Oh, good grief.

We've known for a year that Robert Mueller has serious cognitive issues or he lied under oath. He's about as sharp as Joe Biden. The man was clueless when he testified last year. He was a disaster!

I was looking forward to Robert Mueller's testimony.

I expected Republicans to pose questions that would make Mueller uncomfortable.

I didn't expect Mueller to be incapable of answering the most basic questions about the "MUELLER Report."

He wasn't even able to correctly answer which president appointed him United States Attorney for the United States District Court for the District of Massachusetts.

Former Special Counsel Robert Mueller confused which president appointed him the United States Attorney for the District of Massachusetts back in the 1980s during his congressional appearance Wednesday.

Answering a question during a lengthy hearing before the House Judiciary Committee, Mueller said he thought President George H. W. Bush appointed him to the post in Massachusetts, but was quickly corrected by Rep. Greg Stanton, D-Ariz., who noted that Mueller was appointed by President Ronald Reagan in 1986.

Truly embarrassing.

No wonder Mueller didn't want to testify. He knew he wasn't up to it.

Sensenbrenner wants it both ways. He says he supports "securing our border with a physical barrier" but not via a presidential declaration.

He does have a history of objecting to executive orders.



Remember all those times Obama was blocked? I don't.

At least Sensenbrenner is consistent with his concerns about separation of powers.

Unfortunately, securing the border is less concerning to Sensenbrenner than objecting to the president's utilization of a power given to him by Congress.

That should concern Wisconsin voters.

The presidential campaign was rocked on Friday after federal law enforcement officials said that emails pertinent to the closed investigation into Hillary Clinton’s private email server were discovered on a computer belonging to Anthony D. Weiner, the estranged husband of a top Clinton aide.

In a letter to Congress, the F.B.I. director, James B. Comey, said the emails had surfaced in an unrelated case, which law enforcement officials said was an F.B.I. investigation into illicit text messages from Mr. Weiner to a 15-year-old girl in North Carolina. Mr. Weiner, a former Democratic congressman from New York, is married to Huma Abedin, the top aide.

Mr. Comey's letter said that the F.B.I. would review the emails to determine if they improperly contained classified information, which is tightly controlled by the government. Senior law enforcement officials said that it was unclear if any of the emails were from Mrs. Clinton’s private server. And while Mr. Comey said in his letter that the emails “appear to be pertinent,” the F.B.I. had not yet examined them.

By the end of a day that brought stinging criticism of Mr. Comey from both Democrats and Republicans, he appeared on the defensive, saying in an internal email to bureau employees that he had felt obligated to inform Congress, and “we don’t know the significance of this newly discovered collection of emails."

...A senior law enforcement official said that tens of thousands of emails belonging to Ms. Abedin were on Mr. Weiner’s laptop, which the F.B.I. had obtained as part of its investigation into Mr. Weiner. About a month ago, a person familiar with the investigation said, F.B.I. agents seized the laptop as well as Mr. Weiner’s iPad and cellphone.

Did Attorney General Eric Holder lie under oath?

Republican members of the House Judiciary Committee believe that Holder intentionally misled them.

Jim Sensenbrenner, Republican representative from Wisconsin, is calling for Eric Holder's resignation.

If Holder doesn't resign, Sensenbrenner thinks Obama should fire him.

The House Judiciary Committee is investigating whether Attorney General Eric Holder lied under oath during his May 15 testimony on the Justice Department’s (DOJ) surveillance of reporters.

The panel is looking at a statement Holder made during a back-and-forth with Rep. Hank Johnson (D-Ga.) about whether the DOJ could prosecute reporters under the Espionage Act of 1917, an aide close to the matter told The Hill.

“In regard to potential prosecution of the press for the disclosure of material — this is not something I’ve ever been involved in, heard of, or would think would be wise policy,” Holder said during the hearing.

However, NBC News reported the following week that Holder personally approved a search warrant that labeled Fox News chief Washington correspondent James Rosen a co-conspirator in a national security leaks case.

...Rep. James Sensenbrenner Jr. (Wis.), the second-ranking Judiciary Committee Republican, told The Hill that Holder should resign.

He accused the attorney general of misleading the panel during the investigation of the “Fast and Furious” gun-walking operation, and again when he claimed to not know about the AP probe.

“As we saw in Fast and Furious and are seeing now, Attorney General Holder refuses to hold himself accountable,” Sensenbrenner said. “He misled the Judiciary Committee under oath when he said he had not heard about Fast and Furious and he misled us again when he claimed to be unaware of the AP scandal. The head of DOJ should be someone the American people can trust. Attorney General Holder should resign.”

