Graeme Zielinski's Court Appearance

Crazed DEMOCRAT Graeme Zielinski was supposed to appear in court on Thursday, September 5, for his THIRD OWI charge.

The former spokesman for the Democratic Party of Wisconsin apparently has no respect for the law and our legal system.

He blew off his court date.

From FOX6 News:
40-year-old Graeme Zielinski, the former spokesman for the Democratic Party of Wisconsin was a no show for a court appearance on Thursday, September 5th in Jefferson County.

...In court on Thursday, Zielinski’s lawyer appeared, and a judge said Zielinski needs to show up for all future court dates, and set a November trial date.
From Right Wisconsin:
Milwaukee Sheriff David Clarke Jr, a Democrat, points out what should be, more or less, obvious about Zielinski's decision to hide out today:
This is a crime he has been charged with, he has to show. That coward. He didn't want to face the media.

The judge should have issued a bench warrant. This whole thing is amazing.
On Thursday morning, Zielinski tweeted his plans for the day:

Zielinski flips off the court and hangs out with Sly instead. That's not good.

It's not surprising, but it's not good.

Zielinski doesn't seem to be taking his THIRD OWI seriously. I sense no remorse.

Zielinski needs to take responsibility for his behavior and act like a grown-up.

Dale Schultz and Sly Sylvester: Trashing Conservative Talk Radio (Audio)

Alleged Republican Dale Schultz appeared on Sly Sylvester's radio show, now broadcast on WEKZ-FM in Monroe. The Leftist talker lost his on-air home on WTDY.

Of course, Sylvester is worse than a dyed-in-the-wool liberal. He's a misogynist. He's a hater.

Wisconsin State Senator Dale Schultz seems to like the guy.

Schultz whined about 620 WTMJ having every legislator from southeastern Wisconsin "shaking in their boots." He called it "humiliating" for legislators to be "hauled in there" to "swear allegiance" and talk to host Charlie Sykes.

Here's audio, (h/t Vicki McKenna):

If Schultz is liked by Sylvester, it's time to oust Schultz if he dares to run for reelection.

Schultz claims to be a Republican. That charade is over.

Susan B. Anthony Pro-Life Bus Tour - Madison Protests

The Susan B. Anthony List Bus Tour, "Women Speak Out," stopped in Madison yesterday.

Pro-abortion protesters attempted to disrupt the pro-life speakers, including Lt. Gov. Rebecca Kleefisch.

From the Cap Times:

A lineup of prominent state and national pro-life speakers, including Lt. Gov. Rebecca Kleefisch, had their “Abortion is not health care” message shouted down in Madison Tuesday, with exchanges between opposing sides at one point nearly coming to blows.

The Susan B. Anthony List anti-abortion bus tour through five key swing states in advance of the November elections made its most controversial stop yet, at James Madison Park. A crowd of roughly 50 supporters who gathered around the bus found themselves besieged by a small but vocal group of pro-choice advocates.

“Only in Madison,” Sue Armacost, Wisconsin Right to Life’s political action committee director, told the crowd before making her prepared statements.

The local stop to campaign against President Barack Obama, Congresswoman Tammy Baldwin and other Democrats' so-called “extreme and radical” pro-choice agenda quickly was transformed by pro-choice forces to include the national abortion-related news of the week.

Shouts of “Akin, Akin, Akin!” were among the first wave of chants by pro-choice supporters, who were initially led by provocative local radio talk show host John "Sly" Sylvester.

Shouts of “Republicans suck!” and “Shame, shame!” soon followed from the roughly dozen protesters who encircled the crowd, drowning out the words of the intended speakers.

So much for the new civility touted by Obama and the Leftists.

What hypocrisy!

Here's video of the infamous misogynist, Sly Sylvester, heckling the pro-life speakers:

Here's video of more pro-abortion protesters:

Not very respectful, is it?

What was that about a War on Women?

Be proud, Democrats!

Kill the unborn! YAY! WOO HOO!

Keep it up!

Do you really think this sort of behavior helps Tammy Baldwin or Obama in Wisconsin?

Didn't you learn anything from your disastrous recall of the very popular, successful Gov. Scott Walker?

Your lunacy will help put Mitt Romney and Paul Ryan in the White House. Your boorishness and extremism will help elect Tommy Thompson to the U.S. Senate.

Tom Barrett Victory Speech (Video)

Tom Barrett, coming off his Democrat primary win, gave a bizarre victory speech.

Of course, he's still yapping about Governor Walker's "civil war."

If there is a civil war in Wisconsin, the Leftists started it when they decided to occupy the capitol and when the 14 Democrat senators fled Madison to hide out in Illinois to avoid doing their jobs. They declared war, defying the will of the people and the results of the November 2010 election.

Barrett's "civil war" theme is so odd. His whining about the war that he and his comrades started is so lame. His calls for healing ring so very hollow.

