Dick Durbin Shithole

While at the White House on Thursday, Dick Durbin says that President Trump "said things which were hate-filled, vile, and racist."

Durbin said, "But I cannot believe that in the history of the White House, in that Oval Office, any president has ever spoken the words that I personally heard our president speak yesterday."

Ridiculous.

We know presidents have used foul language in the Oval Office.

We know a Democrat president engaged in sexual activity with a woman other than his wife in the Oval Office.

That stuff is on the record.

For Durbin to claim that no president, in the history of the White House, has ever spoken the way he alleges Trump did is positively goofy.

Ted Cruz and Dick Durbin (Video)

(h/t The Right Scoop)

John McCain Snarks Ted Cruz

John McCain's comments about Ted Cruz make me sick.

McCain joined Harry Reid, Dick Durbin, Chuck Schumer and the Leftist cabal in smearing him.

That sort of behavior contributed to McCain's loss in the 2008 presidential election.

McCain helped elect Obama. Without Obama, we wouldn't be on the brink of a socialist single payer health care system.

I blame McCain and his ilk.

God, Jerusalem, Israel, and the Democrats

What buffoons!

Yesterday, the Democrats changed their platform, removing every single reference to God and removing language that was pro-Israel, including references to Jerusalem as Israel's capital.

Dick Durbin went bonkers yesterday during an interview with Brett Baier, defending the Democrats' platform moves. He trashed FOX News in the process.

These Democrats are in such disarray, they are such complete and utter frauds, that God and Jerusalem as the capital of Israel are now back in the Dems' platform.

What a load of crap!

This pandering, this transparent attempt at damage control after the Dems and Obama revealed their true selves, is so ridiculous!

It's so obvious that they are trying to fool Americans.

When an amendment to return God and Jerusalem to the platform was brought before the delegates, the Democrats were clearly divided.

From RealClearPolitics:

Delegates and members of the Democratic party booed after former Gov. Ted Strickland (D-OH) discussed God and moved to recognize Jerusalem as the capital of Israel.

Convention chairman Antonio Villaraigosa, mayor of Los Angeles, had to ask for the Yea and Nay vote several times before declaring the motion passed.

C-SPAN cameras captured the dissatisfaction among members after the motion passed.

Watch the video.

Priceless!

And the Dems deliver another ready-made ad to the GOP.

What a pathetic dance!

What a disgrace!

Durbin looks like even more of an idiot than he did yesterday. And Obama looks like a total liar.

Back in July, Jay Carney refused to say Obama recognized Jerusalem as the capital of Israel. Without question, yesterday's version of the Dems' platform reflected Obama's views.

Watch the White House press briefing, July 26, 2012:

Carney, speaking for Obama, would not declare Jerusalem as the capital of Israel.

This sudden transformation reveals what a flip-flopping panderer Obama is.

The fact is the Democrats shouted down the changes in the platform. Two-thirds of the delegates most definitely did not approve the amendment.

Obama is a fraud.

_____________

UPDATE:

Of course, Obama personally intervened to make the changes. He saw that his position on Jerusalem, as clarified by Jay Carney in summer, was election year poison.

He feared he'd suffer at the polls.

What a fraud!

The truth has been exposed. We know the real Obama.

This platform mess isn't cleaned up.

It can't be undone. We know the truth.

The Democrats removed GOD from their platform. Nothing can change that fact.

The Democrats removed language stating Jerusalem as the capital of Israel from their platform. Nothing can change that fact.

Hopefully, Mitt Romney and Paul Ryan will repeatedly remind Americans of the Democrats' disgrace regarding Jerusalem and God.

_____________

From Politico:
Two platform planks sparked division at the Democratic National Convention here Wednesday.

Things got so bad that President Barack Obama was forced to personally intervene, ordering language mentioning God and naming Jerusalem as the rightful capital of Israel be added.

Obama had seen the language prior to the convention, a campaign source said, but did not seek to change it until after Republicans jumped on the omissions of God and Jerusalem late Wednesday. And even then, it had to be forced through a convention hall full of delegates who nearly shouted down the change.

