker recall petition,” Wisconsin State Journal, 11/30/11)

And on February 16, 2012, Milwaukee Journal Sentinel columnist Jim Stingl published a whopping 632 words detailing the plight of a man whose Recall Walker yard sign was attacked with eggs multiple times (“Political battles has scrambled our civility,” Milwaukee Journal Sentinel, 2/16/12).

Tom Logan and Obama's Letter

Tom Logan lost his 22-year-old son, USMC Cpl. Joseph D. Logan, in Afghanistan.

It's the worst news a parent can receive, that one's child is dead.

My heart breaks for the Logan family and all the others experiencing the same pain.

Obama often refers to the heart-wrenching process of writing letters of condolence to the families of the fallen.

Turns out, those letters, at least some of them, are FORM LETTERS.

Gateway Pundit confirms: "Obama Sent Same Form Letter to Parents of All Fallen Soldiers, Marines, SEALs."

Apparently, the compassionate Obama, always campaigning and fundraising and golfing, just doesn't have time to write a personal letter to the grieving families.

Here's Tom Logan's story, from KRPC, Houston:

A man who lost a son to the war in Afghanistan is disappointed in the condolence letter he received from President Barack Obama.

Tom Logan, a Willis resident, calls the note late, impersonal, disrespectful and essentially a form letter.

"It opened up a wound in our heart you can't fix. You can't send another letter. You can't make it right," Logan said.

Logan's son, USMC Cpl. Joseph D. Logan, was killed Jan. 19, 2012, along with five other men when the helicopter they were in crashed.

Joey Logan was 22.

"He would have been more mad about this than I am," Tom Logan said.

Tom Logan said he believes Obama did little more than sign his name to the document. He believes his son deserved more.

Local 2 Investigates examined two other letters sent by Obama to families of soldiers killed in action. The one-page typed condolence letters were identical other than names, ranks and service branches.

...[University of Houston Professor and Historian Nancy Beck] Young examined the letter written to Tom Logan, which arrived by UPS truck four months after his son's death.

"I would agree, this is a personal sacrifice and an impersonal condolence," Young said.

Young said that it appears Obama's predecessor, George W. Bush, wrote more personal, individualized, sometimes hand-written notes to the families of soldiers.

Why would it take four months for Joey Logan's parents to receive a letter from the White House?

FOUR MONTHS???

After that inexcusable wait, the letter is nothing but an impersonal condolence.

This truly is a disgrace, but it's what I would expect of the cold, selfish, detached Obama.

Obviously, condolences to our military families aren't high on Obama's priority list.

As Mark Levin noted, Obama personally called Sandra Fluke. He was concerned about her. GIVE ME A BREAK!

Obama should be ashamed. I don't want to hear him talk about the difficult task of writing to the families of our war dead ever again.

These precious lives were lost fighting for our country. They made the ultimate sacrifice. Their families deserve so much more than a form letter.

Sandra Fluke's prime time address to the Democrats reeked of dishonesty.

She distorted and lied and didn't make sense, but the party faithful loved it all.

SANDRA FLUKE: In that America, your new president could be a man who stands by when a public figure tries to silence a private citizen with hateful slurs. Who won't stand up to the slurs, or to any of the extreme, bigoted voices in his own party. It would be an America in which you have a new vice president who co-sponsored a bill that would allow pregnant women to die preventable deaths in our emergency rooms. An America in which states humiliate women by forcing us to endure invasive ultrasounds we don't want and our doctors say we don't need. An America in which access to birth control is controlled by people who will never use it; in which politicians redefine rape so survivors are victimized all over again; in which someone decides which domestic violence victims deserve help, and which don't. We know what this America would look like. In a few short months, it's the America we could be. But it's not the America we should be. It's not who we are.

What a crock!

Dennis Miller and Jay Leno: Debt Clock, Republican Convention (Video)

Jay Leno is completely out of the closet as an Obama supporter.

Dennis Miller was his guest on Monday's show.

