Mitch McConnell, Ashley Judd - Recording and Transcript

Who bugged Mitch McConnell's campaign headquarters?

Who recorded a discussion without the knowledge of all the participants?

That's illegal. That's the main issue here, not what was said about Ashley Judd.

From Mother Jones:

On February 2, Sen. Mitch McConnell, the Senate GOP leader facing reelection next year, held a private meeting at his Louisville, Kentucky, campaign headquarters with several aides to discuss opposition research collected on his potential challengers and how best to defeat possible foes. Much of the conversation focused on actor/activist Ashley Judd, who at the time was the most prominent of McConnell's potential Democratic opponents, and McConnell and his aides considered assailing Judd for her past struggles with depression and for her religious views. (Judd has since announced she will not run against McConnell.) Mother Jones has obtained a recording of the meeting.
Oh, horrors!

Imagine a political campaign using a person's religious views or past history against an opponent.

Democrats/Leftists never do that, do they?

Good grief. Obama ran around saying Mitt Romney was responsible for killing a woman. Are we really supposed to be concerned about an opposition research meeting about a potential opponent?

Sarah Palin was ridiculed for her faith. Her family was viciously attacked.

Christine O'Donnell was declared a witch.

Without question, the FBI should investigate this.

We don't know the party responsibility, but we know that an enemy of McConnell wanted to do damage to him.

INVESTIGATE.

Bill Maher and Jay Leno, January 11, 2011 (Video)

Bill Maher brought his vitriol and incendiary rhetoric to the Tonight Show with Jay Leno on Tuesday.

Maher always spews hateful, offensive stuff, but he really outdid himself.

He began by taking some of his trademarks shots at religion, mocking Christmas. One of his Christmas carols: "Oh, Come All Ye Faithless." Maher, raised Catholic and Jewish, said he doesn't hate Christmas because it doesn't have to be a religious thing. He called it a "national holiday."

Maher spoke of his childhood Christmas memories and mentioned how his mother loved Robert Goulet. He recalls the family always playing a Goulet Christmas album during the holidays. That's kind of a sweet memory but Maher fouled it by crudely describing how housewives of his mother's era allegedly responded to Goulet.

Transcript

BILL MAHER: My mother had a thing for Robert Goulet. I think a lot of housewives - he gave a lot of pussy boners out there.

NBC bleeped the term. Leno even objected.
JAY LENO: The word is OK... I think when you put the word with 'mom,' it gets a little confusing.

Acting surprised that his choice of words was unacceptable, Maher followed that with, "Vagina erection, OK?"

Good grief, he's talking about his mother. How creepy!

Then, Leno brought up the 2010 elections and Christine O'Donnell. Leno actually said to Maher, "You were the one that outed her as a witch."

What?

O'Donnell wasn't and isn't a witch. Very lame and very predictable.

Maher then took some swipes at John Boehner and the new Congress. Leno asked Maher what he thought of the new Speaker of the House.

MAHER: Oh, love him, Jay. Why would I not like that achievement-free tool of the extraction industry's John Boehner?

MAHER: You know, these people, this new Congress, you know, I'll be the first to admit the Democrats are no prize. I mean, I'm not a registered Democrat because if I was I'd always be resigning, 'cause they'd always be pissing me off. But, I mean, to throw out the Democrats for the ideas that we know didn't work - you know, it's like, you know, it's like, 'Gee, I'm a little tired of our babysitter. Let's leave the kids on the road tonight.'

The audience was silent. That's understandable. He wasn't being entertaining.

Maher is out of touch with reality. Obama's been in office for two years. Obviously, his ideas haven't worked out well at all for most Americans.

Maher went on to whine about the $14 trillion debt without acknowledging Obama and the Dems' role in creating it. Convenient.

Video.

After the break, Maher really racheted up his rhetoric when discussing the shootings in Tucson. Leno, of course, didn't challenge Maher. He tacitly approved.

Leno asked Maher for his take on the violence, saying "You always have an interesting perspective on these things."

MAHER: Well, I mean, first of all, you know, we're gonna have to hear from the NRA a lot about how this shouldn't stop anything that they want to do. First of all, the NRA should just change their name to the Assassin's Lobby, because that's what they are.

(Smattering of applause)

Yeah, you can applaud that. Somebody should applaud that.