Will the real Obama please stand up?

Dick Durbin and Brett Baier (Video)

Democrat Dick Durbin flipped out during an interview with Brett Baier.

He was extremely defensive and unfairly criticized FOX News.

Baier had some simple questions for Durbin about the Democrats' platform. He wanted to know why God was purged from the platform - a fair question. Baier also asked about changes in the Dems' platform regarding Jerusalem and Israel.

Baier was respectful. He was composed. He was professional.

Durbin was a complete jackass.

Here's video:

Durbin made a huge mistake by going on the attack to avoid answering legitimate questions.

He revealed that Democrats don't want to talk about who they really are.

Dick Durbin and Bank of America

Democrat Dick Durbin is a joke.

He has a problem with Bank of America.

Sen. Dick Durbin on Tuesday urged customers unhappy with Bank of America's new $5-a-month debit card fee to take their business elsewhere - calling the fee a golden opportunity for other banks "not as greedy" to drum up new business.

"I believe in something called competition," the Illinois Democrat said on a conference call with reporters.

Oh really?

Durbin believes in competition?

Durbin told Americans to "get the heck out of that bank."

Interesting, especially since Durbin was behind the "swipe fee" amendment. Durbin was responsible for the groundwork for the fees.

DICK DURBIN: Bank of America customers, vote with your feet. Get the heck out of that bank. Find yourself a bank or credit union that won't gouge you for $5 a month and still will give you a debit card that you can use every single day.

Very sleazy, Dick.

Coburn: 'American People Ought to Pray'

The Left is pretending to be horrified by something that Sen. Tom Coburn said during his remarks from the floor of the Senate on Sunday.

Dick Durbin took to the floor to express his shock.

What a joke!

Video.

Transcript

SEN. TOM COBURN: So, it's not about being bipartisan. It's about... You get to take this or leave it. What the American people ought to pray is that somebody can't make the vote tonight. That's what they ought to pray, so that we can actually get the middle -- not me, not mine. I understand I'm way over here. But we ought to get the middle of America and the middle of the Senate a bill that can run through this country and actually do what we say we all want to do.

Someone obviously was watching this and clued Dick Durbin in on the opportunity to paint Coburn as a dangerous loon wishing harm on a Democrat senator.

Later, Durbin pounced on Coburn's words, interrupting Sen. Sherrod Brown.

SEN. DICK DURBIN: Will the senator yield for a question? I'm going to be speaking at the end of this hour that's been allocated to our side, and I don't want to interrupt the senator from Ohio, but for one reason. I don't know if the senator from Ohio heard or is aware of a statement made earlier today by our colleague from Oklahoma, Sen. Coburn, who came to the floor and said, 'What the American people ought to pray is that somebody can't make the vote tonight. That's what they ought to pray.'

I have been trying to reach Sen. Coburn because he is on a committee that I serve on, and I work with him. This statement troubles me and I'm trying to reach him to come back to the floor and explain exactly what he meant about a senator being unable to make the vote tonight. I don't know if the senator from Ohio is familiar with the statement, but I'm reaching out to Sen. Coburn. I'll be on the floor in the next 45 minutes and I hope that he will join me there, and I thank the senator from Ohio for yielding.

Good grief.

How lame!

The Left-wing blogosphere has followed Durbin's lead, acting aghast over Coburn's statements.

Coburn doesn't need to clarify anything. He was merely stating that the only way the America people's voices will be heard is if one of the 60 liberal extremists would not cast a vote to approve a procedural motion that moves government-run health care legislation a step closer to becoming reality.

The American people, overwhelmingly opposed to ObamaCare, are being ignored by the Democrat Obama regime. Those radicals are not listening to the people. They are ramming through legislation against their will.

Coburn was not suggesting that Americans should pray for a Dem to be stricken and drop dead or have an accident.