What I found most striking about Barrett's speech was his delivery. He was yelling. He had a crazed look. He was livid. It made me uncomfortable to watch him.

I got the feeling that for Barrett this race is personal. I got the feeling that Barrett really hates Walker. It's like all the bitterness from his past losses erupted.

The entire speech was an attack on Governor Walker. He kept talking (yelling) about money and Walker's donors.

There was no substance. Barrett said he's going to "fix this state."

One problem: Barrett never said a word about how he was going to do it. Nothing.

There were no ideas, no plans. Nothing but hate for Scott Walker and a vow to end that darn "civil war" plaguing the state.

Barrett's last words: "Let's go get him!"

Sorry, but that's creepy.

The whole thing was creepy.

Here's video of Barrett's speech:

Note to Tom: Yelling won't make your litany of failures in Milwaukee go away. You have a record as mayor, and it's horrendous.

____________________

Remember, Leftists, the Democrat unity rally is cancelled.

Listen to John "Sly" Sylvester talk to Democrat party chair Mike Tate about the sudden change of plans.

Tom Barrett didn't want it to happen. He didn't want to be seen getting cozy with the union bosses and the minions. Barrett didn't want to deal with the thuggish signs and the other thug stuff.

Union Leftists are not happy that Barrett has snubbed them.

"Civil wars" are messy things, aren't they?

Sly Sylvester - Misogynist, Hater on WTDY

John "Sly" Sylvester, WTDY radio host, must be held accountable for his sexist, vulgar attacks on Wisconsin Lt. Gov. Rebecca Kleefisch.

Women of Wisconsin, women of America, why are you giving this man who says the most despicable things about Rebecca Kleefisch a pass?

Wisconsin media, why are you not covering the assault on Kleefisch?

Sylvester isn't attacking her because of her policy positions or political statements. There's no civil debate here. His attacks are purely personal and vicious. Sylvester isn't content to trash Kleefisch. He goes after her young children as well.

And what do we get when our lieutenant governor and her family is under assault by this media personality, embraced by the likes of wannabe governors, Leftist politicians, union puppets Kathleen Falk and Tom Barrett?

Nothing.

The mainstream/Leftist media aren't shedding any light on what should be an outrage.

No decent person makes comments like Sylvester. Why is this man given a forum on the radio to spew his hate?

Where is the outrage?

Women, WAKE UP!

There is a War on Women in Wisconsin, being waged by the Leftists and the union minions and their media mouthpieces.

I don't want to silence Sylvester. I don't care if WTDY thinks it's a good idea to keep him on the air.

I want Sylvester to treat women with respect and conduct himself with at least a modicum of civility.

Charlie Sykes has posted a response comparing Media Matters' campaign to oust Rush Limbaugh for his remarks about Sandra Fluke with Sylvester's attack on Kleefisch.

On the heels of "Media Matters For America" running radio ads attempting to get sponsors to bail over the Rush Limbaugh "slut" comments, it's time that conservatives draw attention to the hateful speech by lefty talk show hosts using this same PSA method.

Listen.

Waiting for the Left - the Democrat/Union/Media Complex - to respond.

Waiting for Kathleen Falk to condemn Sylvester.

Waiting for Tom Barrett to condemn Sylvester.

Waiting for the Leftist protesters in Madison to chant, "SHAME, SHAME, SHAME."

Their silence is deafening.

Time for Sylvester to be held accountable.

Conservatives are not going to allow the attacks on Rebecca Kleefisch to go unanswered.

Will Obama come to Sly's defense? Will Obama say, "If I had a brother, he'd look like Sly?"

I wouldn't be surprised.

Mr. President, "Where's Rebecca Kleefisch's Phone Call?"

Hypocrites-- from Obama, the White House and Media Matters down to the crazed "Your wife's a f---ing whore" protesters occupying the Capitol.

Rebecca Kleefisch Recall

Where is the outrage over the "War on Women" in Wisconsin?

Nothing but crickets from the Leftists, self-proclaimed champions of women.

What a crock!

Wisconsin Lt. Gov. Rebecca Kleefisch is facing a recall election along with Gov. Scott Walker.

She has been the target of the most vile attacks from the Leftists.

Her husband, Rep. Joel Kleefisch, was verbally assaulted by Leftist/Democrat/union protesters. In the Capitol, a women yelled at Kleefisch, "Your wife's a f--- whore!"

Yes, it's ugly.

In "The War on Wisconsin," Michelle Malkin explains to the nation what we know is happening in Wisconsin.

Now is the time for all good tea partiers to come to the aid of Wisconsin. Fiscally conservative leaders in the Badger State are under coordinated siege from Big Labor, the White House, the liberal media and the judiciary. The yearlong campaign of union thuggery, family harassment and intimidation of Republican donors and businesses is about to escalate even further. This is the price the Right pays for doing the right thing.