I'm so tired of hearing about the 2nd Amendment and the Constitution. If you love guns, just admit it like it's a vice. It's like alcohol or drugs or sex addiction or gambling. It's just a vice. It's something you like. It's not good for you or anybody else. You just like it; but stop the b---s--- about the 2nd Amendment and the Constitution because nobody needs, nobody needs a gun that fires 31 rounds. That's what this guy had, although Sarah Palin needed 5 to shoot that moose that was basically on the end of the couch.

MAHER: There's a much bigger issue which is the psychology of this country which loves guns. It's just a very armed country with a lot of crazy people, which is not a great combination.

And somebody also should tell all these people, these NRA types who think it's great to be armed everywhere - Arizona has one of the loosest gun rules in the country. You can, I think, carry any weapon concealed without a permit. They want every drunk in a bar to be armed in case a fight breaks out.

And these guys always think that, you know, it's great to have a gun, because if some bad stuff goes down, I'll be able to stop the bad guy. This is your fantasy, a--hole. You would never be able to do that. People have to be trained for months and months at a time. They have to really know what's going on to be able to stop something like that. If that really happened, they would probably freeze up and shoot the wrong person. So let's stop that fantasy also.

Video.

Sure. Arizona wants "every drunk in a bar to be armed." That's the plan.

Note how Maher engages in such crass name-calling. "A--hole." How civil of Maher! What a sophisticated level of discourse!

Maher had some words of criticism for the Democrats and Leno's studio audience.

MAHER: And also I think, how about the Democrats reclaiming this issue? This is the problem. I understand that the gun lobby owns the Supreme Court and they own the Republican Party. What's disappointing is that they have cowed the Democratic Party into silence. There should be one party that sticks up for this issue. Not expecting it from this crowd, but some audience somewhere should stick up for this issue.

Next, Leno brought up FOX News and Roger Ailes.
LENO: Now, Roger Ailes said that at FOX they're going to scale back the rhetoric. Do you think this will last for any longer than a week or two?

MAHER: No, because that's the rhetoric they love. The Right-wing loves... the go-to rhetoric for them is 'Wouldn't it be fun to kill the people we disagree with?'

Good Lord. Talk about incendiary rhetoric!

Appropriately, some in the audience objected to Maher's hateful blather.

MAHER: You know, they try to put across this false equivalence... No?

(Audience members shout 'No')

Really? Then, do you read?

(Audience members shout 'Yes')

Have you seen what people have said? Have you seen what Sarah Palin says? You know, she talks about 'Don't retreat, reload.' She says it like a pull-toy that's broken; every five minutes she says this. Michele Bachmann said she wants Minnesotans armed and dangerous. Allen West, a new congressman, said he wants his opponent to be afraid to leave the house. Left-wingers don't talk that way.

They don't? That's completely absurd.

Here's just a few of the terribly irresponsible things said by Leftists, including Obama.

Apparently, Maher has been engaging in some very selective listening.

The guy has no credibility.

MAHER: And also, Left-wingers, even if they do sometimes make a gun analogy or something, their audience isn't hysterical. They're already talking, the Right-wingers, to people who are hysterical and are irrational and are highly-armed to begin with.

Newt Gingrich - and by the way, among the Right-wing douchebags I hate, I hate him the mostest - because, I mean, he says things, he said the Obama administration is as much a threat to us as were the Nazis and the Soviet Union. Now, it's not just ridiculous, but when you, when you characterize the opposition, the political opposition as not just the opposition but the enemy, the Soviet Union and the Nazis were our enemies. Of course, you're gonna have borderline people who go and take this over the line.

So stop telling me that the Left and the Right are both crazy. Yes, there are crazies on the Left, but they're not the same, they're not gun crazy. They're not violent crazy.

Video.

MSNBC has spent days complaining about the rhetoric from the Right, yet NBC airs this crap from Maher?

Maher calls conservatives "hysterical" and irrational." How terribly divisive, not to mention untrue.

As he rants about crazies on the Right, Maher doesn't mention anything about Leftist American terrorists like Bill Ayers or Karl and Dwight Armstrong. They were responsible for killing their fellow Americans, yet Maher pretends they don't exist. And Leno is either too stupid or too brainwashed into a liberal mindset to point out Maher's omissions.

