Former President Barack Obama starts listing out the things he disagreed with Charlie Kirk on before pointing blame at the Trump White House for political division.

Boston Tea Party takes place
— James Woods (@RealJamesWoods) December 16, 2023
On this day in history, December 16, 1773, the Boston Tea Party takes place when a group of angry patriots dump the tea from three ships into Boston Harbor to protest Parliament's tax on tea. In 1767 the Townshend Acts placed a tax on tea and other…

McConnell's Fault
Mitch is telling the media he's furious and done with Trump. Really? Well, I'm furious and done with McConnell. Without Trump supporters, McConnell has NOTHING. McConnell wants to eliminate Trump and the MAGA movement just as he did with the Tea Party. He attacks what he sees as a threat to his power and his control over the party. President Trump leaves office in one week. Impeaching him makes of a complete mockery of our system and the process. Any Republican member of Congress throwing in with the Democrats on this stunt will not go over well with the 74-75 million Trump voters. We've seen the future of the Republican party and it does not include Swamp dwellers and Establishment snobs like McConnell. They've been marginalized by the new Republicans of the Trump era, the forgotten men and women of America. McConnell, Liz Cheney, and their Swamp cohorts would prefer to do Pelosi's bidding and be praised by the Democrat media, anything to make those new Trump Republicans go away. Huge miscalculation. Trump Republicans are not going away. The people have the power.McCarthy and House Republicans held 27 of 27 toss-up states and gained a net of 12 seats.

Maybe McConnell, who decided to nix stimulus checks for Americans in favor of millions for “gender programs” for Pakistanis, should take a look in the mirror. https://t.co/vpcPDSsy1m