There's no way Holder would resign or Obama would pressure him to leave if criticism is coming only from Republicans.

However, it appears that Holder may be in trouble, given that the outcry now includes Leftist politicians and media outlets.

The Republican criticism of Attorney General Eric Holder and the Justice Department -- first, over the failed Fast and Furious gun-tracking operation and now, the subpoena of reporters’ phone and email records -- is growing to include outcry from liberal media outlets and Democrats.

“It seems to me clear that the actions of the department have in fact impaired the First Amendment,” Rep. Zoe Lofgren, D-Calif., said earlier this month. “Reporters who might have previously believed that a confidential source would speak to them would no longer have that level of confidence.”

The congresswoman has been joined in her concerns by Democratic commentators and the liberal-leaning Huffington Post, which recently ran a giant headline saying it’s time for Holder to go.

If the Leftists don't join forces with the Republicans on this one, then they are granting Obama and his team unbridled power to trample on our rights and acknowledging their complete lack of respect for the Constitution.

Michelle Obama's Butt

I'm sure Michelle Obama would be the first to admit that her "posterior" is large.

I think she looks great, though sometimes she does make poor wardrobe choices, ones that negatively accentuate the disproportionate size of her behind. Sometimes she hides it well, sometimes she doesn't.

Let's be honest - the physical appearance of any public figure is critiqued. She's a celebrity. She's going to be treated like one.

The Queen of England isn't spared. Why should Queen Michelle?

First ladies don't get a pass. They've all been slammed for the perceived inadequacies of their hair, their bodies, their clothes.

That's what makes the Washington Post article by Krissah Thompson so weird.

She admits other first ladies have suffered the public scrutiny about their looks, but suggests that in Michelle Obama's case, it's racially based.

The latest public rant against Michelle Obama’s effort to promote low-calorie school lunches was recently caught on tape in Alabama — the usual protest against the federal government meddling in local business. And then it quickly found its way around to the first lady’s posterior.

“Fat butt Michelle Obama,” said Bob Grisham, a high school football coach who was surreptitiously recorded by one of his students. “Look at her. She looks like she weighs 185 or 190. She’s overweight.”

Grisham, who was suspended Monday, is neither the first nor the most high-profile person to feel moved to comment on the first lady’s physique. Conservative radio host Rush Limbaugh has repeatedly called her Michelle “My Butt” Obama. And Rep. F. James Sensenbrenner, the Wisconsin Republican, issued an apology after he was caught commenting on her “large posterior.” (Grisham has also said he misspoke.)

Grisham was suspended?

Wow. The "public rant" wasn't all that public if it "was surreptitiously recorded by one of his students." It wasn't appropriate for a high school authority figure to make rude comments about Michelle Obama's weight, but suspension seems rather harsh, unless the school has a zero tolerance policy when it comes to commenting on others' physical appearance.

If Michelle Obama didn't lecture everyone in the country about our eating habits and shove her will on us, I think there would be less focus on her size.

Michelle Obama obviously is not the first first lady to be subjected to criticism for the way she looks. Hillary Clinton was accused of having “cankles” — slang for chubby ankles. One of her predecessors was immortalized in song by the group Mission of Burma: “I’m haunted by the freakish size of Nancy Reagan’s head /No way that thing came with that body.”

But what is it with Michelle Obama’s critics and the fixation with her derriere?

“We have a history in this country of white people not showing adequate respect for and devaluing the bodies of black women, and this most definitely falls in line with that,” says Ayana Byrd, the co-editor of the anthology “Naked: Black Women Bare All About Their Skin, Hair, Hips, Lips and Other Parts.” (Grisham, Limbaugh and Sensenbrenner are white men.)

...Her presence as first lady challenges the historic view of a black woman’s place and notions of beauty, says Michaela Angela Davis, a fashion expert who has campaigned for more positive images of black women in the media. “Michelle is black from a distance. She’s a real black girl,” Davis says. “A lot of people have tried to make diversity into this weird beige thing. Her presence is just really powerful to interject into the global consciousness.”

The first lady’s critics “are reacting to the culture in which they’ve grown up or they are using it as a code to racialize Michelle Obama and remind people that she’s black,” says Andra Gillespie, an associate professor of political science at Emory University. “It is unreasonable to expect a nearly 50-year-old woman to have the body of a 25-year-old. She looks great for her age.”