Maher is yapping about the "Right-wing douchebag" that he hates "the mostest." That's certainly not scaling back the rhetoric, NBC.

Maher complains about Gingrich comparing the Obama administration to the Nazis and the Soviet Union, in terms of being a threat to the nation. Did he complain when Dick Durbin uttered his infamous words referencing Nazis and the Soviets and Pol Pot?

"If I read this to you and did not tell you that it was an FBI agent describing what Americans had done to prisoners in their control, you would most certainly believe this must have been done by Nazis, Soviets in their gulags, or some mad regime — Pol Pot or others — that had no concern for human beings."

Durbin wasn't speaking about a threat to the U.S. and making a comparison. He was actually putting Americans in the same category as "Nazis, Soviets in their gulags, or some mad regime — Pol Pot or others — that had no concern for human beings."

Does Maher consider Durbin to be a "douchebag"? He certainly should if he's to be remotely consistent. Of course, he's not.

How utterly hypocritical and irresponsible on NBC's part to give someone as extreme as Maher a national platform to spew his drivel completely unchallenged!

Disgusting.

UPDATE: Maher claims, "Left-wingers don't talk that way."

Wrong, Bill. Some of the comments I've received as a result of this post reveal you don't know what you're talking about.

Quotes of the Year

Fred Shapiro, associate librarian of Yale Law School, has released his fifth annual list of most notable quotations of the year.

Obviously, the guy is obsessed with Christine O'Donnell and the Tea Party movement.

Only one of the quotations, from Nancy Pelosi, recognizes the Democrats and reflects poorly on them.

Not a single significant quotation of the year was uttered by Obama, accoring to Shapiro. That's odd considering he's supposed to be the greatest orator of our time, of all time.

Here's Shapiro's list:

1. (TIE) "I'm not a witch." Christine O'Donnell, television advertisement, Oct. 4.

1. (TIE) "I'd like my life back." Tony Hayward, comment to reporters, May 30.

3. "If you touch my junk, I'm gonna have you arrested." airline passenger John Tyner, remark to Transportation Security Administration worker at San Diego airport, Nov. 13, 2010

4. "Don't retreat. Instead — reload!" Sarah Palin, Tweet, March 23.

5. "Chi! Chi! Chi! Le! Le! Le! Los mineros de Chile!" Chant at Chilean mine rescue, Oct. 13.

6. "I hope that's not where we're going, but you know, if this Congress keeps going the way it is, people are really looking toward those Second Amendment remedies. They're saying: My goodness, what can we do to turn this country around?" Sharron Angle, radio interview in January.

7. "We have to pass the (health care) bill so you can find out what is in it." Nancy Pelosi, speech to National Association of Counties, March 9.

8. "I'm going to take my talents to South Beach." LeBron James, television broadcast, July 8.

9. "You're telling me that the separation of church and state is found in the First Amendment?" Christine O'Donnell, Delaware senatorial debate, Oct. 19. (The Associated Press reported the quote: "So you're telling me that the separation of church and state, the phrase 'separation of church and state,' is in the First Amendment?")

10. "They should never have put me with that woman. ... She was just a sort of bigoted woman who said she used to be Labour." Gordon Brown, comments about a voter he met while campaigning for British general election, Apr. 28.

Two from Christine O'Donnell, one from Sharron Angle, and one from Sarah Palin?

Good grief.

Supposedly, "Shapiro picks quotes that are famous, important or revealing of the spirit of the times. The quotes aren't necessarily the most eloquent or admirable."

I think Shapiro's list is extremely inadequate in terms of importance and capturing the "spirit of the times," not to mention heavily biased against the Tea Party and conservatives.