Nonetheless, Durbin was suggesting that Coburn's remarks had those sinister unpinnings. He was echoing the Leftist fringe chatter. Durbin said what the radicals wanted to hear.

Durbin has no shame. Zero.

The Left needs to get a grip. Obama and the Dems are out of step with the American people. As Coburn said, we need to go to the middle in health care reform, not out on the fringes.

That's not difficult to understand. I don't believe Durbin misunderstood.

Durbin is a disgrace.

NOTE: If my interpretation is wrong and Coburn did mean to say that Americans should pray that harm befall one of the 60 liberal extremists in favor of government-run health care, then Coburn is out of line.

Gitmo Detainees in Illinois

Gitmo detainees will soon be calling the Thomson Correctional Center in Thomson, Illinois "Home, Sweet Home."

Terrorists are leaving the prison at Guantanamo Bay and relocating to western Illinois, not too far south of the Wisconsin border.

Terrific.

This plan was discussed a month ago. What was being floated as an idea then is about to become a reality.

From ABC News:

A prison complex 150 miles from Chicago will house Gitmo detainees, the Obama administration will announce Tuesday.

A senior administration official tells ABC News that on Tuesday the administration will announce that President Obama "has directed that the federal government proceed with the acquisition of the Thomson Correctional Center in Thomson, Illinois to house federal inmates and a limited number of detainees from Guantanamo Bay, Cuba."

..."Closing the detention center at Guantanamo is essential to protecting our national security and helping our troops by removing a deadly recruiting tool from the hands of al Qaeda," the official said. "Tomorrow’s announcement is an important step forward as we work to achieve our national security objectives."

It's argued that closing Gitmo is important to national security, but bringing detainees to Illinois certainly isn't going to help security in the heartland.

Guantanamo isn't an al Qaeda recruiting tool in and of itself. The act of detaining is the issue. Alleged abuse is the issue.

Why wouldn't a maximum security prison in Illinois be the same sort of recruiting tool as Gitmo? What's the difference?

Just paint a target on the Thomson Correctional Center. It will be a magnet for terrorist threats.

Terrorists, attack here.

I think we should house the detainees in D.C. Keep them in the House and Senate office buildings. Is there room in the basement of the White House? Put the detainees there.

Here's more on the Obama administration's plan, from the Chicago Tribune:

President Barack Obama has directed the federal government to buy the near-empty state prison in rural Thomson, Ill., to house federal inmates and up to 100 detainees from the U.S. detention center at Guantanamo Bay, Cuba, officials said late Monday.

The official announcement is planned for Tuesday and follows weeks of consideration of the Thomson Correctional Center as a site for Guantanamo detainees.

...Administration officials have estimated some 3,800 jobs would be created in and around Thomson to operate the prison.

Now, is that 3,800 jobs created or 3,800 jobs saved?
...In previous discussions, aides said the federal government would operate the Thomson site as a prison for its highest-risk inmates, and also turn over a portion to the Department of Defense to take transferees from the U.S. military prison in Cuba.

The administration has also considered the possibility of operating a military tribunal at or near the prison, where the government would try combatants charged with acts of terrorism. Officials did not comment on that idea Monday.

The Thomson site could become the sole location for what the administration calls "long-term detainees," those suspects who will remain in custody but who are not likely to stand trial.

That sounds great, military tribunals in northwestern Illinois. Just great.

Does Dick Durbin really think that al Qaeda members will be cool with the Thomson prison? Really?

Does Obama think that the world will look approvingly on the Thomson Correctional Center, especially Muslim nations?

Thomson will become Gitmo North. It will be despised.

I'm not at all comfortable with bringing these detainees to reside in a facility located at the heart of the U.S. mainland.

And this is being sold as an economic boon for the region? I don't think it will help the local economy if residents leave the area.

I wouldn't want to live anywhere near the place.

Guantanamo Detainees in Illinois?

Bring detainees from Guantanamo Bay and house them in Thomson, Illinois, not too far south of the Wisconsin border?

Unbelievable.