When Leno is interviewing Obama hacks, he never challenges their lies and misinformation. He just goes along with it, but he doesn't really say that he's in Obama's camp.

However, with Miller, Leno admitted to being for Obama and sort of debated with him. Leno gave his reasons for supporting Obama. Of course, they were idiotic, such as Obama has "compassion for regular people" and the War on Women thing. As I said, idiotic.

Miller, thankfully, responded, pointing out how ridiculous Leno's thoughts were. In regard to the War on Women, Miller brought up Sandra Fluke.

DENNIS MILLER: War on Women??? This Sandra Fluke? She's 30, for God's sake. She's still in school. She wants me to kick in ten bucks a month for her birth control? Here, I'll give you ten. Just shut up for a second, OK? War on Women, for God's sake. The chick's like 'Moan of Arc.' Come on.

What was interesting was the discussion of the debt clocks at the Republican National Convention.

When I saw the two clocks, the national debt clock and the clock showing the debt racked up since the convention began, I thought it was a tremendous idea. It's a visual reminder of how dire the situation is in the country. It illustrates just how high the stakes are in this election. The clocks are a stroke of genius.

Turns out, Dennis Miller may be responsible for the clocks' presence at the convention.

MILLER: I had written an article last month for Bill Kristol's Weekly Standard, which is a great magazine. He has a blog site, and I said that they should put the debt clock over the stage. And they should hit a Jeopardy button at the beginning, and like start the debt clock from zero and see what happens over the four days, how much debt we run on. I saw that they were doing that. I think that'll be a good thing.

Miller made some jokes about Joe Biden, pointing out what we all know - that Biden is a buffoon.

For example:

MILLER: They say Paul Ryan has six percent body fat. I guarantee you Biden's got eight percent between his ears.

Leno stood up for Biden.

JAY LENO: I like Joe.

Leno said that in all seriousness.

Miller said, "He's a moron, Jay."

After a commercial break, they talked about Todd Akin.

Miller called Akin a moron and an idiot.

Leno actually said that he's glad that Akin came forward with his comments because he was saying what the Republican platform is and "that's what many believe."

And Leno parrots the Left's talking point, pinning Akin's idiocy on all the Republicans.

Good grief. And do all the people on the Left believe in the horrific partial-birth procedure and infanticide, like Obama?

Miller said there are things he likes about Obama.

MILLER: He's kept Gitmo open. He's kept the Patriot Act. He'll smoke a terrorist like that. [Snaps his fingers]

Of course, Obama promised not to do those things. Oh, well. At least those broken Obama promises are good for the country.

Leno gave his analysis on the election, claiming that Romney had to go "all the way Right, which I think will ultimately hurt him in the long run." Miller came back strong to that.

MILLER: And you don't think this cat right now is all the way Left? Do you think everybody out there who is not doing well in life, has been screwed by life, or do you think some of them are idiots? You know, I want to help the helpless, but I don't give a rat's ass about the clueless anymore, Jay.

We've got to start isolating those two things. If somebody doesn't want to get it together, and they want to get loaded all day, I'm sorry, I don't have anything left in the tank. I see enough authentic heartbreaks in the world that I'm not going to give it up for some loser who doesn't want to bust his ass. That's just common sense.

Leno went on about having "compassion for that person that's down and out."

Again, Miller retorted.

MILLER: I look at Romney and Ryan and think they're compassionate men. And I think at some point to never have any expectation over somebody's who's gaming it, I don't think that's a compassionate gesture. I think that's a naive one. And I think that's where I differentiate from Obama. I want to help the helpless. I don't care about the clueless anymore. I think the helpless need more than they get right now and the clueless have to be taken off the teat.

I'm glad Leno had Miller as a guest.

Overwhelmingly, Leno books liberals to talk politics. Every night, it's an Obama campaign ad. It's so rare for someone presenting support for conservatives to be on the show. Leno definitely makes no effort at equal time.

Sandra Fluke, crusader against religious liberty, has resurfaced.