Here are some quotations that Shapiro should not have overlooked:

"We're buying shrimp." Barack Obama

"[T]here's no such thing as shovel-ready projects." Barack Obama

"We don't mind the Republicans joining us. They can come for the ride, but THEY GOTTA SIT IN BACK." Barack Obama

"We talk to these folks because they potentially have the best answers so I know whose ass to kick." Barack Obama

"Think of an economy where people could be an artist or a photographer or a writer without worrying about keeping their day job in order to have health insurance or that people could start a business and be entrepreneurial and take risk, but not job loss because of a child with asthma or someone in the family is bipolar—you name it, any condition — is job-locking." Nancy Pelosi

"I refuse to accept the notion that the United States of America is not going to lead the world economically throughout the 20th Century." Joe Biden

"Obama's critics keep blasting him for Chicago-style politics. So, fine. Channel your inner Al Capone and go gangsta against your foes. Let 'em know that if they aren't with you, they are against you, and will pay the price." Roland Martin

"I am wildly excited about the notion that I can walk through a machine instead of getting my dose of love pats." Claire McCaskill

"Why would you put people in charge of government who just don't want to do it? I mean, you wouldn't expect to see al Qaeda members as pilots." Alan Grayson

"Come here, bitch. Come to New York and do it. I'm not praying for [Sharron Angle]. She's going to hell. She's going to hell, this bitch. Joy Behar

There are so many other quotations worth noting that truly capture the spirit of 2010, so many missed by Shapiro.

TSA Jokes - Jay Leno

JAY LENO: A three-hour delay reported at LAX today - not holiday traffic. Apparently, another fat guy got stuck in the full body scanner.

And former Tea Party candidate Christine O'Donnell, remember her? Well, she's speaking out against the TSA's new invasive pat-down technique. Today she said, 'Forget TSA. I don't even touch my own junk.'

You know what? Interesting, have you noticed on the news that most of the refusals for the pat-downs have been from men? And of course, see, the women love this. Finally, men get to see what it's like to be groped by someone who won't take no for an answer.

Christine O'Donnell and Jay Leno (Video)

Jay Leno has been merciless in his treatment of Delaware Republican U.S. Senate candidate Christine O'Donnell. There's been nothing good-natured about his weeks and weeks of "jokes."

Even after she was defeated by Democrat Chris Coons, Leno still targeted her. He has continued to mock and criticize her in his monologue as well as when discussing the midterm elections with guests.

In spite of Leno's very mean-spirited behavior, O'Donnell was a guest on the Tonight Show Wednesday night.

A different Leno showed up for the interview. It must have been difficult for him to maintain control, but he did.

Here's video:

Part 1: Christine O'Donnell talks Karl Rove criticism, Sarah Palin support and Bill Maher threats.

Part 2: Christine O'Donnell talks Witch Ad regrets and answers masturbation question.

Meghan McCain and Jay Leno, November 3 (Video)

Jay Leno had Meghan McCain, John McCain's daughter, on the Tonight Show to discuss the midterm elections.

Both Leno and McCain enjoyed mocking Christine O'Donnell, Sharron Angle, Sarah Palin, and the Tea Party.

There wasn't much discussion of the country's dramatic swing to the Right and how the Democrats really got trounced. No talk of Russ Feingold, John McCain's buddy, getting booted out of the Senate by the people of Wisconsin.

Here's video:

Meghan McCain, Part 1: "Meghan McCain talks about new House Majority, the Tea Party and Christine O'Donnell losing."

Transcript

JAY LENO: Like, see, the Sharron Angle thing - I don't live in Nevada, but everything I saw was just negative. All these people ran these campaigns showing, you know, showing illegal aliens with tattoos sneaking in, and nobody had any solution for anything. It all just seemed to be negative stuff. And as someone, to me, I just, I was turned, I don't know Sharron Angle, never met the woman, but I never saw what are you gonna do. Don't tell me how bad the other person is. Tell what you're gonna do. And I think that's why a lot of these candidates lost.

MEGHAN McCAIN: I agree. I think the Tea Party movement is a very, is a huge force to be reckoned with and no one can deny that. However, now that we have these candidates that are gonna be in office, Rand Paul being one, I am curious to see how they're gonna govern, and if it's not just gonna be 'we hate Obama,' pro-Constitution, anti-spending. I completely agree with that. However, we need to start working together. And the partisanship is what's killing this country in every single way.

The past two years, Obama and the Democrats have been governing in a totally partisan manner.

Why is it that the Tea Party is being called on partisanship when Obama and Pelosi and Reid are as partisan as can be?

Furthermore, many more Democrats across the country lost on Tuesday than Republicans. Leno doesn't bring up why they didn't win their races. He doesn't point out their negative ads. He's incredibly one-sided.