It seems every day the Obama adminstration comes up with something new to give me a headache and make my stomach churn.

From the Wall Street Journal:

The U.S. is looking at a mostly unused prison in Illinois as a place to move some terrorism suspects now detained at Guantanamo Bay, administration officials said.

The idea of using the Thomson Correctional Center, 150 miles west of Chicago, has the support of some local elected officials, including Sen. Dick Durbin, the No. 2 Democrat in the Senate. But people in Thomson, a town of roughly 500 people bordering the Mississippi River, said that while they welcome the economic lift, they worry about the possible effect from people visiting the detainees.

Thankfully, this latest horrible idea by the Obama administration is being opposed by some Illinois lawmakers.

From the Chicago Tribune:

Several Illinois lawmakers say the Chicago area would become a terrorist target if Guantanamo Bay detainees are moved to a prison in western Illinois.

Republican U.S. Reps. Mark Kirk, Don Manzullo, Judy Biggert and Peter Roskam held a news conference in Chicago Monday. They say an Obama administration proposal to buy the state's Thomson Correctional Center is too risky.

Kirk says he'll ask Congress to require that the administration assess the potential security risks to O'Hare International Airport and the Willis Tower. The lawmakers say the governor and state legislature should be required to approve such a move.

Illinois Gov. Pat Quinn and Sen. Dick Durbin also will hold a news conference Monday in support of the plan.

Wisconsin Gov. Jim Doyle should oppose the plan.

Wisconsin lawmakers should voice their opposition as well.

I don't want the new Gitmo to be so close to home.

There is no reason to bring the detainees to northwestern Illinois or anywhere in the U.S.

This is a political move, pure and simple.

Obama has broken so many of his promises. It's no big deal for him to break the closing Gitmo promise, too.

Keep the terrorists off American soil. Is that too much to ask?

Limbaugh: 9/11 Terror Detainees and Jury of their Peers

Eric Holder announced this morning that 9/11 self-confessed masterminds Khalid Sheikh Mohammed, Walid Muhammed Salih Mubarak Bin Attash, Ramzi Bin Al Shibh, Ali Abdul-Aziz Ali, and Mustafa Ahmed Al Hawsawi will have their day in U.S. civilian court.

Read the text of Eric Holder's statement: "Attorney General Announces Forum Decisions for Guantanamo Detainees"

The 9/11 plotters will be tried in Manhattan in the Southern District of New York.

These monsters will be granted the protections of the U.S. Constitution, as if they are citizens of the U.S.

It's a disgrace.

Rush Limbaugh wondered aloud about the terrorists being offered a trial and judged by a jury of their peers.

Jury of their peers - who would that be?

RUSH LIMBAUGH: The only one I can think of is Chris Matthews but we're gonna need 11 more!

Other potential "peers" mentioned by Limbaugh:
Keith Olbermann

Bill Ayers

Bernardine Dohrn

Jeremiah Wright

Harry Reid

Dick Durbin

John Kerry

Limbaugh suggests that Cindy Sheehan should be the judge.

Breitbart: "I am Kenneth Gladney"

Andrew Breitbart has written a terrific column, "I am Kenneth Gladney."

The first round of protests against the Obama administration's chaotic and rapid-fire expansion of government came in the form of grass-roots "tea parties," which were predictably met with scorn by the Democrat-Media Complex (the natural coalition of the Democratic Party and the mainstream media.)

...Last week on the grounds of the once-venerated White House, Senate Majority Whip Richard J. Durbin, Illinois Democrat, taking his cues from his allies in the media, referred to last week's health care town-hall protesters as "tea baggers."

How far we have fallen.

Stepping up the rhetoric from mockery to pure hatred, and absent any evidence, Mr. Olbermann has called the president's public protesters "worse than racists." Political activist and comedianJaneane Garofalo colored them "racist rednecks who hate blacks." And at the somewhat higher end of the food chain, liberal economist Paul Krugman in the New York Times wrote last week that they were motivated by "cultural and racial fear."