The most visible target is Gov. Scott Walker, who faces recall on June 5 over his tough package of state budget and public employee union reforms. Three state GOP legislators — Senate Majority Leader Scott Fitzgerald, Sen. Van Wanggaard and Sen. Terry Moulton — also face recall. A fourth target, staunch union reformer and Second Amendment advocate Sen. Pam Galloway, announced she was stepping down last week — leaving the legislature deadlocked and Democratic strategists salivating.

...New poll data released on Tuesday show two potential Democratic rivals neck and neck with Walker. Wisconsin politicos tell me his national name recognition has bolstered public awareness and fundraising efforts. He’s currently sitting on a $5 million war chest. Walker supporters believe the Big Labor-fueled fight will be dirty, but with vigilant backing, he’ll survive.

The outlook for the unhinged Left’s secondary targets, however, is not so bright. Lt. Gov. Rebecca Kleefisch, a tea party candidate who is not part of the GOP establishment, is being treated as collateral damage by the party. Outside of Wisconsin, most conservative activists are not even aware that she may be booted from office for simply doing her job. Kleefisch told me that on a recent fundraising swing in D.C., national GOP leaders were shocked to learn of her plight.

While Democratic femme-a-gogues continue their plaintive wailing about a “war on women,” Kleefisch has battled vile misogyny from liberal detractors. When lefty Wisconsin radio host John “Sly” Sylvester accused Kleefisch of performing “fellatio on all the talk-show hosts in Milwaukee” and sneered that she had “pulled a train” (a crude phrase for gang sex), feminists remained silent. A former television anchor, small businesswoman and mother of two, Kleefisch’s quiet work on economic development has reaped untold dividends for the state. But if conservatives who preach the gospel of fiscal conservatism do not act, the profligate progressives’ vendetta against Wisconsin may result in the first-ever recall of a lieutenant governor in American history.

Kleefisch, a 36-year-old colon cancer survivor, is a fighter who points to her two young daughters when I ask why she’s in the political arena. What message would it send to young tea party moms across the country if Walker survived but Kleefisch was hung out to dry? Will Beltway Republican strategists and donors who constantly harp about the need to diversify the party step up to the plate?

As Malkin points out, "President Obama, the AFL-CIO, SEIU, AFSCME and left-wing operatives know that Wisconsin is Ground Zero in their battle against limited-government activists."

From Breitbart:
Talking with host Charlie Sykes, Lt. Governor Rebecca Kleefisch discusses the effort to recall her from office for no other reason than being supportive of Governor Walker's reforms. She also talks about the hypocritical double standard when it comes to how women are treated by the left and the right.

Here's the audio:

Sarah Palin is lending her support to Rebecca Kleefisch.
I look at the far Left’s assault on Wisconsin and I say, “Are you kidding?” As an outsider (albeit an admitted Green Bay fan with family roots in Chippewa Falls), I join millions of Americans watching the political shenanigans in Wisconsin. I am torn between just chuckling at these radical liberal yahoos trying to oust an intelligent administration that is fulfilling its promises, or raising a fist in disgust at people sitting on their thumbs while Governor Walker and Lt. Governor Kleefisch get thrown to the wolves.

Wisconsin, you deserve better than this!

You’re the “Forward” state – part of the breadbasket that feeds America. Deep woods, pristine waters, esteemed academic institutions, and shining cities reside alongside the dairy farms dotting your picturesque landscape carved out by generations of hard working Americans. In their honor, and to assist the other 49 states, please continue to go forward; don’t let 80 million political dollars – from outside special interests – convince you to go backward towards debt, high taxes, unemployment, and shuttered industry.

You don’t have to let those millions of outside dollars flooding your state destroy the records and reputations of your Governor and Lt. Governor, nor should the political dollars dictate your state’s destiny. You have a choice: Retreat, or fight for the positive reform you elected in 2010.

Governor Walker has left the far Left unhinged, so he’s had to amass a war chest to fend off the lies and dirty dealings in the capitol; and, thankfully, it’s predicted he’ll survive his recall.

But the recall fight that is just as important is Lt. Governor Rebecca Kleefisch’s. Please click this link to help her.

She’s being thrown beyond the wolf pack – she’s also under the GOP establishment’s bus because this Tea Party “Mama Grizzly” beat the establishment candidate when she got elected. (And dang, it’s uncomfortable under that chassis!) Rebecca must be thinking, “With friends like these, who needs enemies?” Worse than seeing radical Leftists attack and make things up about a Conservative female opponent is when supporters on the Right sit on their thumbs and act as if there’s nothing they can do to help. Come on! When all else fails you can at least tell the truth! Tell other voters why you supported Rebecca in the first place. Explain her campaign promises and how she has stuck to them and – surprising in today’s political world – is actually fulfilling them. She promised to help balance the budget, cut taxes, build a sound fiscal environment, and provide job opportunities for all Wisconsin residents – not only our union brothers and sisters. She’s setting an example for every other state in the union because responsible state and local governments will be the entities that defend our Republic at a time when there is less and less reason to believe our big centralized federal government will address its self-perpetuated economic problems.