Greg Gutfeld: Remembering Andrew Breitbart
Marking the fifth anniversary of Andrew Breitbart's death, Greg Gutfeld wrote a piece explaining and honoring his friend.
I keep Andrew's quotation from his CPAC 2012 speech permanently posted on the sidebar of this blog.
"Everything has changed, everything has changed in the last few years. Conservatives used to take it and we're not taking it anymore."I loved watching him on Red Eye and enjoyed his other appearances. He was a warrior, but he was fun. I just found him so likable.
It bothers me that many on the Left and the Right have turned the name "Breitbart" into a synonym for racism, hate, intolerance, and overall idiocy. They say it with a sneer. They consider "Breitbart" synonymous with crap. It's offensive. In discussions, whenever someone degrades "Breitbart," I always remind them to think about Andrew Breitbart and note that distinction.
Read Gutfeld's piece on Breitbart.
Excerpts:
Say what you will about how A.B. felt about Trump's politics, but Andrew predicted this new kind of Republican. His most famous quote? “Politics is downstream from culture.” Meaning, to win in politics, you have to win the culture. Trump is the first Republican to exemplify this equation. Born and bred in the restless impatience of modern culture and eschewing the stuffy moralism of conservative ideology and the politically correct paralysis of the left, he fulfilled what Andrew saw coming: a path free from the tricks played upon the right for so long. Sure, Trump was rude, offensive and sloppy — but so was America. And like America, he was tired of the PC BS.Yes.
Andrew was Trump before Trump. Wherever Andrew spoke, crowds formed. He could talk for hours on just about anything. He fell in love with the masses who were looking for a new direction. Sound familiar?
There are disagreements over where Andrew might have stood on Trump, but I know he would have relished the implosion of pernicious tribal politics. Andrew was a conservative, but he hated litmus tests and ideas tethered to precious books. He just wanted to expose the lie of leftism. Trump wouldn't have found his footing in such ground if Andrew hadn’t begun sowing that turf a decade before.
Where would Andrew stand on the internal conflicts among Republicans over Trump? Would it matter that The Donald was neither ideological nor predictably conservative? Would Andrew be suspicious of Trump’s autocratic outbursts, impulsiveness and disdain for critics? Or would he embrace Trump not just as a natural ally, but as the first real candidate in a post-ideological world? I don't know, but he'd be enjoying every minute of it.
...Before Andrew, the right settled for being out of step and outraged. We were offended by a changing culture instead of figuring out how to own it, and we took on the demeanor of the picked-upon nerd, screaming "it's not fair" to the liberal media that constantly degraded conservatives.
Andrew changed that. His goal wasn't simply to make conservatism cool (trying to do that, in itself, is not cool), but to expose how uncool the other side was.
...So, what about now … 2017, the era of Trump? I think Andrew would have found him vastly entertaining, while being cognizant of his impulsiveness. He would struggle with Trump the way so many of us have. But, ultimately, he would see Trump as darkly humorous, important and preferable to the Democratic alternative. At least Trump is real, and more vital. At least Trump has finally opened the door to fight back against those who, for decades, reveled in attacking us.
...The beauty of 2016 is that nothing that used to work for the left works anymore. It's done. The name-calling, the smearing — now, our collective response to such attacks, borrowed from Andrew's own arsenal of rebuttals, is, "So?"
Thank you, Greg Gutfeld.
I understand why Greg comes to the conclusions he does regarding Andrew's probable view of politics today because Andrew said it himself on February 10, 2012.
ANDREW BREITBART: You want a unity speech? I'll give you a unity speech. I don't care who our candidate is, and I haven't since the beginning of this. I haven't.
Ask not what the candidate can do for you, ask what you can do for the candidate. And that's what the Tea Party is. We are there to confront them on behalf of our candidate.
I will march behind whoever our candidate is because if we don't we lose.
There are two paths, there are two paths. One is America, and the other one is Occupy. One is America, the other one is Occupy. And I don't care, along the way, along the way, along the way - and I'm not a candidate, I'm never going to be a candidate. I'm just a goofball from Los Angeles who wears goofy shoes; promised people I would shave, didn't; promised to take a shower, I got too caught up talking to everybody.
And here I am, kind of a mess, but kind of excited to be here, because over the last three years I've realized that the Republican Party and the Conservative movement is not what ABC and CBS puts on the screen. They try to portray you in the worst possible light.
And when I walk through CPAC, or a I travel the United States to meet people in the Tea Party who care, black, white, gay, and straight, anyone that's willing to stand next to me to fight the progressive Left, I will be in that bunker. And if you're not in that bunker because you're not satisfied with this candidate, more than shame on you. You're on the other side.
Breitbart rallied people to take on the progressive Left. He urged people not to accept the Leftist media calling them racist and degrading them. He demanded the Leftist media be held accountable. He promised to do it and encouraged everyone to do it.
ANDREW BREITBART: We're watching you to play the race card, MSNBC...call everyone who's Caucasian a racist.... No more. 'He's a racist.' That's a dog whistle.... No more.
We're going to go after you. I bought a dog whistle. I bought a dog whistle factory and I'm giving you dog whistles. And we're going to listen to every word that comes out of your mouth, and we're going to hold you to the same standard that you hold us, which is an impossible one. And you're going to have a hell of a time in 2012 because America has finally awakened to your Saul Alinsky bullshit tactics. And we're coming to get you.
"Everything has changed, everything has changed in the last few years. Conservatives used to take it and we're not taking it anymore."
Thank you, thank you, Andrew Breitbart.

Mohammad Youssuf Abdulazeez
Here's the face of the enemy:

Mohammad Youssuf Abdulazeez
Abdulazeez is dead.
Inexcusably, before he was killed, he took the lives of four Marines.
The Marines were defenseless, unarmed.
That policy has to change.
From the New York Times:
He played whiffle ball in a suburban neighborhood of swim meets and gently sloping lawns. He was a young man who was polite, who sometimes drove too fast, who was arrested on a drunken-driving charge. He was a hardened mixed-martial arts fighter who kept a blog where he mused about submitting to Allah.Well. He certainly showed signs of extremism on Thursday.
And on Thursday, the authorities say that Mohammod Youssuf Abdulazeez, 24, killed four Marines and wounded at least three other people. He himself died in what the United States attorney here called a potential act of “domestic terrorism.”
According to a federal official, Mr. Abdulazeez was a Kuwaiti-born Jordanian who became a naturalized United States citizen. According to The Chattanooga Times Free Press, he graduated from Red Bank High School, whose quotation on his graduation yearbook page was: “My name causes national security alerts. What does yours do?”
His neighbors here in Hixson, the suburb of Chattanooga where he grew up, said that he seemed to have been an all-American boy, handsome and polite, normally in a T-shirt and jeans.
...A résumé that Mr. Abdulazeez posted on the Internet shows that he received an engineering degree from the University of Tennessee-Chattanooga in 2012 and interned with the Tennessee Valley Authority, learning to manage electrical power systems.
...Mr. Abdulazeez maintained a blog where he posted about Islam, according to the SITE Intelligence Group, which tracks international terrorist groups. A July 13 post stated that “life is short and bitter” and that Muslims should not let “the opportunity to submit to Allah ... pass you by.”
Photographs posted on family Facebook pages show the once-clean-cut student recently grew a beard. A Hamilton County jail booking report posted on Chattanoogan.com shows that he was arrested on a charge of driving under the influence, a first offense.
In the last two or three months, Mr. Abdulazeez had begun showing up rather regularly at Friday Prayer at the Islamic Society of Greater Chattanooga, a large mosque and cultural center, said Dr. Azhar S. Sheikh, a founding member of the center’s board.
Dr. Sheikh said that he showed no signs of extremism.
The Leftists don't know what to do with Abdulazeez. They can't blame the Tea Party. Dare they admit the religion of peace can foster radicals? This is messy.
I fear that we're becoming desensitized to these killings.
"Oh, four Marines were killed by a radicalized Islamic nut. Very sad. Let's move on. Hey, did Caitlyn Jenner say anything interesting today? So glad the war on the Confederate flag is being won."
That's an unacceptable reaction.
We have to allow Marines to be armed. Clearly, they're like sitting ducks.
We can't be afraid to identify our enemies.
I guess giving Iran nukes wasn't enough to convince Abdulazeez to like America.
Neighbors say Abdulazeez seemed like an all-American boy.
"Seemed" is the operative word.
Abdulazeez was a terrorist and he carried out an attack on our military.
An "all-American boy" does NOT target our military and kill four Marines.

Obama and Economic Shutdown
Retweet if you agree it's time to #EndThisNow before our country faces an economic shutdown.
— Barack Obama (@BarackObama) October 16, 2013
The country has been in a state of economic shutdown since Obama took over.
The Tea Party and the Republicans didn't increase the debt by 57 PERCENT. Obama did that.
When Mr. Obama became president in January 2009, the total federal debt stood at $10.6 trillion. This week, it hit $16.7 trillion — an increase of 57 percent. In the same time frame under President George W. Bush, total federal debt rose 38 percent. Under President Clinton, it rose 32 percent. The Tea Party isn't responsible for nearly all of the new jobs created since Obama took office being part-time. The buck stops with Obama.
Since January 2009 the country has added a net total of 270,000 full-time jobs, but it has added 1.9 million part-time jobs, according to the House Ways and Means Committee.Bottom line: Obama and the Democrats and the fools who voted for them are responsible for the economic shutdown we've been suffering for YEARS.
The numbers come as Republicans argue that the president’s health care law is pushing businesses to save money and push workers into shorter schedules to avoid the penalties that come from hiring more full-time workers, who under the law will be required to be covered with health care insurance.
Yes, END THIS NOW.
This is unacceptable. Tell Tea Party Republicans to stop holding our economy hostage: http://t.co/y8fPF8s3bG
— Barack Obama (@BarackObama) October 16, 2013
Obama is holding us hostage.
END THIS NOW.

Obama: Tweet #EndThisNow
Obama is engaging in a Twitter assault on Republicans today - #EndThisNow.

This is the profile picture for Barack Obama's Twitter account. He's promoting the end of the partial government shutdown by decimating Republicans, but it could be interpreted as his call to destory the United States as we once knew it. It's a very odd image to use, but fitting.
This is serious. Add your voice and tell Congress to #EndThisNow: http://t.co/PC9toDliKi

Here's an email from Team Obama's campaign site, Organizing For Action:

Mary --Clicking on "Tweet Now" sent me directly to MY Twitter account, with this Tweet ready to send:
Today, we're entering week three of the government shutdown.
And, in two days, we'll be facing a full economic shutdown if Congress fails to pay our bills, sending the country into default.
A lot of Americans are outraged -- and they should be. That's why today, we're asking folks to do at least one thing to speak out.
If you're on Twitter, we're using the hashtag #EndThisNow -- tweet right now and tell Speaker Boehner to reopen the government, pay our bills, and get back to work.
You don't have to stop there -- we put together a tool so you can keep tweeting to put the pressure on. If you're struggling to put together the perfect tweet, we've got you covered with a number of ideas.
I'll be honest: I don't know what it'll take to finally get John Boehner to stand up to the Tea Party Republicans and do the right thing.
But I know that with every day that goes by -- 15 days and counting -- more and more Americans are feeling the effects of the shutdown. Economists say defaulting on our debt could send us back into a recession and destroy the hard-earned progress we've made over the past five years.
The frustration Americans are feeling is turning into exasperation and outrage -- our lawmakers in Washington need to see it. This isn't a game.
Tweet now, and keep tweeting to tell John Boehner and the Tea Party Republicans to #EndThisNow:

Hey @SpeakerBoehner: Stop the shutdown, pay the bills, and get back to the real work Americans sent you there to do. #EndThisNowWhat could be easier? Get #EndThisNow to be a trending topic.
I agree with Obama. This is serious. However, we have a different perspective in terms of responsible parties.
Obama could "END THIS NOW" if he would be reasonable and work for a solution.
He's no John Kennedy. He doesn't know how to negotiate. The Cuban Missile Crisis serves as an example.
Aside from the possibility that some of Kennedy's actions may have encouraged or allowed Khrushchev to come to the decision to place nuclear missiles in Cuba in the first place, his conduct of decision making during the missile crisis was exemplary. Kenneday emphasized flexibility in the negotiations through such means as controlling the escalation of the crisis so that both sides had several options. He was careful not to act precipitously--despite the advice to attack immediately, Kennedy resisted the temptation to strike out at Castro and Khrushchev. His Executive Committee was designed to prevent one or two-strong-willed individuals from dominating the discussion and formulation of recommendations to the President. Kennedy ensured that all options, favored and unfavored, were thoughtfully scrutinized. He was careful not to back Khrushchev into a corner with no face-saving options. He insisted on negotiation rather than unilateral action."Negotiation rather than unilateral action."
"Face-saving options."
The fact is Obama doesn't want to accept any deals. That's clear. He wants to back his opponents into a corner.
The president of the United States wants to kill Republicans. If the country suffers, that's just unfortunate collateral damage in his game.
Obama is a terrible president and not a very good person.

Leno: Government Shutdown Jokes, October 10, 2013
Jay Leno really bashed the Republicans in his monologue on Thursday. Maybe it was because Chris Matthews was his guest and Leno decided to play to MSNBC fans.
If that's the case, that's not too bright. MSNBC's ratings are abysmal. What may have played well in the studio probably didn't play well in the heartland.
JAY LENO: The Nobel prize for chemistry was announced this week. It was awarded to Sen. Ted Cruz for mixing up that batch of Kool-Aid the Republicans seem to be drinking on Capitol Hill. So, there you go. So, congratulations.By the way, the Chris Matthews segment was awful. Suddenly, Matthews thinks of Ronald Reagan as a hero.
Did you see this today? Talking to reporters today about the shutdown, John Boehner said, 'If ands or buts were candy and nuts, everyday would be Christmas.' You know, if they'd get off their butts and quit squeezing our nuts, we could enjoy Christmas. OK? How 'bout that?
As for negotiating with the president, John Boehner said, 'I don't want to put anything on the table. I don't want to take anything off the table.' Of course not, like most congressman, they like to do business under the table.
Georgia Republican Congressman Phil Gingrey, I think that's his name, he said it's time for his party to have a 'Braveheart moment' for the American people. Really? A 'Braveheart moment'? This whole government shutdown feels like another Mel Gibson movie - Ransom.
This is unbelievable. Congress has an approval rating of 5 percent. Is that still technically an approval rating? Isn't that really a 95 percent disapproval rating? That's not an approval rating anymore.
Reagan was vilified by Leftists like Matthews, but that's not stopping him from trying to rewrite history.
Both Matthews and Leno trashed the Tea Party.
Matthews did suggest that Obama should be talking with Republicans and building relationships with them, saying that Reagan and Tip O'Neill socialized, celebrating birthdays and St. Patrick's Day together, etc.