LENO: Yeah. Are you glad that the nuttier, far-Right people did not get elected even though they're Republicans? Like Christine O'Donnell.

McCAIN: I was never a fan of Christine O'Donnell because I think again it belittles all the great people that run for office. Um, and, you know, she's out of her fricking mind, so I'm glad she's not in the Senate, you know?

LENO: She will actually have to get a job now.

McCAIN: I know. She's actually gonna have to work. And you know, it's, I don't know how you have a job...

LENO: Maybe something in the fast food industry?

McCAIN: Yeah, or maybe continue your anti-masturbation platform. That was sure popular, little lady.

LENO: You thought the war on drugs was unwinnable. Oh, my God!

McCAIN: I know.

This is really offensive. "Nuttier"? "Far-Right"?

What about the far-Left loons? Good grief, California just elected Jerry Brown to be governor. JERRY BROWN!

This constant bashing of Christine O'Donnell is completely uncalled for.

At know point in her campaign did she declare herself to be running on an anti-masturbation platform.

That's a talking point of the Leftists bent on discrediting her.

What's wrong with working in the fast food industry? Why would Leno belittle the thousands and thousands of people who work in those jobs? He owes them an apology.

LENO: Now, how about Karl Rove, and there's a bit of a backlash there. Why, I mean, he said some things about Christine O'Donnell that he had to backtrack on, which I don't quite understand.

McCAIN: Yeah, he's also said sort of negative things about the Tea Party, saying it's not a sophisticated movement yet. There's no real leader. I agree with these things. The day that you thought that Karl Rove and I would be agreeing on something, I thought that would be a cold day in hell but we do agree on that. But there's been a total backlash and he's actually rescinded his comments, but...

LENO: Now, he went after Sarah Palin. He said Sarah Palin did not have the gravitas to be president.

McCAIN: Yeah, um, I think she's a lot more powerful than he's giving her credit for. Um, but, I guess he would know better than I would.

LENO: I mean, is she a king-maker? I mean, can she anoint? I think her percentage was pretty good of the people she backed.

McCAIN: It was like half and half. I mean, I think we'll know whatever happens in Alaska. Um, I don't know if she's a king-maker. I still think it's all to a point. I think the reality show is really gonna be a make or break. I also think it's just unpresidential to do a reality show. But America, agree or disagree with me. I have no idea.

McCain's comments about Christine O'Donnell were really cruel, and completely in line with the liberals' take on her. O'Donnell may not have been the strongest candidate but she's not "out of her fricking mind."

That's a ditzy remark.

Leno, of course, was on the same page.

Here's more video:

Meghan McCain, Part 2: "Meghan McCain talks about Sarah Palin, gay marriage and marijuana."

Transcript
JAY LENO: I thought this was interesting. Bristol Palin said today she didn't vote. I mean, if you didn't vote, don't tell people that.

MEGHAN McCAIN: Yeah, I mean, if you didn't vote in my family that was like bad news. I've been voting since I turned eighteen. I guess it's only important to Bristol Palin to vote for Dancing with the Stars. I don't know. I think a lot of women worked really hard to give us the right to vote and I think it's, anyone that doesn't vote, it's just ridiculous.

LENO: I agree. Now, I think Sarah Palin called them... what did she call them? 'corrupt bastards.'

McCAIN: Yeah.

LENO: She called the media 'corrupt bastards.' But isn't she sort of part of the media now or no?

McCAIN: Yeah, she's a FOX correspondent which is, you know, part of the media. So, I guess, I don't know if she's calling herself a corrupt bastard. I think it's a strange comment. I have no idea. I think that there's a symbiotic relationship between politicians and the media, and both just can't reject each other.

LENO: Do you think she will run in 2012?

McCAIN: Oh, yeah. Hell, yeah.

LENO: You think she will?

McCAIN: Oh, yeah. She's getting that ready right now. Of course. Yeah. Oh, yeah.

LENO: See, I don't know. I think to me, you can sorta, she seems to like to make money, so she can give speeches. once you saying you're running, you can't make that $100,000 talking to his group.

McCAIN: One thing I know about it is it's an addiction. Running for president is an addiction, and that's not going away. That girl is running for president.

"That girl"? McCain isn't exactly showing respect for women.