Obama's campaign is using her for fundraising.

In a recent statement that was both factually inaccurate and horribly offensive, Republican Missouri Senate candidate Rep. Todd Akin said that victims of "legitimate rape" don't get pregnant because "the female body has ways to try to shut that whole thing down."

Mitt Romney and Paul Ryan tried to distance themselves from the remark -- but the fact is they're in lockstep with Akin on the major women's health issues of our time. Just this morning, the Republican Party voted to include the "Human Life Amendment" in their platform, calling for a constitutional ban on abortions nationwide, even for rape victims. Several Romney supporters and advisers stood silently by while this vote took place, and the Los Angeles Times reports that the platform "was written at the direction of Romney's campaign."

President Obama spoke out in response to Akin's comments: "What I think these comments do underscore is why we shouldn't have a bunch of politicians, a majority of whom are men, making health care decisions on behalf of women."

This controversy is not an accident, or a mistake, or an isolated incident. It's a reflection of a Republican Party whose policies are dangerous for women.

There is a clear choice for women in this election: Stand with President Obama.

I entered this national debate on women's rights in February, when, as a Georgetown Law student, I testified before members of Congress on the issue of contraception.

Without knowing me or my story, Rush Limbaugh called me a "slut" and a "prostitute" on his radio show.

Many Americans stepped forward to tell me they agreed with me, and supported my right to speak out without being verbally attacked. President Obama stood with us.

Mitt Romney, on the other hand? He didn't even condemn the remark, instead saying only: "It's not the language I would have used."

Since that moment, I'm even more resolved to continue the fight to make sure every single woman -- and every man who cares about the women in his life -- knows exactly what's at stake in this election. The Republicans are frighteningly clear on these issues.

The party platform itself includes a "salute" to states that have pushed "informed consent" laws, such as those that force women seeking an abortion to first undergo an invasive and medically unnecessary ultrasound.

Just last year, Paul Ryan joined Todd Akin and more than 200 other Republicans in co-sponsoring legislation that would have narrowed the definition of rape, limiting which victims of rape were "legitimate" enough to receive financial assistance for access to abortion care.

Mitt Romney famously says he would "get rid of" Planned Parenthood if he had the chance. And both Romney and Ryan pledge to go back to a system where insurance companies can discriminate against women and charge us more than men for the same health insurance.

Akin's comments shouldn't be surprising. But this isn't about him -- just like it was never about me.

President Obama has told us what he's fighting for: "I want women to control their own health choices, just like I want my daughters to have the same opportunities as your sons."

Republicans, led by Romney and Ryan, have made it clear that they want to make our decisions for us.

President Obama trusts us to make our own.

Trayvon Martin, Obama's 'Son,' and Hoodies

Obama had the audacity to declare Trayvon Martin to be like the son he never had. He went on to lecture us on our need to do "soul-searching."

President Barack Obama weighed into the controversial killing of a black teenager in Florida in very personal terms on Friday, comparing the boy to a son he doesn't have and calling for American "soul searching" over how the incident occurred.

Seventeen-year-old Trayvon Martin, dressed in a "hoodie" sweatshirt, was shot dead a month ago in Sanford, Florida by a 28-year-old white Hispanic neighborhood watch volunteer who said he was acting in self-defense.

"If I had a son, he'd look like Trayvon," Obama said in his first comments about the shooting, acknowledging the racial element in the case.

"Obviously, this is a tragedy," Obama told reporters. "I can only imagine what these parents are going through. And when I think about this boy, I think about my own kids."

The case has rippled across the nation and prompted rallies protesting the failure of the police to arrest the shooter, George Zimmerman, and, more broadly, a pattern of racial discrimination black leaders cite in Sanford and elsewhere in the country.

It's tragic that Trayvon Martin is dead.

My heart breaks for his family.

I don't know the facts of the case, but I want to see justice done.

Sadly, too many teens die senseless deaths in this country. Sadder, their deaths don't receive the sort of recognition we're seeing with Trayvon Martin.