Joe Gow, UW-La Crosse Chancellor, Apologizes
Rachel Slocum, the Leftist assistant GEOGRAPHY professor at the University of Wisconsin - La Crosse, does not have the support of Chancellor Joe Gow.
In an extremely partisan and unprofessional email to her class, she slammed the Republicans and the Tea Party for preventing her students from accessing government websites, thereby delaying their ability to complete assignments.
Gow issued an apology for Slocum's behavior.
Media Trackers first reported on the story a week ago, and now presents Gow's apology, "an email sent to the UW La Crosse community."
Gow’s apology is the first from any campus representative — including Slocum.Gow writes that Slocum's actions constitute a "highly unusual situation."
Slocum was asked to apologize for her first email. She responded instead with a larger description of the shutdown, admonishing students for forwarding emails to “conservative blogs.”
Chancellor Gow wrote:
As you may have learned from media accounts, a UW-L professor recently included a highly partisan political reference in an e-mail message sent to an on-line class
I’m writing to be sure you all know that although we proudly promote free speech and academic freedom here at UW-L, such a partisan political reference made by an instructor while teaching a class of students is problematic for two reasons. First, it doesn’t appear that by expressing her personal political views to her students the professor added anything to the educational experience in the class. And, second, there is the possibility that such a partisan reference might undermine the educational experience by creating discomfort in students who hold political views that are different from those inappropriately expressed by their instructor. The same would be true if the instructor had made a personal religious expression in class, for example.
We therefore consider the reference in the e-mail note to be inappropriate and we apologize to the many people who have contacted me to say they were offended by it. We will continue to do all we can to ensure that a similarly inappropriate reference does not occur in the future. As I’ve said, we’re proud to promote free speech and academic freedom here at UW-L, and we also realize the responsibility our instructors have to avoid expressing their personal political views inappropriately in our classes. Thank you for your patience with this highly unusual situation.
Sincerely,
Joe
I find that hard to believe. I think this kind of stuff is routine in the UW system, business as usual.
I think it's great that Gow is taking responsibility, acknowledging Slocum's out of line behavior, and recognizing the threat such instructors pose in education.
However, I think Gow may have been motivated to apologize due to the negative press the university was receiving in the national media. His initial reaction was not to issue an apology.
From FOX News:
“It would be inappropriate to use partisan politics in a class, so we contacted the professor in question,” Chancellor Joe Gow told FoxNews.com. “We want to be sure our students feel that they can have a different opinion from others on campus,” Gow added. “She (Slocum) can have a personal conversation with someone, but this e-mail was for an online class so the message is more in an official capacity.”Gow's initial comments weren't as firm as they needed to be.
He said, because it was referring to the business of class, Slocum's message was "more in an official capacity." No, the email was sent in a completely official capacity.
It's from the professor to her students regarding an assignment.
Eventually, Gow admitted that was the case.
I'm glad he apologized. Nonetheless, I do wonder if it's rooted in a sincere understanding of the unacceptability of instructors like Slocum spewing their personal politics to students or in the simple desire to get the national media off his back.

Rachel Slocum, UW-La Crosse Professor: Blame Tea Party
Wisconsin taxpayers are footing the bill for Assistant Professor Rachel Slocum to indoctrinate University of Wisconsin - La Crosse students with her politically biased drivel.
From FOX News:
A Wisconsin college professor warned her students they wouldn't be able to get all of their homework done because of the partial government shutdown, and put a partisan spin on the bad news."[T]he message is more in an official capacity"?
“Some of the data gathering assignment will be impossible to complete until the Republican/tea party controlled House of Representatives agrees to fund the government,” University of Wisconsin La Crosse Assistant Geography Professor Rachel Slocum told students in an e-mail.
“The Census website, for instance, is closed,” she continued. “Please do what you can on the assignment. Those parts you are unable to do because of the shutdown will have to wait until Congress decides we actually need a government. Please listen to the news and be prepared to turn in the assignment quickly once our nation re-opens.”
...“It would be inappropriate to use partisan politics in a class, so we contacted the professor in question,” Chancellor Joe Gow told FoxNews.com. “We want to be sure our students feel that they can have a different opinion from others on campus,” Gow added. “She (Slocum) can have a personal conversation with someone, but this e-mail was for an online class so the message is more in an official capacity.”
No, Chancellor. The email was sent in a completely official capacity.
It's from the professor to her students regarding an assignment.
This was totally out of line.
...In a subsequent e-mail from Slocum, also obtained by The College Fix, Slocum sought to downplay the politics of the partial government shutdown that has resulted from Congress' budget impasse.Slocum is supposedly an educated, intelligent woman; but she did a remarkably stupid thing.
“The e-mail I sent you all about the government shut down [sic] was not meant to be partisan, but it may have come across that way," she wrote. "It is true that I am dismayed that you cannot easily do the assignment. My opinion is that this shutdown is a bad idea.”
She even pleads with her students at one point, asking them not to forward her e-mails to others outside the class.
“If you want to discuss all of this, let me know and I can make an internal discussion board about it. But please don’t forward my emails to conservative blogs or list servs and I will make sure my emails explain things fully,” she wrote.
She didn't blurt out her hatred for the Republicans and the Tea Party off-the-cuff. She wrote it in an email. She had plenty of time to edit herself. Really, really stupid.
Slocum's subsequent email is pathetic.
"The e-mail I sent you all about the government shut down [sic] was not meant to be partisan, but it may have come across that way."
Oh, come on!
It's possible this woman is so immersed in the Leftist culture and so entrenched in the Leftist bubble that she doesn't realize she's being a hack and lacking in terms of professionalism.
"[P]lease don’t forward my emails to conservative blogs."
Funny.
Afraid of accountability?
Would she mind her students forwarding emails to liberal blogs?
I'm glad Slocum was exposed.
Bottom line: There was no reason whatsoever for Slocum to spew her personal disdain for Republicans and the Tea Party when discussing that assignment with her students via email.
Busted.