The interview continues. Leno continues to get in his shots. Leno calls McCain an "unusual Republican." He says there's really no place for her in her party anymore, and McCain agrees.

I'd like Leno to discuss the extinction of the moderate Democrat.

Leno has really taken a cruel turn when it comes to harassing conservatives and their children.

He won't shut up about Christine O'Donnell and masturbation.

And why bother with Bristol Palin at all?

Leno makes it sound like Bristol put out a press release to declare that she didn't vote.

She was asked about voting in an interview and she told the truth.

Bristol Palin apparently isn't swept up in the Tea Party frenzy along with mom Sarah Palin. She didn't vote. But who can blame her? Week after week, she's been her own Tea Party -- the improbable, unqualified, ostensibly unelectable wild card who keeps defying all odds by making the "Dancing with the Stars" cut.

On Wednesday, Palin -- daughter of the one-time GOP vice presidential nominee and erstwhile governor of Alaska -- admitted to Inside Edition, "I did not send in my absentee ballots to Alaska."

"I'm going to be in trouble," added Palin in an interview set to air Wednesday. "Sorry, mom!"

And mom may indeed be a bit steamed since Tea Partier Joe Miller, who she endorsed, looks to have been shut out of a Senate race by write-in candidate Sen. Lisa Murkowski.

Asked if she'd support her mom for a 2012 presidential bid, Palin replied "I know she is great, and she is great for our country."

Both Meghan McCain and Leno have a mean streak that's very unbecoming.

Leno: Christine O'Donnell, Anti-Masturbation Trap

Jay Leno won't stop talking about Christine O'Donnell as the "anti-masturbation" candidate.

He's been doing it for weeks. It's stale. It's stupid. It's annoying. And he won't stop.

On Thursday's show, Leno did a bit displaying scary Halloween products.

One was a Christine O'Donnell anti-masturbation trap.

There was a mannequin with a metal mesh box around the crotch. Leno had a fake hand attached to a stick and began to simulate masturbation when a bear trap clamped down on the stick and a chainsaw sliced through it.

Disgusting!

What sophisticated humor!

Remember when networks like NBC had standards and practices people overseeing this sort of stuff?

Juan Williams: Fired by NPR

UPDATE: JUAN WILLIAMS: I Was Fired for Telling the Truth
___________________

UPDATE: NPR's internal memo on the firing of Juan Williams.
___________________

NPR has been waiting for some reason, any reason, to get rid of Juan Williams, NPR senior news analyst and FOX News political analyst.

NPR and its audience weren't happy with what Williams would say on FOX.

On Wednesday night, NPR fired him. I guess the Leftists just couldn't tolerate Williams participating on FOX programs.

From the New York Times:

NPR has terminated its contract with Juan Williams, one of its senior news analysts, after he made comments about Muslims on the Fox News Channel.

NPR said in a statement that it gave Mr. Williams notice of his termination on Wednesday night.

The move came after Mr. Williams, who is also a Fox News political analyst, appeared on the “The O’Reilly Factor” on Monday. On the show, the host, Bill O’Reilly, asked him to respond to the notion that the United States was facing a “Muslim dilemma.” Mr. O’Reilly said, “The cold truth is that in the world today jihad, aided and abetted by some Muslim nations, is the biggest threat on the planet.”

Mr. Williams said he concurred with Mr. O’Reilly.

He continued: “I mean, look, Bill, I’m not a bigot. You know the kind of books I’ve written about the civil rights movement in this country. But when I get on the plane, I got to tell you, if I see people who are in Muslim garb and I think, you know, they are identifying themselves first and foremost as Muslims, I get worried. I get nervous.”

Mr. Williams also made reference to the Pakistani immigrant who pleaded guilty this month to trying to plant a car bomb in Times Square. “He said the war with Muslims, America’s war is just beginning, first drop of blood. I don’t think there’s any way to get away from these facts,” Mr. Williams said.

NPR said in its statement that the remarks “were inconsistent with our editorial standards and practices, and undermined his credibility as a news analyst with NPR.”

...Mr. Williams’s contributions on Fox raised eyebrows at NPR in the past. In February 2009, NPR said it had asked that he stop being identified on “The O’Reilly Factor” as a “senior correspondent for NPR,” even though that title was accurate.

