On this Thursday's edition in the opening skit, Will Ferrell returned to SNL to reprise his role as President George W. Bush.
When discussing Election 2008, he referred to the "hot lady" and the "Tiger Woods guy."
Once again, Tina Fey played Sarah Palin and Darrell Hammond played John McCain.
The skit's message: John McCain as president would be Bush's 3rd term.
Let's look at how fair and balanced the half hour program was.
Negative jokes specifically about the Democrats:
None about Barack Obama.
None about Joe Biden. Not a word about Biden. That's comedy malpractice.
One joke mocking Bill Clinton and jobs.
Negative jokes about the Republicans:
Jokes at the expense of John McCain.
Jokes at the expense of Sarah Palin.
Jokes at the expense of George W. Bush.
Once again, all those many supposedly not Left-leaning writers working for Saturday Night Live didn't contribute any material that put Obama and Biden in a negative light. Zero.

Goes to show ya: Alot of funny, smart people working at SNL! You had to know they'd come back kicking after having to play nice with Sarah on Saturday. When Tina walked past Sarah she wore the same expression Sarah did when asked in the debate if she would support equal rights for gays.
SNL should thank Sarah Palin for delivering the best ratings the show has seen in 14 years.
Another thing, I wouldn't criticize Palin on equal rights.

Wow, you take SNL as an example of how left leaning the media is? I guess you dont realize, SNL is not news. It's a stupid example. It's like someone complaining the media is too right leaning and using Fox News as an example.
Both are there purely for entertainment purposes, and neither should be obligated to stay in the middle.

As for Obama-Biden opposing gay marriage, Joe Biden explained that one very succintly in the debate: They feel gay marriage is something that such be left to your church to decide on. But they are both completely for equal civil rights for gay couples. Something that Palin is not - she danced clear around the direct question put to her on this in the debate (as with others).
I for one can't wait until Nov 4 when she rides off into the Alaskan sunset.

On marriage, Obama has said same-sex couples should be able to enter into civil unions with all the legal benefits of marriage, but he believes "marriage" should refer to the union of a man and a woman.
McCain believes gay marriage is an issue best left up to the states. While in the Senate, McCain voted "No" on a constitutional ban of same-sex marriage.
Exactly Mary. That's exactly what I said about Obama-Biden. But what you wrote doesn't really say anything about where McCain stands on equal rights for gay couples. Where does he stand? His running mate is against equal rights. Is he as well?

You know that Sarah Palin never said that. It was Tina Fey, mocking 17-year-old Bristol Palin.

Sarah Palin is really tough. I don't think I would have appeared on a show that joked about my husband having an incestuous relationship with our children.
Actually, SNL wasn't mocking Bristol, they were mocking Sarah Palin for supporting abstinience only sex "ed" even though research shows it's ineffective and it certainly didn't work in her own family: Her 17 year old is preggers and she herself was pregant when she and Todd eloped. At least they had finished high school and had some life experience though.

The target of the incest "joke" was supposedly just the NYT. I think that was just cover to be unbelievably cruel.

Furthermore, the Left distorts Palin's views about abstinence-only sex ed.
In a 2006 debate, Palin clarified her response in a questionnaire where she stated that she opposed "explicit" sex-ed programs. She is NOT for abstinence only sex-ed.
Palin said: "No, I am pro-contraception, and I think kids who may not hear about it at home should hear about it in other avenues. So I'm not anti-contraception. But yeah, abstinence is another alternative that should be discussed with kids. I don't have a problem with that."

of course snl was referring to bristol and Levi( the two unwilling teenagers)! But they were mocking Sarah.
Nice fancy pageant walking around that response on abstinence only, but the fact is that she supports abstinence only education rather than comprehensive sex ed. And like I said, pretty hypocritical for a women who didn't wait for marriage herself (who does?) and irresponsible for someone whose own daughter now has to suffer the consequences of unprotected teenage hooky.