The far Left has targeted Lt. Governor Kleefisch in particular because they know she’s been busy working and hasn’t raised anywhere near the money Governor Walker has to weather his recall. And get this: they are hoping to keep her off the same ballot as Governor Walker, and instead they would love to put her on a ballot during a Democratic primary in order to give her the worst voter turn out possible. It’s vicious. She’s in the fight of her political life for doing nothing more than what she and Governor Walker were elected to do. If Wisconsin sees either of these two go down in defeat, it will have a chilling effect on any public servant having the guts to do what’s right.

This country’s future won’t shine exceptionally as that “City on a Hill” if we cower, refusing to stand up to the radical Left’s intimidation tactics. Their drive towards more government control with selfish demands to incur more debt and halt efforts to rein in unsustainable spending is seen clearly in Wisconsin. One thing for which grassroots independents, conservatives, and blue dog Democrats should be counted on is to take a stand and rush in to help people secure our future by helping those like Rebecca Kleefisch when they need it the most. Now is one of those times.

Michelle Malkin points out that President Obama knows Wisconsin is ground zero in the Left’s battle against limited government. And, as Michelle writes: “If they can chill fiscal responsibility and free market-based reforms in Wisconsin, they can chill it everywhere.” Concerned Americans, don’t let them snuff out this Mama Grizzly’s successful efforts to fight for what is right.

Grand Old Badger State: you are America’s blessed 30th state. Your natural and human resources abound. Even your state motto promises a vision of “Forward.” So, as the eyes of America focus on you, raise your voice in support of your state’s good destiny!

“On, Wisconsin! Champion of the right,
'Forward', our motto – God will give thee might!”

- Sarah Palin

I am so grateful that conservatives like Sarah Palin and Michelle Malkin are standing with Rebecca Kleefisch and Scott Walker and those of us in Wisconsin fighting the good fight.

Together, we'll prevail.

Sly Sylvester - Filthy

The Leftists love the civility-challenged John "Sly Sylvester.

Apparently, those in attendance at the lame Reclaim Wisconsin labor rally in Madison on Saturday have no problem embracing him.

Talk-radio host Sly rouses the crowd

Thousands of pro-labor spectators are now listening to pre-rally entertainment, ahead of speeches at the state Capitol Saturday.

Madison talk-radio host John "Sly" Sylvester introduced the bands and worked up the crowd with a dig directed at Charles and David Koch, the brothers who are big funders of the conservative movement.

"Take your filthy money and get out of the state," Sylvester said to cheers.

Filthy? FILTHY?

"Filthy" comes to mind when I think of Sly Sylvester, the foul-mouthed hater on WTDY.

Anyone cheering the guy at the rally has filth on their hands as well.

Sly Sylvester and Andrew Breitbart (Audio)

We know the sort of person John "Sly" Sylvester is, radio talk show host on Madison's WTDY.

He is cruel, offensive, insensitive, and utterly shameless.

Recall the truly horrible things he said about Wisconsin's Lt. Gov. Rebecca Kleefisch.

It's no surprise that Sylvester would go ugly in response to Andrew Breitbart's death.

From Media Trackers:

Last Friday, liberal Madison radio-host John “Sly” Sylvester aired an extended segment on 1670 WTDY that celebrated in no uncertain terms the death of conservative activist Andrew Breitbart. Sly posted the 20 minute podcast on his website under the title “Andrew Breitbart: DEAD (thankfully).”

While the title was simply beyond the pale, the content of the podcast is as vile as it gets. Starting at the 5:00 mark and continuing to 6:43 is a monologue by the host Sly in which he mockingly says he would pour weed-killer on Breitbart’s grave. He then compares his joy at the news of Breitbart’s death to that of Yemeni terror leader Anwar al-Awlaki’s death in September 2011.

Media Trackers offers the transcript of portions of Sylvester's rant.

Really sick stuff.

I’m just tired of people faking that they are sad when people are dead. (laughter) I want to say something, and make it real clear…I will never urinate on his grave. (laughter) I’m gonna pour Round-Up on his grave and I’ll tell you why I’m gonna pour Round-Up on his grave. (Laughter) I’m gonna pour Round-Up on his grave so their’s no chance that he ever comes back to life! And I can kill him like the weed that he was. (Laughter)

I’m glad he’s dead!

There are very few people I can say that about. This guy, absolutely! I don’t have the slightest bit compunction of saying “good.” The world is a better place today. Can you think of the last time you’ve been this happy that someone is dead? You want to make a comparison? I was thinking of Anwar al-Awlaki. No, now Sly you’ve gone to far.

No it’s not!

There's more.
To me Andrew Breitbart’s death is kinda similar to Kim Jung Il. Kind of a similar thing. Did Andrew Breitbart have starvation camps? No. But Andrew Breitbart is working on the forces of evil pushing for starvation camps.