Alicia C. Shepard, the NPR ombudswoman, said at the time that Mr. Williams was a “lightning rod” for the public radio organization in part because he “tends to speak one way on NPR and another on Fox.”

Ms. Shepard said she had received 378 listener e-mails in 2008 listing complaints and frustrations about Mr. Williams.

What thugs!

These thuggish NPR listeners and staff aren't open-minded. They oppose freedom of thought and speech. They oppose Williams' willingness to go over to the dark side, FOX News.

Here's the video of Williams' remarks that prompted NPR to give him the ax:

Williams committed a mortal sin. He agreed with Bill O'Reilly. He spoke candidly.

Transcript
BILL O'REILLY: So where am I going wrong there, Juan?

JUAN WILLIAMS: Well, actually, I hate to say this to you because I don't want to get your ego going, but I think you're right. I think, look, political correctness can lead to some kind of paralysis where you don't address reality.

I mean, look, Bill, I'm not a bigot. You know the kind of books I've written about the civil rights movement in this country. But when I get on a plane, I got to tell you, if I see people who are in Muslim garb and I think, you know, they are identifying themselves first and foremost as Muslims, I get worried. I get nervous.

Now, I remember also that when the Times Square bomber was in court, I think this was just last week, he said the war with Muslims, America's war, is just beginning, first drop of blood. I don't think there's any way to get away from these facts. But I think there are people who want to somehow remind us all, as President Bush did after 9/11, it's not a war against Islam. President Bush went to a mosque...

O'REILLY: Well, there isn't any theology involved in this at all from my perspective, Juan. But you live in the liberal precincts. You actually work for NPR, OK?

WILLIAMS: Yes....

Williams doesn't work for NPR anymore.

Clearly, Williams is a victim of the Left's intolerance.

Although the liberal media have spent the last 48 hours slamming Christine O'Donnell about her knowledge of the First Amendment, I think what's more newsworthy is that the thugs at NPR, an operation that receives taxpayer funding, don't practice the freedoms protected by the Bill of Rights.

What did Williams say that's "inconsistent with [NPR's] editorial standards and practices, and undermined his credibility as a news analyst with NPR"?

What did he say? He candidly admitted his concern about terrorism when he's on a plane.

Moreover, Williams is right about identifying the terrorists at war with the United States as Muslims. That may be politically incorrect, but it's reality.

Williams goes on to say that we are not at war with Islam.

I fail to see the problem. What was so objectionable about what Williams said? He was honest about his fears. That's legitimate.

It's perfectly understandable to be nervous if some passengers are identifying themselves as Muslims with the seeming purpose of intimidating others onboard a plane. When confronted with such suspicious behavior, it would be abnormal not to be fearful.

The reality is that there are millions of radical Muslims currently at war with the United States. To be sure, they are extremists, but they do identify themselves as Muslims.

What are NPR's editorial standards and practices anyway?

Is it acceptable for NPR to call Tea Party patriots and Republicans racists? Is it OK to belittle them and question their intelligence?

Is it acceptable for NPR to mock Christians and degrade the Catholic Church?

Is it acceptable for NPR to reiterate Obama's talking points and promote his agenda?

Are those sort of remarks, common from the Left, consistent with NPR's lofty, sophisticated "editorial standards and practices"?

Give me a break!

The editorial standards and practices of NPR apparently are extremely rigid. Liberal or else. Only certain groups are acceptable to target.

Williams didn't go on an Islamophobic rant. Yes, he admits to profiling in his mind and expresses his subsequent anxiety. I think his point is that even someone unbigoted, like himself, can experience nervousness. It may be irrational, but it is how he reacts emotionally.

I think he has been victimized by his fellow liberals. They have zero tolerance. March in lockstep or you'll be thrown out with the trash.

And our tax dollars help to fund NPR.

Why are we subsidizing an anti-conservative operation with an unabashedly liberal agenda? Do we really need to have government funded media?

It's time for that money to be cut off. If we're going to subsidize NPR then we should also subsidize FOX News.

Christine O'Donnell: Separation of Church and State

Chris Coons made a fool of himself at Widener University Law School on Tuesday.

Christine O'Donnell has a far better grasp of the Constitution than her Democrat opponent when it comes to the "separation of church and state."