House Speaker Nancy Pelosi, who is having a hard time these days explaining the president's Israel policy to her Jewish constituents, blatantly lied and said that the protesters were wielding "swastikas and symbols like that."

...The mainstream media and the Democratic Party are working in concert to make sure that what happened to President Bush -- sustained organized grass-roots protests ("mobs," if you will), relentless media criticism and permanent opposition-party obstructionism -- does not happen to their guy. Complicating matters, the media's fate is directly tied to the president's. Without them, Barack Obama would still be a backbencher from Illinois.

But the mockery. The recklessness. Unsupportable libel isn't working. The tea parties and, now, the health care protests at town-hall meetings have only gotten bigger and stronger. The anti-big-government movement is pure. Its participants represent something close to what used to be considered normative in this country.

Tea Party attendees and health care town-hall protesters share the common belief that the extravagant spending of President Obama and the Democratic Party -- absent any checks and balances -- will eventually lead more people into government dependency, higher taxes and, perhaps, our country's financial ruin. These are legitimate fears felt by millions of Americans.

That's why the media and the Democratic Party are scared and are throwing outrageous and hateful accusations at everyday Americans -- hoping that people stay home out of fear.

...Last week, a black gentleman named Kenneth Gladney went to a town-hall meeting hosted by Rep. Russ Carnahan, Missouri Democrat. While passing out "Don't Tread on Me" flags, he was viciously attacked by Service Employees International Union (SEIU) members. One called him a "nigger."

These union thugs were directed by the White House to go to the protests and "punch back twice as hard." And they did.

While the attack was captured on video and is available on YouTube, Mr. Gladney's horrifying story is absent from MSNBC's 24/7 media cycle. Mr. Krugman has yet to write about it. And Mr. Cooper has yet to condemn the attack.

On Sept. 12, I will be attending a tea party in Quincy, Ill., joining Instapundit professor Glenn Reynolds, Gateway Pundit's Jim Hoft, and Tucker Carlson.

With the Democratic Party in control of all branches of government and the Fourth Estate acting as the Democratic Party's protector, the tea party movement is the closest thing America has to checks and balances.

If that isn't enough to motivate you, perhaps showing your solidarity with Kenneth Gladney, a fellow patriot, is.

The smears by the Democrats and their comrades in the media are disgraceful.

The abuse Gladney has endured is shameful.

As Breitbart says, "How far we have fallen."

ENOUGH.

Don't call me a "tea bagger."

Don't call me a racist.

Don't call me a Nazi.

Don't call me part of an angry mob.

Call me a patriot.

I AM THE MOB

According to Dick Durbin, the protests against Obama's government-run health care aren't part of a grassroots effort.

Although he acknowledges that there are Americans with legitimate questions about ObamaCare, he turns around and insists that the protests are a manufactured "angry mob"

DICK DURBIN: There is a large group in America stuck right smack dab in the middle. They have honest questions about health care reform, questions that need to be asked and answered.

I think Durbin is kidding himself, or trying to kid those listening to him, when he speaks of the "large group" of Americans stuck in the middle, uncertain about ObamaCare.

There's a large group that is dead set against what's in H.R. 3200.
DURBIN: In the meantime, we have these screaming groups on either side. That isn't helpful.

Let's be honest about this. You know, town meetings are not bean bags. I've had hundreds of them, and sometimes folks get upset. And that's part of America, part of our process. But this is clearly being orchestrated. And these folks have instructions. They come down from a Texas lobbyist in Washington.

That's not true.

Meet "the mob."

DNC Statement: "Angry Mobs," "K Street Lobbyists"

According to the Democratic National Committee, I'm part of the "angry mobs" incited by "K Street Lobbyists."

THAT'S A LIE.

THE DNC IS LYING ABOUT AMERICANS VOICING THEIR DISSENT.

SLEAZY!

And anyone who regurgitates the DNC's crap is serving as an accomplice in an attempt to stifle free speech and discredit Americans for speaking up and speaking out on government-run health care.