Sylvester continues his foul rant and gets callers to engage in the ugliness.

From Brian Sikma, Media Trackers:

"It is deeply disturbing that Sly Sylvester would use his position as a prominent progressive talk show host to engage in such hateful rhetoric," Brian Sikma, communications director of Media Trackers, said. Media Trackers is Wisconsin's leading conservative watchdog organization focusing on government and the media. "It is never appropriate to compare individuals who disagree with us politically to terrorists and murderous dictators."

Sikma also noted that Sylvester has fallen into controversy in the past for making sexual comments about Wisconsin's Lt. Governor, Rebecca Kleefisch. "This is not an isolated incident," he said, "and just as Rush Limbaugh rightfully apologized for his comments made last week, it would be more than appropriate for Mr. Sylvester to apologize to the family of Andrew Breitbart." At one point during his show Sylvester allowed a caller to shockingly wish, "I hope his [Breitbart's] descendants be infested by boils and physical deformity and left only to copulate with beasts…."

Charming!

So will sponsors drop Sylvester?

No. Of course not.

He's not a conservative.

Sheriff David Mahoney

Is Sheriff David Mahoney the right person to investigate the Wisconsin Supreme Court Choking case?

Short answer: NO.

From the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel:

Dane County Sheriff Dave Mahoney -- who is now investigating a claim Supreme Court Justice David Prosser put his hands around another justice’s neck during an argument earlier this month -- endorsed Prosser’s opponent in the recent race for Supreme Court.

The Democratic sheriff endorsed Assistant Attorney General JoAnne Kloppenburg in her challenge to Prosser in the April 5 election. Mahoney and Kloppenburg also use the same campaign manager, Melissa Mulliken, who has worked on many state and local campaigns.

Mahoney took over the investigation Monday at the request of Capitol Police Chief Charles Tubbs. Tubbs said he consulted with the court before turning over the investigation to Mahoney.

Media Trackers spells out the very real concerns about Mahoney's impartiality:
The need for an impartial investigator to look into allegations of a physical altercation between two Wisconsin Supreme Courtjustices is absolutely critical. Wisconsinites deserve to know the full truth about this matter, and parties that are guilty of misconduct should explain their actions. Following the announcement by Capitol Police that the investigation will now be handled by Dane County Sheriff David Mahoney, MediaTrackers expressed concern over the sheriff's impartiality in the situation.

"After looking into Sheriff Mahoney's record, we have substantial reservations about his qualification to lead his department in a thorough and impartial investigation of this matter," stated Brian Sikma, Communications Director for Media Trackers. "Notwithstanding his long record of service to the public through law enforcement, the very politically charged nature of this particular investigation could prevent the public from resting full confidence in Sheriff Mahoney's abilities."

Citing a list of political activities, official actions, and unguarded public statements from Mahoney, Sikma concluded, "Sheriff David Mahoney’s partisan background and public statements raise questions about his ability to lead an impartial investigation. The sheriff should either explain why these items are not going to factor into any bias in the investigation, or recuse himself from the role altogether."

The following is a record of Dane County Sheriff David Mahoney's political, professional and public actions and statements that are cause for concern when it comes to his handling of a political charged Supreme Court matter:
In 2008, Sheriff David Mahoney appeared in television ad endorsing Wisconsin Supreme Court Chief Justice Shirley Abrahamson, a well known personal and political rival of Justice David Prosser. Mahoney also gave Abrahamson’s 2008 re-election campaign $100 dollars.

In 2008, Sheriff Mahoney helped create a program –later determined to be illegal – to give tax payer dollars to jail inmates to subsidize their bail. Attorney General J.B. Van Hollen said that the Sheriff’s office overstepped its authority with the program.

During the Budget Repair protests that occupied the Capitol, Mahoney refused to order Dane County Sheriff Deputies to enforce an order to keep the Capitol doors shut. Mahoney explained, “I refused to put deputy sheriffs in a position to be palace guards."

When touring the Capitol in during the occupation by pro-labor protesters in March, Mahoney was quoted in The Nation magazine as saying “I smile everyday at what I am seeing take place in this building."

When asked in an April 21, interview with liberal Madison talk-show host John “Sly” Sylvester about booing of the national anthem by counter-protesters at a Tea Party rally, Mahoney said “I’m quite confident that booing the national anthem never occurred.” But of course, the booing was caught on camera which makes it hard to deny.

From 2004-2006, Mahoney served as President of the Wisconsin Professional Police Association. As President of the state’s police union, Mahoney was quoted as saying it is a duty to “take care of those who take care of you,” and that “the job you save may be your own.” During Mahoney’s tenure as President, the WPPA endorsed Governor Jim Doyle for Governor and donated to eight Democratic campaigns and just three Republican campaigns.

Sheriff Mahoney was appointed to three separate commissions by Democrat Governor Jim Doyle between 2007 and 2008.