With all due respect, this is a load of crap.

The fact that Michelle Obama carries some extra weight in certain areas of her body and the fact that people comment on that reality have nothing to do with her race.

She's a very attractive woman, but not flawless.

Are we not allowed to speak the truth?

Certainly, making negative comments about how the first lady looks is impolite. In my opinion, apologies are in order when such comments are made in a public forum for public consumption. People should be held accountable for their remarks.

However, are we really to conclude that Wisconsin's Jim Sensenbrenner was using "code to racialize Michelle Obama and remind people that she’s black"?

That's just idiotic.

Jim Sensenbrenner, Hip Surgery

Jim Sensenbrenner was injured on Saturday.

Yesterday, while greeting constituents at a community event in Butler, WI, he caught his foot on wires, tripped, and fell. He sustained two bone fractures, one near his elbow, and another at the hip socket. According to his surgeon, the Congressman is doing very well and is resting comfortably at Froedtert Hospital in Wauwatosa, WI. As a result, Congressman and Cheryl Sensenbrenner will be unable to attend the Republican National Convention in Tampa. He will now embark on recovery and looks forward to returning to his congressional duties as soon as possible."

Sensenbrenner is former Chair of the House Judiciary Committee and he represents the Fifth Congressional District of Wisconsin.

Sensenbrenner: 'Obama's Policies Hurt New Grads'

Getting a degree is a tremendous accomplishment. It's something to celebrate.

Unfortunately, the celebration will end and graduates will be left to deal with the reality of the Obama economy.

Obama's policies hurt new grads
By Jim Sensenbrenner

This weekend, Wisconsinites across the state will graduate from college, an achievement for which each student should be extremely proud. But as a result of the slowest recovery since the Great Depression, recent college grads are some of the Americans hardest hit by President Barack Obama's failed economic policies.

After three years of Obama's leadership, employers are skittish to hire with the threat of the largest tax hike in history looming on Jan. 1, the uncertainty of runaway deficit spending and a health care law that discourages job creation.

For example, according to a U.S. Chamber of Commerce survey conducted in January, 74% of small businesses said that the health care law makes it more difficult for them to hire and 30% are not planning to hire at all due to the law. Additionally, employers face more costly regulations that take away precious resources. Since the president took office, economically significant regulations - those expected to have an impact of $100 million or greater on the economy - have increased by 52%.

For the second straight month, job creation slowed nationwide. In April, the United States created a meager 115,000 jobs, half of what is needed for a healthy recovery.

As a result, Americans 25 and younger face a more difficult job market. The Associated Press reported that one-half of new college graduates are unemployed or underemployed. According to a recent Gallup poll, the underemployment rate for those ages 18 to 29 is double that of older age groups. This means Americans graduating today, if they can find a job at all, are more likely to have to take a job outside of their field, often at lower pay, to make ends meet.

Graduates who face a difficult job market still must begin paying back their student loans. Congress is debating how to keep student loan rates from increasing this summer, an effort that I supported in the House.

Reduced interest rates on some college loans are scheduled to double from 3.4% to 6.8%. On average, keeping the student loan rate at 3.4% would save an individual $1,000 over the 10-year repayment period for a qualifying graduate.

I continue to support efforts to keep the student rates low, but the president has used the student loan issue as a campaign stump speech to distract the nation from his failed economic record. While he chooses to politicize the frustration of college graduates, House Republicans are determined to focus on job creation and ensure that the Class of 2012 will have the opportunity to succeed.

In an effort to extend the student loan rates, the Democratic-controlled Senate attempted to politicize this issue and pay for the cost with higher taxes on small businesses. The Senate version of the bill would inflict a tax hike on some small businesses and entrepreneurs, filed as an S corporation. Small businesses created two-thirds of the net new jobs in this country over the past 10 years, and taxing them at a higher rate would only hamper their ability to hire more workers.

Following the Obama economic formula to increase taxes and expand the federal government will leave more bright, young Americans unemployed or underemployed, shackled with unprecedented student debt and no way to repay their loans.

The president should work with House Republicans to keep the loan rate low and pass legislation that will reduce the barriers to growing jobs, not put up more roadblocks for job creators. The most important thing Congress can do for the Class of 2012 is to reverse the tax, spend and borrow policies of the past three years and get out of the way of job creators.

We can do better to restore the American promise for our newest members of the workforce.

Don't be discouraged in your job search.

Don't vote for Obama. You'll be glad you didn't.