Obama doesn't comment on the epidemic of lives lost through violence. He doesn't say something as ridiculous as, "If I had a son, he'd look like Trayvon." He doesn't say a word about all the others. He doesn't talk about what they look like. They're nameless and faceless. Don't they matter?

I can't help but think Obama is inserting himself into this high profile case for political purposes. He seems to see it as an opportunity. I believes he thinks "wars" will help him get reelected.

We already have the fake "War on Women." He had to call Sandra Fluke because he was so concerned about her. Never mind Bristol Palin or Sarah Palin and the abuse they've endured. No phone calls for them.

Now, it appears Obama would like a "War on African Americans." He thinks of Trayvon Martin as his son. Never mind all the others, the ones who wouldn't look like his son if had one.

It's so weird. It's cringe-inducing.

I don't think AMERICA is need of "soul-searching" because of the death of Trayvon Martin. Why does Obama think that is in order?

It's wrong to take this very tragic case and turn it into a national problem, as if it's an indication that the entire country is dysfunctional when it comes to race.

We aren't all to blame for Martin's death. We have nothing to do with it.

We aren't a nation of racists because racially motivated crimes occur in the U.S.

We need perspective on this. Obama should be careful not to stoke racial tension. It's wrong to move the country backward and create division where none exists.

Who isn't troubled by the shooting death of a 17-year-old?

Obama would be wise to stress the importance of unity in the country, respect for others, and liberty and justice for all.

I guess if Obama really wants to score political points, he should wear a hoodie, too. What a great photo op!

Letterman not only insulted Sarah Palin. He took a shot at flight attendants.

No problem for Obama. No problem for Michelle.

Letterman has spent years verbally viciously assaulting Sarah Palin and her children, with impunity for the most part.

He was pressured into apologizing for a vile, tasteless "joke" he made about Willow Palin; but Letterman hasn't apologized for his relentless attacks on Sarah Palin. Degrading her seems to be one of his favorite pastimes.

Obama, Michelle, and the Dems can't have it both ways.

If they are going to run around yapping about this "War on Women," they have to be consistent.

Letterman shouldn't get a pass. Bill Maher shouldn't get a pass. Jon Stewart shouldn't get a pass.

Sarah Palin, Obama, and Attacks on Conservative Women

Sarah Palin says it's time for Obama to drop the double standard when it comes to attacks on women.

Obama accepts a $1 million donation from the vile, foul-mouthed, misogynistic Bill Maher via a super PAC. Palin calls it "dirty money."

She's right.

Palin says, "It shouldn't surprise us that Barack Obama would accept that dirty money and try to get reelected with it. I think it does not bode well for our president's character to not speak out against that dirty money."

QUESTION: Last thing. The President spoke out in the news conference about how people need to be careful with their language in general, and he spoke about his own daughters and setting an example. I know he's not the language police, you're not the language police from this podium to pick on people on the left or the right. But there is a letter that went to the Chief of Staff today from a conservative group, Concerned Women for America, saying that the President should direct this super PAC, on the Democratic side, that took a million-dollar check from Bill Maher, who has had some pretty coarse things to say about conservative women.

And I understand the President can't -- he's not in charge of the super PAC, it's an outside thing. But he did bless that PAC and say to his supporters, you should give to this PAC if you want to. So can he also say, give a million-dollar check back if it's from somebody who said these things?

JAY CARNEY: I think the points that you made as you were asking your question are the ones that I will make, which is that we are not, and cannot be, the arbitrator of every statement that everybody makes in the policy and political arena.

As a general matter, obviously language that denigrates women is inappropriate. And I think I would point you to what the President said when he was asked about this during his press conference, which is that he chooses to lead by example, or to try to. He chooses to, in the pursuit of a more civil discourse in our public space, he chooses to try to practice that civility himself. And he calls on everybody to do just that.

What a load!

Obama is a hypocrite.

His fellow Leftists are hypocrites.

I believe the majority of Americans realize this and will vote for change in November.