Without question, the appearance of Mahoney's impartiality exists.

He should recuse himself.

Charlie Sykes, Talk Show Hosts Donate to Walker

UPDATE, March 20, 2011: Dan Bice is obsessed with Charlie Sykes' political donations.

Pretty weird. He seems to be demanding that Sykes violated some policy, like Keith Olbermann did when he was with MSNBC.

Bice just can't seem to accept that Sykes didn't do anything wrong.

Very sad.

________________

NEWSFLASH!

Talk radio hosts made donations to Scott Walker's campaign!

I'm shocked! SHOCKED!

From Dan Bice, the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel:

Along with receiving $500 from Charlie Sykes, the first-term governor also got $150 from Jay Weber, who has a morning show on WISN-AM (1130), and $100 from John "Sly" Sylvester of WTDY-AM (1670) in Madison in 2009.

But wait - isn't Sly a liberal who has been appearing frequently at the Capitol protests against the first-term Republican governor?

Yep.

Sylvester said he was made the donation to Walker in an attempt to stick it to former U.S. Rep. Mark Neumann, Walker's primary opponent. Neumann ran against Sylvester's buddy, former U.S. Sen. Russ Feingold, in a tough 1998 campaign.

"If I could take that one back, I would," Sylvester said. "I was trying to create a little mischief."

Oh, that Sly! What a mischief-maker!

Dylan Brogan, Sylvester's producer said his boss has been "taken aback by Walker's extreme actions and expected him to be more like Tommy Thompson than Haley Barbour."

Brogan said Sylvester's employer, Midwest Family Broadcasting, has no rules against hosts giving campaign donations.

Good thing.

Since January 2008, Sylvester gave nearly $1,000 to state candidates - most of them Democrats. He chipped in another $500 to a Democratic candidate for U.S. Senate in Kentucky.

Sylvester said he has given some $6,000 to Feingold over the years.

Why is this news?

What is Bice trying to do? Get the anti-Walker, anti-taxpayer, anti-middle class, union supporters to add WTMJ and WISN to their boycott list?

I hope Bice, crack reporter, will publish the names and donations made by members of the media to Tom Barrett.

Hannity: Rebecca Kleefisch, Sly Sylvester

On Thursday, Wisconsin's Lt. Gov. Rebecca Kleefish was Sean Hannity's guest on his FOX News program.

They discussed WTDY radio host John "Sly" Sylvester's recent brutal personal attack on Kleefisch.

I'm glad Hannity put the incident in the spotlight and exposed Sylvester to a national audience.

Kleefisch has conducted herself with such dignity throughout this ugly episode. She's maintained her poise and continues to serve the people of Wisconsin.

Meanwhile, Sylvester is becoming nationally known as the epitome of uncivil political discourse. I suspect he's enjoying the notoriety, but I hope he's also experiencing some regret. If he has any conscience at all, he can't be comfortable being known for demeaning women and cancer patients.

I want to hear women on the Left condemn Sylvester's degradation of Kleefisch. Where are the women's organizations? Why aren't they coming to the defense of Kleefisch?

Here's video of the interview:

'Trash Talking' - Milwaukee Journal Sentinel

The Milwaukee Journal Sentinel Editorial Board has decided that linking contemporary politicians to Hitler is over the line.

That specific rhetoric is inappropriate - leave dead fascists out of the discussion.

Apparently, mocking an elected official's cancer, joking about possible side effects from her treatment, and making false and derogatory remarks about her sexual behavior is acceptable.

One might arrive at that conclusion given that the Journal Sentinel has refused to deal with a major controversy that has drawn the attention of the Republican Party of Wisconsin and the American Cancer Society.

In the aftermath of the tragic shootings in Tucson, Paul Krugman, the liberal columnist for The New York Times, wrote:

"Where's that toxic rhetoric coming from? Let's not make a false pretense of balance: It's coming, overwhelmingly, from the right."

Unlike Krugman, we haven't kept score. But we know this much: The trash talking has been coming from both sides. And both sides seem strangely enamored with Adolf Hitler.

Liberals have compared George W. Bush to Hitler, and later called tea partiers fascists. Conservatives have called Barack Obama a socialist and questioned his religion and birthplace. Glenn Beck, on his radio show, urged his listeners to read Hitler's book "Mein Kampf" in the context of a discussion about Obama and health care reform.

And a recent op-ed in The Capital Times of Madison, which also was published on a union website, made a connection between Gov. Scott Walker and fascists.

The authors, Mike Konopacki and Kathy Wilkes, argue that Walker's openness to "decertifying" state employee unions and the expected effort by Republican legislators to pass right-to-work legislation are reminiscent of moves by Hitler and Italian thug Benito Mussolini. A Konopacki cartoon depicted Walker decked out in a storm trooper outfit.