Sorry, Tea Party lunatics shut down the government.
The Amber Alert website was offline.
Sorry, Tea Party lunatics shut down the government.
People are being forced from their homes in Lake Mead.
Sorry, Tea Party lunatics shut down the government.
Mount Rushmore, the Grand Canyon, the Statue of Liberty -- all "closed" because of Right-wing radicals.
The National Mall is also closed because of Tea Party lunatics, but the Park Service isn't stopping an immigration reform rally from taking place there.
From the Washington Examiner:
A planned immigration reform rally will take place on the National Mall on Tuesday even though the site is closed due to the government shutdown. The Obama administration isn't harassing its allies.
Organizers for the "Camino Americano: March for Immigration Reform" were spotted Monday setting up a stage and equipment on the National Mall for the rally which will take place on Tuesday.
A few scattered barriers around the park have signs informing visitors that the area is closed as a result of the government shutdown.
Susana Flores, a spokesperson for the rally, confirmed for the Washington Examiner that the Park Service will allow the event to take place under the group's rights granted by the First Amendment.
...The event is hosted by several immigration activist groups, together with the Service Employees International Union (SEIU) and the AFL-CIO.
The union and immigration activists won't be greeted with barricades. The National Mall is closed but, of course, that won't stop the immigration reform rally.
Surprising?
Not at all.
The way the Democrats are picking and choosing their targets from punishment is thoroughly disgusting.
It's the Obama way: Waivers for friends.

Obama Government Shutdown Ad: 'Irresponsible'
Here's an email notice of a new ad from Obama's Organizing For Action, called "Irresponsible." No surprise, it trashes Republicans and the Tea Party for the government shutdown.
Mary --
I want you to see the TV ad we're about to put on the air.
It's hard hitting, because it needs to be: This is about sending a national message to the Tea Party Republicans, who are causing this mess, and Speaker John Boehner, who's letting them.
You should see the ad -- and (this is the really important part) take action. We need your voice today to join in saying "enough already!"
This isn't just about the government shutdown -- the same Tea Party Republicans who shut down the government are threatening to take us into economic shutdown by refusing to pay their bills.Obama should cut the crap and start TALKING with the elected representatives of half the people in the country.
Raising the debt limit is something Congress has to do because it has to make good on the financial commitments that it made.
Not doing that wouldn't just send America back into recession -- it could cause a global financial meltdown.
They're no longer simply "playing political games" -- they really did shut down the federal government because they couldn't defund or delay Obamacare. It's on us to take them at their word that they'd do the same thing here.
That's why we're fighting back. But it can't just be a TV ad -- that's not going to change Washington, not on its own.
We all need to take action -- watch the ad, then say you're not going to let John Boehner and the Tea Party Republicans get away with this:

Thanks,

The other side will spend millions to maintain the status quo. We're fighting for change -- chip in $5 or more to support OFA today.
The ad says:
"Government shutdown is hurting veterans, seniors, and our kids."The Obama administration, DEMOCRATS, are choosing which government offices and services to shutdown. They are deciding to close open air monuments, parks, and toss people out of their homes.
"Tell [Republicans] to stand up to the Tea Party."
The Tea Party isn't doing that.
If the government tried to force me out of my home, I would refuse.
This is tyrannical stuff.
If Obama and his crew are "winning," and Americans believe the Tea Party is solely to blame for this shutdown, then those Americans are stupid. They're blind. They're as irresponsible as the bully Obama and the Dems for PUNISHING us.