The audience at Widener revealed its lack of understanding, and frankly, stupidity, when they laughed at what they perceived to be O'Donnell's gaffe.

Here's video of the exchange:

On his radio program today, Mark Levin shredded Coons and the buffoons criticizing O'Donnell.

Levin "goes through the history of so-called, 'separation between church and state,' and explains how it's not in the Constitution, and that it has been made up just like other things the liberals do."

Listen to the podcast of Levin's October 19 show.

Christine O'Donnell, Witchcraft, and Bill Maher

Bill Maher had fun smearing Christine O'Donnell on Real Time on Friday.

Mark Levin responds to Maher's use of a 1999 clip from Politically Incorrect in which O'Donnell talks about dabbling in witchcraft.

Levin writes:

Barack Obama dabbled in cocaine.
http://www.washingtonpost.com/wp-dyn/content/article/2007/01/02/AR2007010201359.html

Remember this? Somehow, it didn't disqualify Obama for "high" office. In fact, it didn't even seem to affect his image at the time Obama made it public. Obama even explained his revelation as altruistic -- the public appreciates honestly and openness of this sort, he insisted.

But now, Bill Maher, a true sleaze ball, releases some unused clip from one of his programs where Christine O'Donnell talks about witchcraft and her youth (frankly, it's not even clear what, exactly, she had to do with witchcraft in any real way, other than dating some guy who may have been into it). CBS considers this newsworthy.

John Hinderaker at the Powerline website, considers it a career-killer. http://www.powerlineblog.com/archives/2010/09/027251.php (What an ass.) The piling on will begin because these people literally hate O'Donnell.

But at least O'Donnell didn't kill anybody at Chappaquiddick (Ted Kennedy), join the Ku Klux Klan (Bob Byrd), "allegedly" commit rape (Bill Clinton), or, like Harry Reid's pet, Chris Coons, dabble in Marxism.

Oh, and don't give me this nonsense about her being held to a higher standard because we conservatives are better. This is a hit job over something that is old and of no consequence.

Levin makes excellent points.

I think this O'Donnell derangement syndrome is such a waste.

Why talk about witchcraft?

Let's talk about the economy and health care and what a mess the Democrats have made. And why we need conservatives in the Senate.

Christine O'Donnell Victory Speech

The people voted in Delaware. They chose Christine O'Donnell to be their Republican nominee for the U.S. Senate.

The Republican Party and assorted pundits don't like the people's choice.

FOX News reported last night that the National Republican Senatorial Committee wouldn't support O'Donnell. If true, that's an extremely disturbing reaction.

From The Hill:

Delaware GOP Senate candidate Christine O'Donnell said Wednesday she can win her race without national Republican support, and needs only $1 million to do so.

O'Donnell, fresh off a conservative upset victory over Rep. Mike Castle (R) in Delaware, dismissed talk that the National Republican Senatorial Committee (NRSC) might not support her.

"That's a shame, but they never thought I could win this race, and I believe that we can win without them," O'Donnell said of the NRSC on ABC'S "Good Morning America."

"They also said that Ronald Reagan wasn't electable," she later added.

Fox News had reported Tuesday evening that the NRSC would give no support to O'Donnell, though a senior GOP aide didn't shut the door to adding support, adding that the committee would be "watching" the race.

But O'Donnell's win caused projection services to immediately to shift their predictions in the race to favor Democrat Chris Coons, since O'Donnell, a two-time Senate candidate, had failed badly in her two previous bids.

O'Donnell said that she was confident that money would take care of itself, though, and that she wouldn't need that much to win.

"I don't know if we'll get money from the National Republican Party, but I know we're going to get the money that we need," she said on NBC's "Today" show.

I don't think O'Donnell will have to worry about money. The people have the power, not the party establishment.

The NRSC should be worried about fundraising if it makes good on its reported pledge to withhold money from O'Donnell.

_____________

Mike Castle's hissy fit is very unbecoming.
A Rep. Mike Castle (R-Del.) campaign source confirmed to The Hill late Tuesday that the longtime congressman will not be endorsing Christine O'Donnell.

Castle's tantrum is telling.

It doesn't appear that he cares about the best interests of the country and taking back the Senate from the liberals. He cares more about his own interests. He doesn't respect the voters in Delaware. Not cool, Castle. Not cool.