Cardinal Dolan and Scott Walker - Holy Hill Mass (Video)

At Cardinal Dolan's Mass of Thanksgiving at Holy Hill yesterday, Cardinal Dolan recognized some individuals during his homily, including politicians.

Governor Scott Walker and his wife, Tonette, Rep. Jim Sensenbrenner, Rep. Paul Ryan, Tommy Thompson, and Milwaukee County Sheriff David Clarke were in attendance, and named by Cardinal Dolan.

He said, "Distinguished civic leaders - did you see the great array of civic leaders who we have? I'm so honored to welcome you and salute you as true friends."

When Cardinal Dolan welcomed Gov. Walker, the congregation burst into robust and lengthy applause and cheers.

The others received applause as well, but the applause for Gov. Walker definitely seemed to be a statement of support. It must have been comforting to Gov. Walker to be embraced so warmly.

After the applause for our governor subsided, Cardinal Dolan joked, "Governor, take heart. I got recalled back here from Archbishop Listecki."

Question: Why wasn't Tom Barrett, mayor of Milwaukee, at Mass? Other than David Clarke, who's really more of a conservative, there were no Democrat politicians. Why?

I know Barrett, as mayor, met with Cardinal Dolan when he was the Archbishop of Milwaukee. Why would Catholic Barrett not be at Mass to welcome back the beloved Cardinal Dolan?

No Democrats from the Archdiocese of Milwaukee?

Their absence was remarkable.

Barrett, a Catholic, apparently determined that attending the Mass would not be in his political interest.

I can't imagine what would have been on Barrett's schedule that kept him from Holy Hill yesterday.

As usual, Cardinal Dolan's homily was uplifting. It's theme was Jesus as the Good Shepherd. He displayed sincere humility and, of course, his sense of humor.

We, in Wisconsin, were so blessed to have Cardinal Dolan as our shepherd for seven years. He truly is a man of God.

JIMMY FALLON: Speaking of Michelle Obama, a Wisconsin congressman is facing criticism after saying that Michelle has, quote, a large posterior; though Michelle took it as a compliment when she heard the guy's name: Congressman Mix-A-Lot.

I saw the story about Jim Sensenbrenner's comments regarding Michelle Obama telling Americans what they should and should not eat on Drudge yesterday.

I bookmarked it for later, considering weighing in on Sensenbrenner's alleged remarks about Michelle Obama having a "large posterior."

I checked the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel's website, wondering if the story was mentioned. It wasn't. That surprised me, but I was pleased that Sensenbrenner's remarks weren't being splashed as big news.

Given the fact that it's just days before Christmas and, believe it or not, the holiday celebration doesn't just come together magically, I decided to spend my time on preparations rather than commenting online.

For me, this is a holy season. Yes, holy. I celebrate the birth of Jesus.

The bickering and sniping of politics gets in the way of that.

"Glory to God in the highest
and on earth peace to those on whom his favor rests."

However, now that the Journal Sentinel's "investigative reporter" Dan Bice writes about a "witness" to Sensenbrenner commenting on Michelle Obama's posterior, and the story is receiving such odd attention and being blown out of proportion, becoming "big news," I think some perspective is in order.

First, the story-

Jim Sensenbrenner (R-Wisc.), known for his cantankerous ways and for not speaking to media unless it’s his idea, was overheard at the Delta Crown lounge at Reagan National Airport today talking on his cellphone about an incident he said occurred three weeks ago while at an Episcopal church auction. Please note, a church auction.

Our source, a Democratic operative who heard the whole thing, said he was “very loud”. Sensenbrenner was overheard saying that after buying all their “crap” (his word) a woman approached him and praised first lady Michelle Obama. He told the woman that Michelle should practice what she preaches — “she lectures us on eating right while she has a large posterior herself.”

Ann Marsh-Meigs has never been a big fan of U.S. Rep. Jim Sensenbrenner (R-Wis.).

But even Marsh-Meigs, a 72-year-old retiree, was shocked to hear the jowly congressman make a snarky remark about first lady Michelle Obama's "big butt" to a group of church members during a recent Christmas bazaar at St. Aidan's Episcopalian Church in Hartford.

While chatting with five St. Aidan's parishioners on Dec. 10, Sensenbrenner took several swipes at the first lady, Marsh-Meigs said. In one, she said, the congressman claimed Michelle Obama left a recent charitable event when the media did, though Sensenbrenner's handicapped wife continued to work it.