World War II Vets and Their Memorial, Obama and His Asia Trip
Obama isn't letting the government shutdown get in the way of his travel plans.
On Friday, he's going to Asia. Apparently, Obama's crew consists of nothing but "essential" employees.
He's not inconvenienced at all.
Supposedly, we're in a state of crisis, but Obama is hitting the road.
From CNSNews:
With a government shutdown just hours away on Monday, White House spokesman Jay Carney said President Obama still plans to go to Asia this weekend. So, Obama will go about his business without interruption, spending millions of taxpayer dollars, but he expected World War II veterans, visiting D.C. on an Honor Flight, to be locked out of the open air memorial honoring them.
"We don't have any changes to announce. We plan to make this trip," Carney told reporters at the White House Monday. "The president, as president, looks forward to and believes it is important to travel to Asia in order to promote our economic interests in Asia and our strategic interests in Asia."
One of the Republicans' criticisms of Obama is his absolute refusal to negotiate on a stopgap funding bill and the debt limit, even when he's in Washington.
Terrible.
These vets didn't let a government shutdown stop them.
From the Washington Post:
The elderly veterans piled off their buses at the World War II Memorial a little after 11 on Tuesday morning. Some eased into wheelchairs. Others leaned on canes. All had come to pay homage to their famous crusade and fallen comrades of long ago. Here's video:
Veterans of Omaha Beach, Okinawa and the Italian campaign, they arrived only to face metal barricades and signs announcing that the memorial was closed because of the federal shutdown.
Gentle men in blue baseball caps and red T-shirts, they said it was emotional just to be there — and a shame to have come all the way from their homes in Mississippi for this.
Suddenly, in the bright sunshine, cheers and applause erupted. The barricades had been moved — by whom it was not clear. And the column of veterans poured through the gap in the lines and into the memorial.
It was a chaotic scene from the first day of the shutdown: frail-looking men — at least one of whom hadn’t been to Washington since the war — led by jubilant Republican Congress members and television crews as a bagpiper played “Shenandoah.”
...“It’s the best civil disobedience we’ve seen in Washington for a long time,” Rep. Bill Huizenga (R-Mich.) told part of the group inside the memorial.
“As the son of a World War II veteran, I just want to say, guys, forget about all this politics and all this junk,” he said. “This is about you today, and this is about us saying thank you to you and your service.”
Someone shouted: “Members of Congress here say America doesn’t shut down!”
And a group of people called out in unison: “We love our congressmen!”
Without question, it was right for the vets to access the World War II Memorial. The Democrats
and Obama failed in their attempt to ruin the vets' trip.
I don't see how Obama can trot off to Asia right now.
Perhaps he should talk to the Republicans, elected representatives of the American people, and compromise, before he jets to Asia and yaps with foreign leaders.
Obama has more pressing business here at home.
He's an awful president, just awful.
______________
UPDATE: Obama Administration Decided to Block Access to Memorials
New wave of WWII veterans move barricades to access DC memorial
AP video here.
I am so sick and tired of this BS being rammed down our throats - the posturing, the idiotic accusations, the outrageous statements, the finger-pointing. Enough already!
The Tea Party didn't choose to close the WWII memorial. The Tea Party didn't set up barricades. Obama's crew did.
The government works for us. We aren't slaves of the government. The government does not have the power to hold us hostage unless we allow it.

Racine Tea Party Rally
Here are details for today's Tea Party rally in Racine:
Racine, WI – It is way past time to hold a street corner rally once again. America is tired of hearing about scandal after scandal involving the Obama administration, and finally just about had it when the president calls these incidents phony.Racine Tea Party and other conservatives will meet at the southeast corner of Washington Avenue (Hwy 20) and Green Bay Road (Highway 31) in Racine on Saturday September 7th at 1:30pm. We will gather in the parking lot close to the Hardees Restaurant and spread out north, south, east and west to line the roads with signs pointing to the scandal (or horrible policy such as Obamacare) of your choice. Our goal is to not let people forget that none of these issues have been resolved. We can’t let them sweep the IRS targeting of conservatives, Benghazi, the NSA, Fast and Furious, targeting of the AP and more under the rug.
WHAT: Racine Tea PAC Roadside RallyWHERE: Southeast corner of Washington Ave & Green Bay Rd in Racine, WIWHEN: Saturday, September 7th, 2013 1:30PM – 3:00PM