Konopacki and Wilkes defend their work. In an e-mail, Wilkes wrote: "Scott Walker is part of a national effort by the Republican Party to bust unions and demonize public workers. It's an old, worn out tactic based on a lie."

Wrote Konopacki: "I think we made our point clearly and humorously by ridiculing Walker as a petty economic dictator."

But linking Walker with Nazis is offensive and poisons the well of public discourse. This is persuasive how?

...Let's pledge to dig a little deeper into the rhetorical toolkit, past the knee-jerk comparisons to dead fascists, and make thoughtful arguments free of overwrought language. If those arguments are sound and persuasive, that should be enough.

I would like the Journal Sentinel to pledge to "dig a little deeper" and cover the story of Madison talk radio host "Sly" Sylvester mocking and degrading Wisconsin's Lt. Gov. Rebecca Kleefisch.

Good grief, the topic is political trash talking and overwrought language.

It's inexcusable for that story to be completely ignored by the Journal Sentinel. Comparisons to Hitler aren't the only examples of toxicity.

The newspaper is intentionally failing to inform the public of a significant story, the Left's disgraceful treatment of Kleefisch. Such silence is a display of tacit approval.

Selective outrage can be very revealing.

Silence can be toxic.

Rebecca Kleefisch and "Sly" Sylvester - WTDY

UPDATE, March 5, 2012: Sly Sylvester and Andrew Breitbart
________________

John "Sly" Sylvester, morning host on Madison's WTDY, isn't doing anything to advance the argument that vitriol is a product of the Right and liberals engage in more civil discourse than conservatives.

On Monday, Sylvester was ruthless in his attack on Wisconsin's Lt. Gov. Rebecca Kleefisch. He was jaw-droppingly cruel and offensive and insensitive.

From WKOW:

A representative of the republican party of Wisconsin called on a Madison radio host to issue an apology for his remarks about Lieutenant Governor Rebecca Kleefisch during a talk show segment.

Party executive director Mark Jefferson called remarks by WTDY morning host John "Sly" Sylvester "offensive."

During the Jan. 17 segment in which Sylvester criticized Kleefisch's cold-calling attempts to try to woo businesses from Illinois to Wisconsin, Sylvester mockingly impersonated Kleefisch and attributed sexual acts as the reason for her election. Sylvester made a later, additional sexual remark about Kleefisch as the on-air discussion turned to high speed trains.

Click here to listen to the comments from the talk show segment, provided by Milwaukee radio station WTMJ.

Sylvester's on-air segment also included references to Kleefisch's colon cancer, including discussion of whether Kleefisch uses a wig or has a poor hairstyle.

A statement from the American Cancer Society called the references "disrespectful" and said Sylvester made light of Kleefisch's fight with cancer "under the guise of political discourse."

WTDY program director Rex Charger defended Sylvester's remarks.

"It was obvious sarcasm and was not intended to be taken literally."

Sometimes an apology is in order. Without question, this is one of those times.

Rex Charger is using terrible judgment to defend Sylvester's hate speech.

Sylvester didn't just make fun of Kleefisch's battle with cancer. His horrible remarks may have hurt a lot of people who have personally battled the disease or have loved ones suffering from it. He's heartless, cruel beyond belief.

His statements were absolutely inexcusable and indefensible.

...Rep. Robin Vos (R-Rochester), who along with democratic lawmaker Marc Pocan called for more civil political discourse in a news release last week, said he would not condemn Sylvester's decision to include sexual remarks in Sylvester's on-air critique of Kleefisch's work.

"He has every right to do it. And the only thing that can happen is we use our free speech to say either we disagree, or we turn the channel."

What a hypocrite!

Vos calls for more civil discourse but he won't condemn Sylvester's vile remarks?

What a disgrace!

From WISN:

Kleefisch declined to talk but Former Republican Lt. Gov. Margaret Farrow blasted the comments.

"Is it chauvinism? I'm not sure. What's wrong with this man? I don't know," Farrow said. "It baffles me that he's on the air and that people continue to listen to that type of garbage."

I'm on the same page as Farrow.

Such trash does not belong on the air.

Sylvester's timing is priceless. Just when the Leftists have been pounding conservatives for their alleged lack of civility, he comes out with this.

Unbelievable.

Note reporter Tony Galli says that Lt. Gov. Kleefisch was trying to "steal" businesses from Illinois. "Steal"?

Do you detect just a bit of anti-Kleefisch, anti-Walker administration bias in Galli's reporting?

Transcript of excerpts from Sylvester's remarks about Rebecca Kleefisch

"SLY" SYLVESTER: How amateurish is it to have Rebecca Kleefisch, who, I don't know, she has some like little panty business in her basement or something, I don't know. She's hardly a, she's hardly an entrepreneur. You know what? You know how amateurish that is? Cold-calling?