"He then talked about how different first ladies have had different projects - Laura Bush and literacy - and he named two or three others," Marsh-Meigs said in an interview last week. "And then he said, 'And Michelle Obama, her project is obesity. And look at her big butt.'

"That's basically what he said," she continued. "It was a combination of her work on obesity and her shape."

The remark stunned the group, according to Marsh-Meigs, who was the only woman at the table where the conversation occurred.

"I was sitting next to him, and I felt he should be called on it,'" she continued. "I just said, 'I just happen to think Michelle Obama is a beautiful and elegant lady, and I think she dresses beautifully.' And then he said, 'Oh, well, I think she's elegant, too.' He just started back-pedaling.'

Without question, Sensenbrenner was wrong to make a negative remark about the first lady's physical appearance.

It was an inappropriate thing to say.

His point about Michelle Obama telling Americans what to eat and using the power of the White House to pressure private businesses to make marketing decisions that suit her agenda is valid.

Maybe it wouldn't bug me that Sensenbrenner's remarks are being covered by the Wisconsin media, Leftists, if there were some balance in terms of how offensive statements are covered in general.

In short, Democrats get a pass. Sensenbrenner is being tarred and feathered, but the Dems aren't held accountable for their incivility by the mainstream media.

Again, Sensenbrenner made a boorish comment. Pointing out the size of the first lady's posterior was wrong to do. No doubt about it. He's going to apologize to Michelle Obama. An apology is in order. He should not have made that remark.

Meanwhile, you have elected officials, Democrats, routinely spewing ugly remarks about Republicans.

Those cases are ignored.

Double standard.

Business as usual.

I wonder if Ann Marsh-Meigs would have been offended if she heard an elected Democrat make a negative comment about Laura Bush or Tonette Walker.

Would she call the official on the inappropriateness of his or her remark if it had been directed at a political opponent?

I hope Marsh-Meigs' dislike for Sensenbrenner and his politics didn't prompt her decision to criticize him.

UPDATE: Sensenbrenner apologizes to first lady over "big butt" remark

U.S. Rep. Jim Sensenbrenner (R-Wis.) has written a formal apology to first lady Michelle Obama for disparaging her appearance during a recent chat at a Hartford church.

“I regret my inappropriate comment and I have sent a personal note to the First Lady apologizing," Sensenbrenner said in a statement today. His office declined to release the letter.

The thugs at the town hall meeting in Wauwatosa with Congressman Jim Sensenbrenner and State Representative Leah Vukmir on March 7, 2011, chanted, "This is what democracy looks like."

They raised their voices in that chant after they had prevented Sensenbrenner and Vukmir from conducting the meeting, heckling them and shouting them down. The Leftist mob succeeded in shutting down the event.

That's NOT at all what democracy looks like.

Sensenbrenner’s District: Highest Turnout in U.S.

The enthusiasm shown by Wisconsin voters in the midterm elections is understandable.

We endured 8 horrific years of Jim Doyle as governor and 18 nightmarish years of Russ Feingold in the U.S. Senate.

When Feingold parted with Obama it was when Obama didn't lurch far enough to the Left for Feingold.

It looks as though Jim Sensenbrenner’s congressional district had the highest turnout rate in the nation in 2010, based on unofficial election results.

That should not come as a major shock, since Sensenbrenner’s constituents routinely turn out in greater numbers than those of almost any House district in America.

Tammy Baldwin’s district wasn’t far behind.

In fact, Sensenbrenner got more votes last Tuesday than any U.S. House candidate in the country: nearly 230,000.

And Baldwin got more votes than any Democratic House candidate in the country: about 190,000.

The midterm elections were historic. Americans were determined to change the course of the country via the ballot box.

Although liberal Democrat Tammy Baldwin's district came out in large numbers, it wasn't able to offset Wisconsin's 5th Congressional District powerhouse.

The fact that Sensenbrenner's district (unofficially) had the highest turnout in the country shows just how energized Wisconsin voters were to bring about significant change. They overwhelmingly voted to elect Scott Walker as governor and Ron Johnson as U.S. senator.

Sensenbrenner's seat was safe. He was guaranteed to return to Congress. For his constituents, the election wasn't about him. It was about avoiding a disastrous Jim Doyle third term with Tom Barrett and firing Russ Feingold. It was also about taking back state government.

Wisconsin's 5th Congressional District will be a force in the 2012 election. Those voters are poised to vote for change in the White House.

Sensenbrenner's district could lead the nation in ending the Obama era.

To quote Feingold, "Forward!"