We know all about the hypocrisy of the Left and Obama, but this election won't hinge on Maher's spewings and Obama's condoning of that filth.

It will be about the lives of Americans. Are we better off than we were four years ago?

Obama can't run away from his record. He has failed miserably as president. His policies are not helping the economy. To the contrary, his "grow the government" and "spread the wealth around" philosophy is killing the American Dream and chipping away at the private sector.

Americans don't want radicals like Obama and company in charge of the country. Thanks to the liberals of the Obama-friendly media, many people were in the dark regarding the real Obama.

Obama wants to talk about "free" contraception and the "war on women" and Rush Limbaugh.

That's not a winning plan for reelection. The country is falling apart and that's what Obama is babbling about? Crazy.

Rush Limbaugh and Sleep Train

The War on Rush Limbaugh is backfiring.

Some sponsors, long-time sponsors, bailed on Limbaugh in the wake of his comments regarding Sandra Fluke.

Now, they're begging to come back.

Rather than welcoming the return of the advertisers, Limbaugh is saying "no thanks."

From the Los Angeles Times:

The intense campaign to cut advertising to “The Rush Limbaugh Show” took another turn Thursday when one of the first companies to pull its ads reportedly asked to return to the radio show -- only to be told by Team Limbaugh that the conservative host no longer would give his endorsement.

A Limbaugh spokesman said that California mattress company Sleep Train asked to restart a “voiced endorsement” from Limbaugh that it had publicly cut off last week. The company said at the time that it “does not condone such negative comments toward any person.”

Several activist groups have called for companies to drop their ads after Limbaugh called a Georgetown law school student a “slut” and a “prostitute” for her support of a proposal to mandate birth control in standard healthcare coverage.

Sleep Train's departure from the program had been billed by some observers as particularly significant because the mattress retailer had been with Limbaugh show for 25 years. Yet the tone of Sleep Train's withdrawal statement last Friday hinted it might not be pulling out for the long run.

“As a diverse company, Sleep Train does not condone such negative comments directed toward any person,” Sleep Train said at the time. “We have currently pulled our ads with Rush Limbaugh.”

Still, Washington Post blogger Erik Wemple called Sleep Train's decision "an act worth crediting," saying that lost ads would have more of an effect on Limbaugh than "well-crafted expressions of outrage from the usual organs."

Limbaugh spokesman Brian Glicklich on Thursday forwarded a copy of an email that he said had been sent to Sleep Train Chief Executive Dale Carlsen. In it, Glicklich wrote that Limbaugh had personally received the company's requests to resume advertising on his show.

“Unfortunately," Glicklich wrote, "your public comments were not well received by our audience, and did not accurately portray either Rush Limbaugh's character or the intent of his remarks. Thus, we regret to inform you that Rush will be unable to endorse Sleep Train in the future.”

This was a foregone conclusion.

There was no way the Leftists were going to win this war.

Limbaugh's enormous audience isn't going to bail on him, plain and simple.

The advertisers who chose not to accept Limbaugh's apology for his on-air comments dug their own graves.

The Leftist media aren't taking defeat well. They've resorted to lying.

During his press conference yesterday, Obama explained why he called Sandra Fluke, the 30-year-old Georgetown law student and activist.

Obama wasn't asked about the phone call, but he talked about it anyway. I think he spent a lot of time rehearsing and preparing for a "Fluke phone call" question, so he worked it in.

Q Thank you, Mr. President. Do you believe Rush Limbaugh's apology to the Georgetown law student was sufficient and heartfelt? Do you agree with the decision of the growing number of sponsors that have decided to drop his show or stop supporting his show? And has there been a double standard on this issue? Liberal commentators have made similarly provocative or distasteful statements and there hasn't been such an outrage.

THE PRESIDENT: I'm not going to comment on what sponsors decide to do. I'm not going to comment on either the economics or the politics of it. I don't know what's in Rush Limbaugh's heart, so I'm not going to comment on the sincerity of his apology. What I can comment on is the fact that all decent folks can agree that the remarks that were made don't have any place in the public discourse.