(Using high-pitched voice, speaking as Kleefisch)

'Would you like to move to Wisconsin? Would you like to move CouponCabin to Wisconsin? I'm Rebecca Kleefisch. I performed fellatio on all the talk show hosts in Milwaukee. And they endorsed me and that's how I became lieutenant governor. And then I got colon cancer and I ran around the state to help people. Even though I have government health care, screw everyone else.'

...

CRYSTAL McKENZIE: You know, it looks like she's wearing a wig because I know she's going through chemotherapy right now, so she may be....

SYLVESTER: I don't think that. That is her TV... that's vapid hair.

McKENZIE: (Laughing) OK.

SYLVESTER: That's her vapid hair.

McKENZIE: (Laughing) I'll take your word for it.

...

SYLVESTER: I had heard at one point Rebecca Kleefisch pulled a train, but that must have been a different story I was reading about.

This is truly disgusting.

I'm glad the American Cancer Society released a statement condemning Sylvester.

“It is truly unfortunate that Mr. Sylvester saw fit to make light of Lt. Governor Kleefisch’s ongoing fight with cancer under the guise of political discourse.

“Cancer is not a partisan issue, but rather is a serious, potentially life-threatening disease that claims the lives of more than 11,000 Wisconsinites each year.

“The remarks made by Mr. Sylvester are inappropriate and offensive to all those who have been touched by cancer, no matter their political affiliation.”

Still waiting for NOW to do the same.

Those sexist remarks are terribly degrading. The woman heard on the portion of the audio available, WTDY news anchor Crystal McKenzie, just laughs when Sylvester spews his ugliness. What is wrong with her?

Civil discourse. Good grief.

One could say Sylvester's irresponsible, hateful speech might incite others to abuse people with cancer and demean women, if you buy the Left's manufactured crusade regarding the level of political discourse in the country.

In any event, there's nothing remotely civil about Sylvester's remarks.

This isn't a gray area. Sylvester should apologize. Promptly and profusely.

PRESS RELEASE: Sly in the Morning: My apology to Lt. Governor Kleefisch

Sly in the Morning
730 Rayovac Dr.
Madison, WI 53711
slysoffice.com

Today I sent a letter to Lt. Governor Rebecca Kleefisch apologizing for my inappropriate comments on Monday morning’s program.

Although I do not share Lt. Governor Kleefisch’s political philosophy, I know how difficult it is for women to compete in the political arena and to be recognized for their achievements.

I offer Lt. Governor. Kleefisch and her family my most sincere apology. I have tremendous respect for women who devote their time and careers to public service whether I share their views or not. I regret that my comments did not reflect that.

Sincerely,

John ‘Sly’ Sylvester
Talk Host
Sly in the Morning
1670 – WTDY AM

On his website, Sylvester writes:
In response to complaints over my language mocking Lt. Governor Rebecca Kleefisch, this podcast should put in perspective why I made the comments and in the light they were meant to be taken. I will be sending a letter to the Lt. Governor to explain my position and convey in a more civil tone my sincere feelings.

Listen to the WTDY radio segment.

Sylvester claims his remarks were a "metaphor."

Metaphor? That doesn't make sense.

He says he's apologizing for his comments, but he really doesn't. He acknowledges that maybe he was a little too crude and graphic in his sexual references about Kleefisch but he expresses pride in his "metaphor."

Crystal McKenzie defends Sylvester, saying that as a woman she took no offense whatsoever. She says she's "a bit of a rock chick" and "can handle talk like that." She goes on to say, "I thought tongue was firmly planted in cheek. I could hear that in your voice. You were being a smart ass."

That's pathetic.

Sylvester clings to this "metaphor" excuse and suggests that his remarks were taken out of context.

There's no taking what he said out of context. It's unacceptable and extremely offensive. Period.

So how do these Leftists define "civility"?

Are hateful remarks OK as long as one insists that tongue is firmly planted in cheek?

Give me a break.

UPDATE, January 21, 2011: David Blaska petitions the Federal Communications Commission to get WTDY's Sly Sylvester off the air.

Blaska writes:

Blaska's Blog has filed a formal complaint with the Federal Communications Commission against WTDY radio. My intent is to knock the Vile Radio Talker off the air.

It is Complaint 11-WB14678720.

I do not like Big Government. But the Vile Radio Talker does. Let him go up against the lawyers at FCC. Live by the sword ...

From the FCC:
It is a violation of federal law to air obscene programming at any time. It is also a violation of federal law to air indecent programming or profane language during certain hours. Congress has given the Federal Communications Commission (FCC) the responsibility for administratively enforcing these laws. The FCC may revoke a station license, impose a monetary forfeiture, or issue a warning if a station airs obscene, indecent, or profane material.

Read more about the law, definitions of "obscene, indecent, or profane material," broadcast restrictions, and enforcement procedures.

I think WTDY should be held accountable for its programming and the material it broadcasts.

Let the almighty federal government decide the proper course of action. Surely, Sylvester, a dyed-in-the-wool Leftist, wouldn't object to that.