The DNC is engaged in a disgusting smear campaign, meant to marginalize the sincere concerns that millions of Americans have about the Democrats' plan to socialize medical care in the U.S.

I embrace free speech.

The Democrats and Obama fear it.

Here's the despicable full statement as released by DNC spokesman Brad Woodhouse:

Statement from DNC Communications Director Brad Woodhouse on the Republican Party and Allied Groups’ Mob Rule:

The Republicans and their allied groups – desperate after losing two consecutive elections and every major policy fight on Capitol Hill – are inciting angry mobs of a small number of rabid right wing extremists funded by K Street Lobbyists to disrupt thoughtful discussions about the future of health care in America taking place in Congressional Districts across the country.

However, much like we saw at the McCain-Palin rallies last year where crowds were baited with cries of 'socialist,' 'communist,' and where the birthers movement was born – these mobs of extremists are not interested in having a thoughtful discussion about the issues – but like some Republican leaders have said – they are interested in ‘breaking’ the President and destroying his Presidency.

These mobs are bussed in by well funded, highly organized groups run by Republican operatives and funded by the special interests who are desperately trying to stop the agenda for change the President was elected to bring to Washington. Despite the headline grabbing nature of these angry mobs and their disruptions of events, they are not reflective of where the American people are on the issues – or the hundreds of thousands of thoughtful discussions taking place around kitchen tables, water coolers and in homes.

The right wing extremists’ use of things like devil horns on pictures of our elected officials, hanging members of Congress in effigy, breathlessly questioning the President's citizenship and the use of Nazi SS symbols and the like just shows how outside of the mainstream the Republican Party and their allies are. This type of anger and discord did not serve Republicans well in 2008 – and it is bound to backfire again.

"Mob rule"? What a crock!

This is disgraceful. These smear tactics make me sick.

I have nothing to do with the RNC. I'm not registered with any political party. I'm not funded by anyone. I don't work for an insurance company. No one in my family does.

I'm not an extremist. I don't draw things like devil horns on pictures of our elected officials, or hang members of Congress in effigy. I don't breathlessly question Obama's citizenship. I don't use Nazi SS symbols.

Raising that stuff is just the DNC's way of deflecting from the real issue.

The reality is Obama and the Democrats are lying about government-run health care and what it would mean for American families.

They are lying. They have to deceive Americans, because when we learn what their plan would mean to our families, we want no part of it.

Obama cannot promise that you can keep your current health insurance coverage because there's no way he can guarantee your employer will continue to offer it, particularly given the incentives for employers to "choose" the public option.

I want no part of rationed care and the horrific policy suggestions of the ghoulish Ezekiel Emanuel and his creepy cohorts.

Opposing government-run health care and speaking out about what a disaster it would be for the country doesn't make one a "right wing extremist."

What a terrible move to suggest that millions of Americans who oppose government-run health care are extremists and the puppets of K Street lobbyists!

This smear campaign solidifies my belief that Obama and his comrades must not be allowed to come between me and my doctor, and make life and death decisions for me and my family.

Don't tread on me, DNC.

Don't tread on me, Dick Durbin and your Democrat colleagues.

Don't tread on me, Obama.

Here's the Republican reaction to the DNC statement:

Comment by National Republican Congressional Committee spokesman Ken Spain on Offensive DNC 'Mob Rule' Statement:

What Democrats call ‘mob rule’ the average American calls ‘democracy.' Is this the strategy Democrats had in mind when they promised to galvanize public opinion regarding their unpopular massive government-takeover of health care?

This hyper-defensive reaction from the Democrat Party speaks volumes about the precarious position their members find themselves in. Speaker Pelosi and other party leaders dubbed this recess a healthcare ‘offensive,’ but little did we know the ‘offensiveness’ would be aimed at their own constituents. These kinds of despicable characterizations of middle class Americans, who oppose trillions in mounting government debt, as elements of the partisan ‘fringe’ smacks of elitism.