And the reason I called Ms. Fluke is because I thought about Malia and Sasha, and one of the things I want them to do as they get older is to engage in issues they care about, even ones I may not agree with them on. I want them to be able to speak their mind in a civil and thoughtful way. And I don't want them attacked or called horrible names because they're being good citizens. And I wanted Sandra to know that I thought her parents should be proud of her, and that we want to send a message to all our young people that being part of a democracy involves argument and disagreements and debate, and we want you to be engaged, and there's a way to do it that doesn't involve you being demeaned and insulted, particularly when you’re a private citizen.

Nauseating.

Sandra Fluke and Sex Change

Sandra Fluke, the current darling of the Left, crusader for forcing religious institutions like Georgetown to provide health insurance that pays for contraception, thinks private employers should also be required to offer policies that cover sex change operations.

The failure to cover gender reassignment is discriminatory, in Fluke's world.

She's been exposed as an activist and an extremist, with a well-defined agenda, a willing tool for the Democrats.

"The Democrats played games with us the day before [the hearing]," says a Republican committee source. "After days of asking for a witness, they waited until the last minute, the afternoon before the hearing. They asked us to invite Rev. Barry Lynn [head of Americans United for Separation of Church and State] and Ms. Fluke. We said we'll invite one, per standard procedure. We formally invited Rev. Lynn, and the Democrats, at 4:30 pm, changed their mind and said they wanted Fluke. We said too late. They told Rev. Lynn not to show up the next day."

When the hearing took place, Democrats proceeded to clobber Republicans. "Where are the women?" asked New York Rep. Carolyn Maloney as she looked at the all-male first panel for the hearing. (Two women testified in the hearing's second panel, but Maloney and her fellow Democrats ignored that.)

Issa explained that Democrats had requested Barry Lynn, that Lynn was invited, and that Democrats then retracted the Lynn request. As for Fluke, Issa said Republicans had never heard of the Democrats' last-minute choice. "I asked our staff what is her background, what has she done," Issa said at the hearing. "They did the usual that we do when we're not provided the three days and the forms to go with it. They did a Google search. They looked and found that she was, in fact, and is a college student who appears to have become energized over this issue and participated in approximately a 45-minute press conference…I cannot and will not arbitrarily take a majority or minority witness if they do not have the appropriate credentials, both for a hearing at the full committee of the U.S. House of Representatives and if we cannot vet them in a timely fashion." (Fluke is in fact a 30 year-old law student with an extensive history of activism in leftist causes.)

...So Issa had his reasons for refusing to give Fluke a spot. And indeed, as it turned out, she didn't have much to say. The entire basis of her testimony to the Democratic Steering Committee the next week was that she had "a friend" who had a medical problem that required her to take birth control pills. Georgetown's policy covers her friend's condition, Fluke said, but did not actually pay for the pills, which caused her friend to stop purchasing and taking the pills and, later, to suffer a medical emergency. It was all pretty vague, and certainly wasn't expert testimony.

Now that Fluke is in the spotlight, and there has been time to find out more about her activism and extremism, the Democrats and Obama might have regrets about choosing her to be the face of their campaign to appeal to women voters.

When Fluke made her statements to the Democratic Steering Committee, she told stories about "friends." Vague stuff.

Her article in the Georgetown Journal of Gender and the Law, "Employment Discrimination Against LGBTQ Persons," coedited with Karen Hu, reveals she expects religious institutions like Georgetown to provide dramatically more than contraceptive coverage in insurance policies.

Stephen Gutowski summarizes Fluke's stance:

"Gender reassignment" is a medically necessary set of procedures that must be covered under employee provided health insurance policies. If it is not covered by those policies that is tantamount to discrimination and legal action should be taken against the employer.

I suspect Democrats will continue to paint Fluke as a victim and dismiss Fluke's radicalism.

I doubt they want the American public to be fully informed when it comes to Sandra Fluke.
